I don’t care about any of it right now. Burned out.

It’s all put away on a shelf for the time being bc I’m hopping on the domesto train destination Cold One City via Lake Cumberland for the weekend.

Kids are staying at their grandparents for until Sunday evening and I just hit up Costco for weekend supplies.

Rocky Mountain Sodas, sunshine, water and tunes. Nothing else matters until Monday.

Went to the fireworks store today with the idea that I would keep it under 300. But I’m like a kid in a candy store there and didn’t come close to honoring that. Inner redneck just shows sometime.

Heading out to Kincaid in the morning. Oldest boy really wants to fish. I’m guessing largemouth are a non-issue with this heat. Might let him experience the wonder of chicken liver on the bottom and five pound yellow bellies.

Anyone else ordering food or having sex this weekend?

The heat down here is just crazy right now. It was beautiful during quarantine, mid to low 80s, and of course as quarantine ended it was 90s again.

Say what you will, but low 90s, UVS, a more direct sun and no cover is not even close to 103 in KY, NJ, NC, etc. This sun here is not messing around this year.

Water is hot as a bathtub and perfect for hurricanes.

Shakey head with trick worm, RedEye Shad chrome/black, Texas rig, Scum frog and white super fluke are summer bass staples.
Was wearing out catfish until the river went straight up and now the opposite. Was also catching stripes and white bass on jigs while waiting on the catfish to hit. I probably have a fishing addiction.

Late night randoms:

- Coach Tony is so much better at getting CFC to listen than I’ll ever be. Dude is the “5yo baseball player whisperer.” I’m too neurotic and have to remind myself just to back off.

- On that note, the games starting up reminded me of (and I’m still laughing at):
Little Big League >>>>> Rookie of the Year.

There were at least realistic baseball sequences involved and they at least gave the kid some dialogue that someone with a semblance of baseball IQ could appreciate.

- PGA has it figured out, and because of the no physical contact involved, will undoubtedly be the only “major” sport that sticks it out.

- Honestly a little disappointed in the early fireworks this year. Figured with it being a year of people being stuck at home, it’d be kind of rowdy. Not so much.

- A well made Reuben sandwich is a real treat.

- UK football was the one sports “thing” I cared about more than any other this year, or next, for that matter. Looking more and more unlikely.

- #bossman

- Where has SAE been? Seriously.

Come on Matt just tell iHeart you’re not going to do your radio show for a while because there are no sports.

Also, you owe that guy $250.
Or, because the vast majority of players KSR reports on are black, he's giving up his position to a POC.

All the rage nowadays.

* I’m hopping on the domesto train destination Cold One City...

Poetry.

* I'm glad that Stoops and Co. have always seemed to have a really good program for keeping players' social media in check where they let kids be kids without doing anything truly stupid.

You know that there are college QBs who are working with their guys on routes, etc. I just hope nobody is dumb enough to post an instagram video of Terry Touchdown dropping bombs, etc so we have to listen to every woke *** sports journalist make us public enemy number one.

Actually, on second thought though, maybe that might be good for UK football. It sets the right renegade tone and it might give Barnhart a stroke.

* We've had fireworks for like 3 weeks. Kind of a pain at first because it freaks the dog out but he's gotten used to it by now. At least people are doing something beside watching pandemic porn on the news and posting on social media, I guess.

* I saw where 75% of Scott County parents told the school they wanted to send their kids for in-person school in the fall. Good. Getting kids back in school without any of that day on, day off **** is step one towards getting things back to normal.

* F*** Zoom.

VERY CONTROVERSIAL(?) TAKE:

I don’t mind hearing the DISTANT echoes of fireworks during the holiday season. I’m smoking 6 Boston butts for a wedding and I had to stay up late last night babysitting them. Chilling outside after the sun goes down, listening to my music, minding my own business on the domesto train, and listening to the distant roars of freedom. Not all that bad.

Now if it’s a next door neighbor, disregard. That sucks.

Friday3:

Yee - Deorro
Drake/Wayne - Right Above It
Wu-Tang Clan - C.R.E.A.M.

-We get all the little dudes situated in the outfield, 1st inning of 1st game with 1st batter up, RF has to go pee, then of course RC has to go pee, next CF has to ****, LF is drawing in the dirt, 3rd baseman is trying block much smaller base runners from reaching the base. All before we have 2 outs. I straight up lost a kid for 1/2 an inning, in center field, just looked down and all that was left was a glove. A lot easier when it's not your kid. Nonstop hilarity. [laughing] So much fun.

-Maker to Hampton, what a circus that "handler" is. He was never going to school that's why UCLA and UK wouldn't take a commitment. Should signal some confidence on getting O-Live- E- Aye cleared.

-Speaking of kids shows on youtube, I may drive to Cincy and punch Andy Schrock in the throat.

-TDF should be on my TV right now. :(

-Trainer has me on water intake. Probably a good thing since I was most definitely not drinking enough but it's f*cking hard to get 125oz of water in your system. Not to mention having to piss all the time. Dropping lbs with the quickness though.

-We submitted our in class vote for FC this week as well. KIDS NEED TO BE IN SCHOOL. Thankfully kids are safe and most teachers are safe as well. (Holler if you want about 15 different sources that aren't CNN/FN) on why this is accurate. This 1 week on 1 week off schedule sounds like a f*cking nightmare. Talk of Saturday and Sunday being school days. GTFO. Come on, will someone being a voice of reason with?

-Finished up the Pat Tillman book last night, bleh. Rarely does reading keep me up rolling around and restless but man what a complete mess of a tragedy. War is dumb(hot take).

-Going to lighten the mood and read about Buck O'Neil next.

Our pool has a “we’re checking all your coolers” and “you gotta make reservations” and “gotta sit with the people you live with” policy.

The Cold One City Domestos are gonna be playing a lotta road games at friends’ pools this summer. A barn storming tour not seen since the heyday of the Harlem Globetrotters.

Did you read Empire of the Summer Moon? It is basically Blood Meridian but real so maybe not what you want for light-hearted summer reading.

Sorry, late to respond. Domesto train started early yesterday morn.

Yes we went with Lars, great dude, just magic when the bite is on.

Haven’t been to Conley yet this year.

Fish fry last night was WAF. Grilled and fried, nothing like a fresh flakey white fish. Is really fun having Geese in the mix down here. Our worlds were rocked by a new (to us) rum last night. Shew

- Always a big CenturyCat guy but lost on whatever point he was trying to make about Jones there.

- Was good seeing my boy BBdK last weekend- although he can’t pick horses for ****.

- Fireworks are garbage entertainment for garbage people. No offense. I’ll reluctantly deal with them July 3-4 but anything before and after cements you as inconsiderate redneck trash, imo.

- Won the opportunity to purchase some Michters Barrell Strength. May sell it below secondary if anyone is interested.

- High Life Lite train for fetusdad.

- That Lexington-Cumberland one-hour commute is absolutely perfect. For those of us in NKY, I feel the drive is too long for regular weekend trips. I know many disagree.

- Just trying to stay on my 7-month pregnant wife’s good side here. Piecing together a nightly buzz. Eating some burgers and dogs off the grill. Fine-tuning my summer playlist. Wearing mostly dri-fit clothing to stay cool. Praying we get to see this Big Blue offensive line in a couple months. Keeping it simple and real in the 41071.

The fact a normal white guy can no longer wear a Hawaiian shirt in public, lest you be mistaken for a boogaloo, may be the most 2020 thing ever.

Don’t think anyone foresaw Tommy Bahama being collateral damage in the culture wars.

Or that Hawaiian shirt wearing white supremacists would be a thing?

Oh well. Enough of that. Time to hop on Richie’s train full speed and blow some **** up.

Went early and got Save a lot chicken, by the time I left the line was about 15 deep and they were only running 1 fryer so waits were at least 30 minutes for the people in the back.

Matt if you’re still reading please don’t try to sell the chicken out of a truck. If you’re serious about saving it you HAVE to use the pressure cooker fryers.

The Boogaloo Movement:

The term boogaloo alludes to the 1984 cult sequel Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo.Following the film's release, the phrase "2: Electric Boogaloo" became a verbal template appended to a topic as a signal of pejorative parody. The boogaloo movement adopted its identity based on the anticipation of a second American Civil War, popularly known as "Civil War 2: Electric Boogaloo" among adherents.

The Proud Boys:

The Proud Boys is a far-right neo-fascist organization that admits only men as members and promotes and engages in political violence. It is based in the United States and has a presence in Canada, Australia, and the United Kingdom. The group was started as a joke in the far-right Taki's Magazine in 2016 by Vice Media co-founder and former commentator Gavin McInnes, taking its name from the song "Proud of Your Boy" from the Disney film Aladdin.

If you're keeping score at home, that's two leading white supremacy movements that are named after:

1> Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo
and
2> a song from Disney's Aladdin

My best friend is Hawaiian. Some of you attorneys may know him. He’s Boyle County’s CA. I own some real Hawaiian shirts and wear them to school on the Fridays before long breaks. Sorta my “tradition” and lots of my students will join in.

So, this is now a sign of racism for real? I need to know and not necessarily for the sake of debate; rather, I need to know so I don’t ignorantly throw one on and piss off a bunch of woke superstars.

Bad take, I own it. Had just come off the golf course, and 4 hours on THE TRAIN (a reason, not an excuse). Actually played well (by my low standards) so was feeling a little too giddy.

Only people I ever rip on are PTI and UKO. Connect the dots. If that comes off as "condescension", it says more about you than me. Guess UKO has a thicker skin than PTI.

Sorry, bud. I'll try to start treating you with more respect.
