-any top 50 list with nothing from Ferdinand Hodler is *preposterous*.

-familiar with 35/50. Ive seen 15 of the 50 in person.

-#5 and #46 are my faves. #5 due much to subject matter...ive seen "studies"(rough draft sketches) in person...but never the actual painting. #46 is *moving* in person.

/nerd

-Cue maxxx: "i miss sports". We all do, bud.

None of those are in my 'favorites list', but given the artists listed, these ARE in my list.

Rembrandt - Syndics of the Drapers Guild (I like old dude, as facing right, that is grabbing for the money bag, and the overall contempt and suspicion of the group)

Van Gogh - The Night Cafe (It is fascinating and disturbing)

Hopper - Gas (Great lines, lighting, and loneliness)

(in a shout out to rudd, Hodler's "The Woodman" is fantastic. IMO anyway.)

I mean. At this point Kentucky basketball isn't worth losing sleep over.

The University made their bed with a coach 5 years past his prime and is Obviously not the same guy he was in 2009. That guy had a chip on his shoulder. The current coach is just siphoning taxpayer money.

Football school.

GregNJ and Kyle Tucker have been hinting all day that there is a major reclass big we're in good shape for, this before the Haarms to BYU stuff.

Banchero would be nice.

I hope. We have someone on staff who’s overly optimistic and leaking this ****. I’d guess Justice or Barbee because it never used to be like this. Cal needs to tighten the loose lips.

Maybe Cal's just been ahead of this thing for years. The university is dealing with furloughs and force reductions and we've had less than a full roster and encouraged dream pursuing for quite a while.

Also, the topic of "will college coaching staffs get furloughed" is a pretty legit one depending on location and sport.

We clearly are witnessing a drop in the trajectory of the program that is marked by the completion of the 2015 season. It's also becoming clear that he is now only capable of appealing to high school seniors and is not showing an ability to appeal to guys in the midst of their collegiate careers (mostly guys he already has on his roster). That's not even mentioning the shift away from the ability to land the absolute best prep talent in the same neighborhood of Wall, Davis and Towns.

However, what really irritates me is that he is unwilling to acknowledge any of these realities. He continues to conflate the success he had from 2010-2015 with the massive roster instability and uneven performances from 2016-2020.

He went from 3 #1 seeds over the stretch of 2010-15 to none over the past 5 (we weren't getting it this year). Quit bullshitting us.

Cal is going to be like Dean Smith. Have tons of talent through the years and win 2 titles. If you are Calipari, no way you leave UK sitting on 1 title with Joe B, Pitino and Tubby. You surely have a desire and motivation to leave UK with the second most titles of any coach. While im frustrated we do not already have 2, and im frustrated that i thought next year was going to be the year, i still believe and i wont stop believing that John Vincent will get a second title here. It may be 3 years from now it may be 7 years from now but he will do it. In the meantime, i will still give him hell until he achieves that second.

* HOT TAKE:

I'm 100%, officially done with the "bring food to health care workers" publicity stunt. Those people are potentially putting their lives on the line to treat the sick, and I truly appreciate that, but....

#1 = unlike 26 million Americans, they actually have jobs
#2 = everyone I know who works in the medical field says they have so much food they can't even eat it all

It's an incredibly kind, amazing gesture, but there are much better outlets for your generosity. JMHO.

* If we whiff on Haarms, but add Banchero if he reclassifies, that's the epitome of Calipari's failure to build a championship caliber roster. I have no doubt that Banchero will make a better pro, and is much more highly rated, but Haarms is six years older, and has proven he can contribute at the high D1 level. We've got plenty of 5-star children, so I'll take the full grown man all/air.

* Coronavirus stuff.....

- have we forgotten about these death projections? We'll be around 50,000 ytd by today, and like a week ago Fauci and company were celebrating new data that put the number around 80,000 by August. How would that even be possible?
- everyone still on board the hydroxychloroquine train?

* Looks like the Cincinnati Bengals are fully committed to the Joe Burrow era. I think it's a move they'll regret, since Miami and their 3 #1 picks desperately wants to move up. When you've got an entire roster of needs, 1 guy won't do the trick. Trade down, play the long game.

* Tiger. Phil. Peyton. Tom.

* Re opening the country isn't very hard. Get your testing in place, and support your ICUs and hospitals. Everyone goes back to work like normal, and you rely on businesses to put sensible practices in place. You slowly ease back more high risks situations -- bars, sporting events, concerts, etc.

All of the rest of the hysteria is nothing but political bs, feigning catastrophe in order to get more money out of the federal government.

* If you could choose to end Covid-19 by sacrificing a US state.....

That topic has some promise, but gd some of our fellow Cat fans are showing their lack of worldliness. About half the responses are California, lol. I know they have liberals and all, but how about states that offer little to no value? Looking at you, Mississippi and Alabama.

* The Cal/Dean Smith comparison is fair, but Smith kept all his guys for 4 years. Imagine if Calipari got to do the same.

*

Whatever Rod Strickland is making with the G League, we need to offer a couple bucks more to come back.

Didn't we just out recruit Strickland for Clarke even though he threw $500k at him?

Recruiting isn't the problem. Nobody is doing it better. Nobody.

The problem is not convincing players to stick around for 2, 3 or (gasp) even 4 years. I don't know how Cal changes that, but he had better in a hurry.

You can't have an entirely new team every damn year.

My recall isn’t what it used to be so could someone tell me who the last 4 year players at UK were?

I’m thinking Hawkins and Miller? Kentucky boys. Cal needs to recruit at least one Kentucky kid a year. They’ll stick around and be happy to be productive role players. It will go a long way to maintain/build rapport with a fan base that’s getting fed up with the turnover. JMO.

You can have all the Dontae Allens and Darius Millers. It won't mean crap if you surround them with Ashtons and Richards.

-Reopening the country is actually pretty difficult when it's been politicized, we didn't have a plan in place to shut it down properly, each state is doing something different, and we have governors on stage bragging about how many people are on unemployment. People making $22/hr sitting at home aren't going to be just jumping to get off the couch especially since in our haste we don't require them to be actively job hunting.

Politicians did all this **** *** backwards in a race to get the best headlines. The reopening is more of the same rather than a well thought out measured approach.

-I don't really know my take on Cal right now but I don't like the leaked wrong info that keeps coming out or the optics of going all in and losing to f*cking BYU.

-Nice lil ride :) Really helping keep things even keel.

-One last weekend on Broadway and DON'T GO TO TN update: TN: 155,000 test - 166 deaths *** KY: 33,000 tests - 185 deaths

This is playing out just like the football series.

-Meanwhile, STOOPSTROOPS nabbed a WR with offers from FSU, etc. At least the red head is still feisty.

It's not just the recruiting angle with Strickland, it's what he brought to the table day-to-day with actual coaching and working with the players, particularly the guards.

BUT BARBEE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR OUR ZONE THAT WE USE .001% OF THE TIME!!

Id feel a lot better if you saw any tangible changes being made. But everything the naked eye sees is that UK basketball is continuing on business as usual.

Wrong approach

If you make less than 60k in Kentucky you can currently make more money on unemployment than at your job for the next 4 months.

If someone gets furloughed and keep their insurance I could see why a lot of people are wanting to go on unemployment.

Yeah I take another crack at this horse.

I think our offensive philosophy and Cal's sideline demeanor are used against him in major ways on the recruiting trail. And Willy is correct, we still get our share but there is a difference between getting a highly ranked class and getting, and keeping, the right guys. Whitney helped our ranking numbers but hurt our season.

We're still good but we hired a guy that set the bar at chasing UCLA down for titles so he can hardly cry that our expectations are out of whack.

Working from home was supposed to be the tits. Instead I’m putting in 11-12 hour days with a 10% pay cut. It’s cool though. The Board of directors are foregoing SOME of their cash compensation. #solidarity #weareallinthistogether.

I cried watching John Prine’s Austin City Limits last Saturday night. Not ashamed of that at all.

Got sent some fire nudes last night. Worth breaking Quarantine for imho.

Hoping Lynn Bowden finds himself in a good situation. Dude deserves it and I think he’d excel with a team that will play to his strengths and not force him into a “role”.

I miss my bar and my drinking pals. Drinking alone has lost its fun.

If you get recalled, you have no choice but to go back to work. If you think you can stay on furlough you will not only lose your job, you will forfeit your unemployment. Good luck finding another job if you're stupid enough to test that.
