Correct answer. Pepperdine. Can’t imagine going to school on the literal west coast.

Also, college sports aren’t happening gang. Sucks, but it’s the truth.

Long Beach State and Cal State Fullerton would be on my list.

I had a project in Orange County for two years and we stayed in a Marriott on Cal State Fullerton's Campus. That university is about 25 miles inland from the ocean, and it's on a plot of land about the size of 5 city blocks. The baseball field is open year round for things like high school practice. Good baseball team historically, but not exactly a great place to be. As far as the student body goes, it's very commuter.

Re: Pepperdine. I've been out to that campus many times, but I'm not sure how great the nightlife is going to be in Malibu.

It pains me to say this, but if I were going to go to school on the West Coast I'd pick UCLA. Big school, you're right next to Beverly Hills, and you're close to the beach. Westwood feels like a small college town, but it's in the middle of LA.

I imagine playing for UT in Austin would be pretty baller (especially growing up in Texas.)

Drew loved it, got to play for Team USA and was a first round draft pick...hard to do It much better, imo.

Well they just cancelled our biggest event here, Fantasy Fest is done. Cool, let’s just burn the whole thing down at this point and start over.

If no other event is saved, I’ll be ok as long as we get the Cancun Challenge.

How does a conference-only schedule protect the safety of the student-athletes?
SEC can hold every school to the same standards and the schools earn more money than most and can provide better resources to test, trace, isolate, etc. than Austin Peay, for instance.

More money leads to more safety.

How about a big F’ing lol at these conferences pretending like they solved a problem by dropping their non conference schedules. [laughing][eyeroll]

Almost 10k people die in the US every day. For the most part, we barely pay attention to this stat. Just part of life. You live. You die. Life goes on.

Barely anyone is dying anymore of Covid. We aren’t going to experience another NY, where bad policy led to numerous deaths that didn’t have to happen. Bad policy then doesn’t mean we have to have bad policy now. People aren’t dying. Hospitals aren’t getting overwhelmed. We need to move on. Life goes on.

Edit - well how would I feel if it were my parents who died of Covid? I don’t know. My dad almost died last week of a heart attack. Thankfully he didn’t. Life goes on.
