*Since March 12th, outside of a few alternating trips into an empty office for work, I've made one grocery trip, a ride down the road to drop off a gift for my god son who was born in the middle of this, and yesterday went to get gas for the lawnmower. I've got bouts of general anxiety disorder and am OCD about cleaning/germs- so this isnt really my ideal world to live in. I mistakenly grabbed the gas pump handle barehanded yesterday and for the next few minutes sat and debated just going right to the ER.

*Pretty impressed with how some small businesses have adapted quickly to try and survive. Assume most are doing twice the work for half the money right now- but the effort is certainly appreciated, and hopefully folk remember that when the dust settles.

*Neighbor kids, 1st and 2nd grade I think, started a nice little dog walking biz. I appreciate the hustle but honestly walking the dog a couple times a day was something to look forward to. Anyway- they are getting $2 a trip (tips not included) and are raking cash. They also got a roll of ShockTarts from a candy drawer that I think had been sitting in there for 2-3 years.

*The lack of Reese's Peanut Butter Eggs hasnt gone unnoticed either. Would normally have had a stockpile.

*I'm a "camera-off" video conference guy unless i'm the one speaking. Especially in the larger group calls. Mainly I dont want people to see how outdated my TV in the background is.

*Nothing wrong with adding a steady veteran backcourt guy... wait are we allowed to talk about this online yet?? Last I heard we were NOT supposed to share this insider info.

*Tornado szn coming.

-i am obliged...compelled actually, to remind folks that following the sporting adventures of 18-22 yo boys at the level/depth that most in this thread do is no less dorky than whatever the hell maxx et al were doing just then.

-the greater problem as i see it is this burgeoning monarchist zeitgeist in this thread. Troubling times, gang.

Let’s say Mintz is just another senior level Hawkins - I’d take that in a second with our wings.

Exactly! We don't need stars. I like the star power with the incoming class. We need veterans who can contribute. Mintz fits that bill. If we can snag Haarms then we're ready to go. Even if Brooks and Allen are our only returnees.

Guards/Wings:
Clarke
Boston
Askew
Mintz
Allen

Post Players:
Brooks
Ware
Jackson
Haarms

Then there's Fletcher who falls somewhere in between the two. That's 10 deep right there with an even mixture of wings and bigs. Another guard would be nice but it's still better than what most teams possess. It could be a team that takes time to mesh but I love the potential.

- Been doing my best to support local bars/restaurants- carryout and tipping heavily, overpaying for 6-packs and whatnot. I hope we come back strong. Concerned about my community, friends and family.

-The occasional Facetime/Zoom/House Party has been surprisingly nice.

- Been trying to get drunk but can’t seem to bring myself past a four-drink max with Preggers Magee by my side. Starting to empty some bottles though and just added a social sixer of Gumballhead- perhaps my favorite springtime brew.

- I say again- where has the R&B gone from the 90s?

-Happy with the pickup - been clamoring for another PG for months, b/c I'm not sure Askew is ready to be the guy just yet, at least not all alone. He seems like a steady guy, led the Big East in ATR his Jr. season.

-Huge day at Oaklawn yesterday. ABH has given me about 250 tips over the years, and maybe 3 of them have hit...but yesterday :). He had something from the owner of the 5 (Katzarelli) in Race 6. 20:1, not a peep about him on TVG or elsewhere. Sucker got me $9 WPS ($300) and the 1st leg of the late P4 that I eventually hit ($1200), which I wouldn't have had otherwise. He asked me to split a P3 All/All/5 that I passed on...and it paid $2700, lol. Oh well, best day in a long time.

Post your stuff for today in the Horsey thread, Matts. [cheers]

-Ok, ok, I'll admit Schitt's Creek is a decent little watch. 20 minute episodes, nice filler when you don't want to commit to something, but could use a laugh or two. Some definite Curb influence w/ some of Johnny's actions, and even the music. Nowhere near the show, obviously - but it's enjoyable for what it is.

-Every day still feels the same :(

-The Herdez Guac Salsa is pretty nice, actually. Like a milder/thinner poor man's version of the taqueria/food truck squeeze bottle stuff - much better than their Salsa Verde, which the lass likes but I find horrid. Got nothing for straight Tomatillo salsa, way too tart w/ no spice.

-PH, @littlebuffbabe - shew. Def worth checking out.

-90s R&B sound is gone forever. Just like 90s Country, and 90s Hip Hop, particularly the West Coast/GFunk that seemingly everyone enjoyed, even non Rap fans.

^ After Hours is outstanding though, imo. Album has really grown on me.

-Really curious to see what it's like once the country opens back up. It will obviously be a slow process, w/ social distancing still of high priority for quite some time. I know I'll be ready to hop a plane somewhere the moment I'm allowed, but that likely will not be safe or practical - hopefully, Fall travel will be a full go. #optimist

- Schitts Creek is an Arrested Development clone but a good watch. Eww, David.

- For some unknown god forsaken reason I’ve developed a recent craving for the soulful sound of Bruce Hornsby’s seminal hit “Every Little Kiss.” wtf

- All I know is I’ve watched Mintz-types BF us in the tournament far too many times. Glad to have one of our own.

You keep saying that but I don't agree. The premise is similar but the rest of the show, most notably the character development, is much better on SC. Probably why the later season of AD didn't hold up, the same jokes and characters got stagnant.

FUN FACT: "The 90s" were damn near 30 years ago. Your youth is long dead. Enjoy!

05 asked me the other day how old Ferris Bueller’s Day Off was. I just casually answered about 25 years...when I was in middle school. He looked at me weird and said that doesn’t add up. So yeah...34 years to be exact.

W T F !!!!!

Welcome to the world of Dad Rock, Chad! Remember the "adult contemporary" Billboard chart from the 80s & 90s and how awful you thought it was as a kid? That's your music now!

I found myself listening to an entire GD Christopher Cross album at work out of nowhere one day and thinking, "This guy gets it." There is no planning for it. It just ... happens.

@Century Cat could I get a copy of your UNC quiz? Tarhole Twitter is coming after me because I was supportive of NC State telling the NCAA to go pump itself. They’re using the typical, self-righteous tools in their playbook. Would like to give them some reading material.

Ah yes, certainly. Always happy to expose "The Facts Behind The Myth".

I'd say getting a legit player from the Big East is better than getting players from the PAC-lol and The Patriot. No offense to Reid and Nate.

The moment I saw the Hyundai buy a car virtually commercial I was over all the In these uncertain times commercials. If that makes me a bad person so be it.

I've been going into the office 3 days of the week and doing 2 from home. The days at home suck in that I just want to go lay down in my bed 1 hour into it. Putting in 10+ hours the days in the office to limit the time at home. Most people here except a handful like me are working entirely from home. Blessed!

Wife has had straight hair since I've known her. She had chemo and as her hair has grown back it is curly af. Not complaining but even she is perplexed by this. She is doing well and I'm thankful that this COVID crap didn't go down last year when she was dealing with all this because I would have been a much bigger train wreck than I was.

Favorite 90's sappy R&B tracks:

End of the Road- BIIM
Don't Leave- Black Street
Five Steps- Dru Hill
Nobody Knows it but Me- Tony Rich
Tell Me It's Real- KCi and JoJo

-Realized the other day that music hasn’t been a part of the bedroom in years. Start a family, they said...

-2:30 tee tomorrow. Walk/carry. 6 in the bag and 6 in a cooler for the turn.

-CBB now pretty much resembles playground basketball with captains picking their squad from a pool of players each season.

-$250-$300 weekly grocery bills are getting a bit old (normally around $130) but not spending money anywhere else so it’s whatever, I guess.

-Yard looks pretty dope. Ivy 80% back. Hung some ferns from the portico. Not a stick in sight due to them all being used in the weekend street firepit.

-Fortunate to have a bunch of close-knit neighbors all around our age. Thur-Sat nights the firepit in the middle of the street becomes the bar (with social distancing). Been sailor drunk a few times out there tbh. Neighborhood cops drive by and say hi. So that’s helping.

-DMB Live with Tim Reynolds never let me down in college. Just all passion back then.
