Man, I report a tragedy to make some small talk and this place still wants to be the political thread. SCsH.

Talk about literally anything else, please.

  • President Martin Van Buren was the only US President that spoke English as a second language (He wa Dutch - and had MEAN muttonchops)

  • During the Opium Wars of the mid/late 19th century some Chinese forces took to the field with opium pipes and had to smoke up before battle.....there were reported instances also of some of their men believing that they could channel their ancestors warrior spirit by striking menacing poses and contorting their faces at the British...

  • The British, meanwhile, were testing out their new Maxim machine guns and would wash with amusement before mowing down scores of stoned out villagers

  • There are 4 nations that have German as their official language : Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Liechtenstein

  • The Crimean War was the first war to effectively make use of combined arms where shelling from ships was executed in support of ground troops

  • The US Civil War was the first instance of non-wooden naval ships and also, I think, the submarine...

  • Briefly, the US Army fielded a very small / very mobile tactical nuclear weapon system called "The Davey Crocket" - the idea was to have agile/rapid reaction punch capability to offset the larger #'s of Soviet armor and soldiers that would come across the Fulda Gap in Germany -- the projectile carried a blast yield of less than 1 kiloton but gave a single Jeep the ability to blow holes in approaching columns of tanks - I tried to link a pic below but may have failed

  • The first Intermediate Range Ballistic Missile that we fielded was the PGM-11 Redstone. This was in the late 50's and the design was an adaptation of the German V2 from WW2 and could hit targets up to 200 miles away - the warhead typically produced a blast yield of 3-4 Megatons (that's pretty massive) -- the weapon was provided by Chrysler

So the Canadian government ruled today that the Blue Jays are not allowed to play in Toronto this year. The backup plan is to play games in Buffalo. At a Triple A stadium. With poor lighting.

So they’ll just play all day games this year.

Cool. 2020 is so awesome, y’all!

And THAT sums up the issue with you. You posted about a tragedy with the *admitted* purpose of drawing attention to YOURSELF.

Trying to bask in tragedy and several ruined lives.

WTF is wrong with you.

(Oh I'm sure you were J/K, LOLOL). Good grief, F-Off.

From what I remember from when I went there Switzerland has 3 official languages.

That’s probably true

I just meant that they’re mostly a German speaking ppl....and honestly I posted that because “listing the German speaking nations” was what I was thinking at the moment I started to type

which leads to another point that you may or may not believe or care about (I wrestle with it quite often lately) - I am not a liar ....I won’t lie to anyone AND there’s really no filter between what I’m thinking and what I tend to say -

simple enough idea until you start to realize that you’re approaching things very differently than most

Last New Year’s Eve we had shirtless quarterback interrupt the opposing team’s warmups and then punch a member of said opposing team before running for almost 300 yards.

Then we got to witness one of the greatest postgame lockeroom speeches of all time.

Now we have a former Rivals Top 50 member of our secondary tweeting this...

PLEASE HAPPEN COLLEGE FOOTBALL.

The waving emoji kills me. There aren’t really enough words to describe the boner that tweet gave me.

Bossman, Echols, Dort. Come get it, mfers. That’s one badass CB group in ability and name.

Can’t players make money now? I mean, I know Bossman making money, but he can print up some MY NAME BOSSMAN shirts and sell em outside of Commonwealth, correct?

You (assuming that is you) posted that picture multiple times over the past few days. You wanted a reaction, so you got one. That picture occurred at our radio show when the little girl came over about 30 seconds before we went back on air. We aren't wearing masks because you can't do a radio show with masks on. I asked her dad if she wanted to wait until the show ended so we could put the masks on and he said no. So we took the picture.

As for the bigger point, one of the reasons we are successful is because we interact with fans. I don't want to lose that because I think it is a big part of our success. However I have also realized that it simply isn't healthy for me to log on every single day and read multiple people being absolute dicks to me for simply cheering for a different team or being of a different political party. So I made the decision that if I am going to stay engaged with our audience (which I do think is necessary for our success) then I am just going to liberally block people whose only purpose in replying to me is to be a dick. Hence, you.

If its not you, then the principle is still the same. I do have thin skin. But at least I know that about myself. It is why if I ran, I had decided I wasn't going to allow my Twitter to be on my phone. Otherwise it would have been a disaster. I didn't run so now I can just block the John Durbins of the world and not have to worry about it.
