Bringing back the Kentucky Colonels would light this city on fire. It's a team that already has a history. They could hang their ABA title banner on opening night along with the jerseys of Issel, Dampier and Gilmore.

The colors are perfect too. UK fans can wear blue and UL fans red. It's a match made in basketball heaven. We could revive our old ABA rivalry with the Pacers and all hate Indiana together.

Richie is correct. It would catapult this city in so many ways.

-Starting to loosely plan, even if we have to cancel, a late summer beach vacation. I just need something to look forward to.
Feel ya, went from no summer vacation plans when I woke up yesterday to currently a tentative family vacation in Destin the week leading up to the July 4th weekend. Just need to take a break, leave all the worries behind and get away. It's been a Spring.

You seem to be just completely oblivious to the financial burden major pro sports dump on city and local governments today, and the concept of an NBA team somehow creating net positive job gain is wishful thinking at best.
It would be a positive if the team used the YUM Center, taxpayers have already be fleeced for that marcus have another paying tenant.

Pretty sure I saw you post recently, couldn't help but think of you when reading this thread on a golf message board I frequent, Brady:

What’s happening right now in the baseball card market:

People with disposable income can no longer spend it on things because the pandemic shut everything down. And they’re coming to the memorabilia market. The market has exploded this month.

Honestly, VD is a smart guy. This is probably the best time to sell big money cards.

Louisville just needs to embrace being a weird niche city. If it plays its cards right, it could become a hipster enclave like Richmond, Virginia, and Chattanooga.

Still haven’t visited Louisville - may drive over this weekend though

brother says bardstown is worth seeing as well (?) - I didn’t ask why

Discovered the Transylvania campus yesterday

still no ideas on permanent living space here - everything we like seems really overpriced

nice seeing all the cars return to the landsdowne parking lot recently

Not sure why the arboretum needs closed iron gates / multiple barriers in front of said gates And occasional police presence in front of aforementioned barriers though .....does it get rough over that way or something?

Picked up one of these along with a Redbirds shirt earlier in the month. It finally arrived this week. Nice perfectly broken in t-shirt.

I've also had this sitting in the online store for the Bats.

~No chain restaurant weekend...never been so pumped about going out to eat in this little town.

~Yard is Augusta-esque but the mowing twice a week is ridic. Mower shopping as well.

~Any potential Biden voters better look long and hard at his VP pick, knowing if he pulls the upset, they will be running the show...that is downright scary given his list.

~Old Fo 1920, FR Single Barrel, and Lagunitas IPA for the weekend.

~Country Club pools opening or are they under Andy's thumb?

~Full bore blues rock Friday 5...

When My Train Pulls In....GC Jr.
The House is Rockin'...SRV
Melissa...Allman Bros.
Lie to Me...Jonny Lang
Empty Promises...Michael Burks

World is slowly resuming what is really normal (none of this new normal bs)....everyone enjoy their weekend.

Anyone who hasn't, needs to watch this movie. It's terrific. Two thumbs up.

Spencer Reinhard, Warren Lipka, Eric Borsuk and Chas Allen are four friends who live an ordinary existence in Kentucky. After a visit to Transylvania University, Lipka comes up with the idea to steal the rarest and most valuable books from the school's library. As one of the most audacious art heists in U.S. history starts to unfold, the men question whether their attempts to inject excitement and purpose into their lives are simply misguided attempts at achieving the American dream.

As Rakim would say, "It's been a long time"

-I've spent the better part of this week recruiting and to say it's a wierd environment out there would be an understatement. Thanks to unemployment boosts there are a lot of folks that are fine waiting it out and taking a paid summer break. In this case, scared money does make money. If anyone knows of any experienced insurance sales people, have them holler, Cincy/Lex/NKY all good. I genuinely have a great opportunity for someone wanting to work.

-Anth, I'm with you on scheduling a vacation if for nothing but the anticipation. This never ending groundhog day has about broke me. I know some are hypothesizing that this disease may change social norms forever but just know as soon as it makes sense I'm turning into the hugging-est, hand shaking SOB you've met.

-I could lie and say there's a new summer ale that's tickled my fancy or a $70 bottle of bourbon that I've magically acquired but instead tonight it'll be Miller Lite, like it has for a while. Today may be the first day warm enough to drink and complain about the heat which is glorious.

-Had a kindergarten graduation on my front porch today with my son's teachers today. The pic of them all in masks will be one that I look forward to looking back on, regardless of it's surreality today.

-Lake Cumberland this weekend come hell or high water.

Charlemagne Tha God does a better job at interviewing politicians and getting them to say stupid **** as any journalist from any major network/paper.

A few months ago when he called Elizabeth Warren the original Rachel Dolezal and made her defend her Native American stance was also a classic.

lol I forgot about "oh, so you the original Rachel Dolezal, huh?"

He also got Kamala Harris to lie about smoking weed and listening to Snoop Dogg and 2pac.

Of course, the classic "I keep hot sauce in my bag".

The Biden campaign thought sending Joe out there would be ok?

* the funniest thing I've heard in a looooong time was Donnel Rawlings' appearances on Joe Rogan. That mfer is the funniest thing I've ever heard on a podcast, maybe ever. His story about Charlemagne gifting his coworker a rubber mold of his *** was classic.

Forgot about the Kamala interview. No matter who he's interviewing, Charlemagne is awesome at not giving a f*** and letting the questions fly.

Charlemagne is *perfect* at getting, especially politicians, wanting to relate with him and telling him what they think him/his audience want to hear. Then Charlemagne being smart enough to say, "nah, that's not right fam."

It’s funny, Tom - I don’t remember you ever commenting on the million lies, slurs and horseshit spewing from the mouth of Trump or the other POS on your side.

STFU and stick to to fast food.

I’ve said it a million times- I won’t let this place turn into a rightwing circle jerk. Keep your politics in Twitter and the Republican thread up top.

Charlamagne is a Bossip/Twitter era ****-stirrer. It’s no surprise you laud the guy.

Don't think you've ever seen me post anything in favor of him either. In fact, disagree with him quite a bit.

Which other PoS on my side?

The Senator that was voted third most bipartisan, that has had more bills signed into law under Obama than Trump?

Or the AG of Kentucky that has one of the highest approval ratings in the country?

Okay, Muggsy (Chad is the only GYERO member I can get by with that insult).

Who's being disingenuous, if you can't laugh at a complete gaff? Get some facts and come back and see me.
