Call me White Wayne all you want, but has a political leader (non-Civil Rights situation) ever been hanged by a member of the public in American history? I always kinda thought the “hang in effigy” thing was a classic political statement showing your dissatisfaction with the guy in office. And the adults in the room who have the ability of critical reasoning would realize that it’s not a terrorist threat nor a racial thing. (I’ll give Britainy Beshear and Ryan Lemond a pass for being upset as they don’t strike me as adults with critical reasoning skills).

Edit: I didn’t follow anything re: he being armed or trespassing. That’s a different thing altogether. But the anger seems to be directed towards the effigy more than the other things.

He crossed visible barriers, while armed (criminal trespassing), and hung the governor in effigy in an embarrassing and public display of stupidity. I wouldn't want him working for my business either.
I mean there’s an argument to be made Andy could have come out and shot at them and been within his legal right to do so.

TO BE CLEAR I’m glad that didn’t happen.

If chief was a business owner and you worked for him, you'd have to feel pretty good about job security.

The hilarious irony of all of this for both sides is too much to take.

PATRIOT DEFENDER 3%ers: Pretend to be just like the colonists who were willing to die, but cry when you get fired from your job

WOKE idiots/mainstream go along to get along types: "Hanging an effigy is disgusting! This isn't what America is about!" In a month or so, they will be celebrating people who dipped tax collectors in hot tar and beat them half to death (and burned effigies of them) for far less that what our government gets away with.

Dean Smith was hung in effigy once. That was pretty cool.

Low point - Smith hung in effigy
By Larry Schwartz
Special to ESPN.com

Jan. 7, 1965

Perhaps the lowest moment for the coach who would go on to win the most games in college basketball history comes shortly after midnight as the Tar Heels return to the North Carolina campus after last night's 107-85 loss at Wake Forest, their fourth consecutive defeat.

As the team bus pulls up in front of Woollen Gym, Dean Smith and his 6-6 team see about 100 students across the street. Other students are leaning out of their windows. In front of the gym, a dummy is hanging from a noose. "Look, they're hanging you in effigy," says assistant coach Ken Rosemond to Smith. The fourth-year coach stares straight ahead, not displaying any emotion. "I could tell it was me because of its long nose," Smith will write later.

After speaking to his team about that day's upcoming practice, Smith walks to his car. His players are furious. Billy Cunningham, North Carolina's star player, and Billy Galantai bolt from the bus and rip down the dummy. "I remember the team was just very hurt by this because we realized it wasn't Coach Smith's fault," Cunningham will recall. "It was our fault. It was the players' fault."

You don't have to bring Britainy Beshear into this....not without posting a pic at least. Good God have you no decency?

Ha! I can't find a good one that doesn't have Andy or her kids in it.

I shouldn't have said anything about her because she didn't choose her name, but it is terrible. Speaking of bad names, anybody remember that gal named Bambi at UK back in the late 90's? I had a few classes with her - very attractive, yet serious girl - but damn, can you imagine marrying somebody named Bambi? For women that would be like marrying somebody named Pinocchio.

* I dropped whatever expendable money I had the day the NCAA tournament was cancelled into VDIGX and have kept at it through COVID. Feeling pretty good about that. (PTI and Paduke: I do not want stock tips.)

The American economy is a truly beautiful thing. I have a feeling that it is going to go gangbusters. Americans hate few things more than being told what to do.

* I wear a mask only out of respect for business owners. That's it. I already didn't cough or sneeze on things in public. But there are a lot of idiots, I guess.

Anyone who tries to tell me wear one outside or while I'm working out is going to get a scalding talking to. I hope they film it and I hope they put it on henbook.

* If anything comes out of this, I hope that America stops electing people who talk to the electorate like literal retards. Also, it would be nice if fringe groups stopped being dickheads. I can both despise Andy as governor and not hang him in effigy, thank you very much.

* Random UK memory that makes me laugh: Wayne Turner getting lost on a snowmobile in Alaska.

* COVID in synopsis: we let hipsters decide things and it is f***ing terrible.

* We admitting we are in a cold war with China yet? Because we are. We didn't even know or care but we better start f***ing with those commie ***** pretty quick and hard. Kind of amazing that such an awful, awful regime can still exist in the 21st century and that it can so easily buy American institutions like the NBA, etc.

Pretty sure this is your best post ever.

Is there a more disingenuous political statement after an effigy-type situation than the ole "This is a disgusting, and I really hope that the leaders from the other side come out and condemn their own party harshly."?

Well to be fair, smiling and posing in a picture with the guy who did it is a bad look.

(especially when it’s not the first picture out there of you smiling and posing with one of those nuts)

Was a huge pain in the *** moving during the start of the pandemic. But damn sure hit the right time to buy, locked in at 2.75%. New construction on 2 acres out in the country, i'm getting ahead of the game on permanent social distancing.

Is it time to retire the word "pandemic"? The fact that everyone feels obligated to use it to refer to something that is a danger but nothing out of the ordinary is pretty revealing.

I realize it's the moment astronauts live for, but watching this Space-X countdown coverage all I can think about is what must be going through their (and loved ones) mind & body during countdown.
