Forget who said it on Twitter the other day, but one of the national CBB guys said that fans always need to temper expectations when it comes to grad transfers. Basically, if they were definite pros, they'd be headed to the draft instead of another school.

But man, like Wodie said, this is exactly what we scream about every single year....the need for a veteran in the backcourt who you can trust down the stretch. That's what Mintz appears to be.

It's just odd that from all accounts, we didn't pursue players like Carlik Jones and Bryce Aiken. I'm not saying it's the wrong move. Maybe Cal looks for different things when he's scouting out a kid, maybe he called Jones and Aiken and they both told him to go f*ck himself. Who knows? All I'm saying is I don't get it. Seems weird to me.

Like I said, I don't know ****. Hope the kid is a beast and he crushes it.

Those dudes aren't going somewhere to fight for a spot when plenty of options for them to go be a guaranteed starter.

Everything I've heard on Askew is that he's not ideally going to be ready to start day one. I'm surprised Cal wouldn't try to sell them on being that guy. I wouldn't necessarily be surprised if like you said they balked at it in the end. Just surprised that being Kentucky, being Cal, we wouldn't at least put in the work and see if we can get them in.

It's pretty ironic to overly concern yourself with someone's pro stock when evaluating their college ability.

I'm pretty F'ing done with worrying about how great of a pro our guys will be. Call me crazy, but I'm more interested in how well they play when they're, you know, actually playing in college.

I just want to let you know that this opinion is actually the one now held by the masses. Would like to reconsider your post?

One thing does stand out when watching film of our incoming recruits. They all play with ferocity.

Honestly, bro -- when you get a chance to jump off the top rope and drop an elbow on KingLlama's head, you go for it. Couldn't hold back.

I don't speak for PTI but I would like to see Calipari and Matt Jones admit this and fix the f***ing messaging that alienates fans with a facade.

Earlier reports can be confirmed, being a bachelor during quarantine does in fact suck. I'm no social butterfly, but this is on the verge solitary confinement.

That said, I've accumulated some good entertainment recs.

Under-the-radar documentary pick: "No One Saw a Thing" -- detailing the violent history of a small town, Skidmore, Missouri
  • On July 10, 1981, Ken McElroy was shot to death with at least two different guns, while sitting in his truck in front of the pool hall in town. Though dozens of people saw the event, all denied seeing anything that would help identify the shooters.[9] McElroy had a reputation as the "town bully," and he had fended off over 20 charges for acts of theft, rape, and other violence (often by means of witness intimidation).
It's available with a free Sundance trial via Prime if that piques your interest.

Also, went wayyy down the rabbit hole watching youtube videos about an extreme pro-wrestler named New Jack. Highlights of his career include:

I’ve always been enthralled by New Jack. He got his start in Smoky Mountain Wrestling and it would always come on at noon on Saturdays on the local Fox station so I knew who he was when I was about 8 years old.

This dude was going to Paintsville, Pikeville, Barbourville, Hazard, Evarts, Hyden in the early 90’s wearing full Raiders gear and black bandanas around his face cutting promos like this:

At the same time one of the biggest stars in the company was this guy.

Was wondering the same thing before ol' hall monitor Triangle cat shed light on it for us all and closed the case.

Brandon...Late on the follow-up, but I appreciate your rec earlier of the online full Latin Mass for Easter Sunday. Probably not my stride, but I appreciate the sentiment.

To be honest, I’m probably more interested at this point in your ideas on Monarchism. I think I would welcome a benevolent despot. Seems a lot better than the other options we’re looking at, or representative democracy in general.

But who do we select? It’s a short list. Jon Hamm, Rich Brooks, or Max Powerrrr would seem to be the natural front runners. Open to suggestions tho.

Oh buddy. Well, most reasonable option would be inviting the Windsors over. Cons are they are prots and don’t seem to want to actually rule. Then there is the Jacobite heir, the Prince of Lichtenstein and the French heir Louis XX. Downside is Louis doesn’t speak English well and Prince Josef doesn’t claim the Jacobite succession.

Failing any of those options I’m not opposed in theory to a Max Powerr monarchy. We’re going to have to do some serious legitimizing, though. If rival claimants get a hold of some particular head in hand pictures following legal defeat, all bets are off.

I could TOTALLY get behind a Rich Brooks led benevolent despotism with a non-hereditary succession plan ala Rome during the five good emperors stage. Piglet as the heir apparent?

Augustus Rich has a nice ring to it and we’d always have good tomaters.
