84 new cases in Kentucky today when we’ve regularly been having ~200. Sounds like a great time to tell everyone the should start wearing masks anytime they’re in public starting in two weeks.

And insinuate that businesses will be required to take their employees' temperature every day to stay open.

Ok, Andy.

I mean think about it, it doesn’t get much worse for spreading a respiratory virus than being up in somebody’s grill. Dentists and hygienists have to wear respirators, face shields, goggles, gowns and gloves and change them between every patient.

That’s a lot of ppe. Not sure if you’ve noticed but it’s kinda hard to come by.
Been texting with our friends the dentist brothers. Same thing Wodie said. Said his peers are livid. He's been on the phone since Friday trying to get clarification on what they're actually mandating. The dental supply companies were obviously raided by the 30% full hospitals and empty field hospitals. Going to be like this for every industry. Alabama was able to give detailed regulations industry by industry for reopen over 2 weeks ago when we refused to even acknowledge businesses.

Are hospitals in Kentucky having trouble getting PPE or do they have that solved now? I have been helping hospitals outside the state get masks and other PPE, but didn’t know if that were an issue here.

I don't live in Kentucky but the current governor seems like a real entitled, unaware and out of touch douche bag who was elected largely because horny, often overweight, public school teachers decided to shirk their job's main responsibilities and "march" on Frankfort, agreeing later en masse to vote against the incumbent governor who really shouldn't have been governor in the first place.

Really hard to believe he's not handling all this absolutely perfectly.

Got word from the governor that I can open back up May 1st. Absolutely ecstatic. Got absolutely no heads up and only a 36 hour warning which is way too soon to actually be prepared but it will be just fine, some employees don’t want to come back because they’re making more due to unemployment which is beyond disappointing, but just ready for this damn circus to be over. GYERO should rejoice as well.
Now all we have to look forward to is the second wave in October!
We kept our FTE's and laid off temps. It's my understanding from HR, had we FURLOUGHED regular employees, they would lose unemployment by refusing to return to work.

SERIOUS REPLIES ONLY --

Who in TF is going to check on this stuff? Rules and regulations sound cool until you realize you have nobody to enforce them. Our restaurants are going to open at 25% capacity. So....someone gonna hit up every junt in town and count the tables and chairs? Cops gonna randomly drop into every dental practice and do a head to toe PPE check?

Lawyers. DOL website says if a company isn't adhering to the cares act, don't call us, file a lawsuit. So if someone can trace getting the virus to a restaurant Chase is going to subpoena the bookings for that night and figure out if there's 27% occupancy.

Health Inspectors or Fire Marshall probably check restaurants if their occupancy is temporarily reduced.

Finally, OSHA.

I ain’t going to a restaurant until a vaccine is found or there is zero community transmission. That’s more me being tired of restaurants than covid, but just wanted to put that out there.

The Ppe situation is better than when it started, but it’s still being rationed...counterpoInt, we really haven’t seen that much of it, that we know of...

Haven’t heard much lately about the accuracy of the tests and the false negative rate. Just saying, have seen some stuff that checked all the boxes but had a negative test.

I don’t know if this is normal or if my pediatrician is a rebel but I took my son in for his 9 month checkup a week and a half ago and literally nothing had changed other that not waiting in the waiting room.

Why do these medical practices opening back up today have to have 14 days worth of PPE stocked while family practices were operating like normal this whole time and donating their PPE.

So much of this makes no sense.

They extended our SIP until the end of May. So yay! Woohoo!

Apparently the 9th Circuit is about to get flooded with lawsuits. Trump flipped this circuit so that’ll be fun to watch.

Going to be an interesting month.

Yes. He might give the palm trees coronavirus. We must protect the environment. We are the virus!
Pretty sure two weeks ago you were freaking out and telling me I was the problem for playing volleyball. Now your beaches are “packed”, you’re saying you get it people are tired of it and you’re cruising the PCH. o_O

I’ll be hitting the Dog Beach shortly to read the last of Where the Crawdads Sing and catch some rays/taste the salt water like I do every day.

News Headline: KENTUCKIANS WILL BE REQUIRED TO WEAR MASKS STARTING MAY 11

Will people be cited for not wearing them?
No.

So what happens when people don't wear them?
They'll be asked to wear one and businesses can refuse entry if they don't.

Are businesses required to refuse entry for people who don't wear masks?
No.

o_O

I'm not sure why this one is annoying me as much as it is but whatever.

Went to 2 different Targets yesterday...

Target San Jose South - 25% masks
Target San Jose West - 75% masks

It is what it is. Some places are more stringent than others. Even across brands.

Costco seems to be the most consistent and most rigid. They flat out will not allow you in without a mask.

That all sounds scary, but you take a city like Lex on a Friday night....every place isn't getting checked, but some random unlucky soul is going to get his hand slapped for having 10 extra people.

Probably the idea of “ordering” people to do what more and more are already doing and “allowing” stores to do something they already have the power to do.

Seriously, I may do the bandana just because it’s easier to keep my glasses from fogging.

And JFC there will soon be designer mask snobs, won’t there?

In NJ, masks are mandatory to enter.

put it on, get over it.

It's not mandatory though. I'd actually be less annoyed if he made it mandatory instead of this pussyfooting around. I bought a bandanna last week for that exact reason.

It’s pretty GD obvious why it’s being phrased this way. Stop being obtuse.

If he does that, then the rednecks of Bullitt County start to rebel as it infringes on their freedom as an American.

*For the nitpicking ********, this is me explaining redneck culture, not how I feel about it nor how I’d perceive the “mandatoriness” of the law.

They are already on edge about the mooslims protesting in Frankfort recently for their religious thing coming up soon. Boy if they are allowed to worship and the Christians had to miss Easter, I swear it will be ugly!

It is also GD obvious why it is a terrible message.

If Billy Joe Kentuckian hates anything it is petty tyranny. It would have been far easier to just tell Kentuckians that we have a civic duty to wear masks to protect each other and allow businesses the right to reject any one who doesn't wear one from entering. Almost every business is going to require them just to avoid potential liability.

Similar result without "ordering" something that can't be enforced. Instead the phrasing that was used is actually going to hurt compliance because it is so tone deaf.
