Any staff changes yet? Of course not.

No idea out of all Cals former players, Tony effing Barbee is the one he can't seem to quit.

Love using UK basketball as a Make-A-Wish Foundation. Good stuff John!

I may be wrong, but there will be no Carson Edwards stories at Cal’s UK. Averaging 24 a game in college requires you to be a gun. If you do that here at Player’s First U, you’d be taking the shine off someone else that was promised something that now can’t be delivered.

I’m not criticizing the “everybody eats” approach, I’m just saying you’re not likely to see big time gunners under Cal. Too many 5 stars that have been told certain things to get them here. And I think Cal really tries to be transparent an honest in that regard, for better or worse (usually for the better).

This **** was fun when the guys leaving were being drafted #1 overall.

If the Wisconsin loss was the beginning of the end, Cal not getting Zion was the icing on the proverbial final cake.

That guy should have signed with UK immediately. Tailor made for UK.

On its surface, true. But that income compared to potential compensation in their area of expertise, that's peanuts. And you can say there is a a small potential of injury with everything you do on & off the court, so cash in ASAP, bird-in-hand, etc. If you take that mindset then damn near everyone besides Brad should have bounced and gone overseas after their freshman year.

Where a lot of us shake our head is we know if Dakari was encouraged to come back for a second season and improved his game, there's no doubt he'd have improved from mid second round pic to first round / lottery. Get there and he's given more rope to develop (because of initial investment by team) and not be suiting up for the [checks notes] Qingdao Eagles, worried to death you're going to a bat flu host guarding you every game.

Dakari’s a bad example. He’s a dinosaur- he shoulda died out a long time before. Look at Carey- a much better version of an old school big. He averaged 18&10 and will be lucky to go before #25.

"Dear diary,

It is the 31st day of quarantine. Today we argued about Morakinyo Williams' stats in the European league. It was admittedly better than yesterday's discussion. I spent several hours just staring at the "delete your account" link. Like a coward, I did nothing. Perhaps tomorrow will bring discussion of the Wisconsin game. Or maybe politics."

I went out to grab lunch today just so I could get into my car and listen to Bill Simmons and Ryen Russilo redraft the F’ing 2001 NBA Draft.

Murray and Monk are the only guys that remotely compare to someone like Edwards as far as being a "gun". They had a lot of talent around them though, but still launched a bunch of shots. Murray more or less had to, he did not quite have the talent around him Monk did. I do not like to call them "guns' more like volume scorers.

2016 Malik Monk 558 shots taken
2015 Jamal Murray 538 shots taken
2010 Brandon Knight 513 shots taken

That’s (more than) enough. Kindly make your way to exit, both now and forever. Thank you for your cooperation.

I packed all my work **** up and moved it back to our office. I couldn’t stand working from home for one more minute. Maybe I’ll get coronavirus. Who knows
We have to wear masks in the office, so I’d rather just work next to my son and this awesome blow-up dinosaur punching bag my mom got him for Easter. Optimal WFH sitch. (It’s already been thrown in the basement for the day).

You could probably fit a desk behind one of these things and drop juggs in the pitching machine while you work to keep the boys mashing.

Was easier to swallow when he had 4 top 10 players coming in each year.
I realize you’ve never been the sharpest tool in the GYERO shed, but when have we ever had “4 top 10 players coming in each year”? Or even every other year? Or every five years?

Is Nick’s GF still in school?

On Dakari, he thought he was being recruited over again with Skal coming in. Everyone assumed Skal would have the 5 on lock that next year and Dakari would have been coming off the bench again so that added to it too.
