I once started Inferno by Dan Brown and didn't finish it, was a little uncomfortable not to mention just not as gripping as A&D and DC.

Anyway, I was cleaning out my bedside junk drawer last night and ran across it, bookmark about 2/3rds the way through, just tossed it in the trash.

As someone who is licensed in Michigan and has read the briefs, they were somewhat threatening for prescribing drugs for off label use, but really more in the sense for preserving supply for those fda approved conditions.

Funny thing about Zithromax, even when I was in Med school (long time ago) it was sort of a joke that people who had an URI that was likely viral but wouldn’t leave the office without a script, just write them a Zpack because most bacteria were already resistant to it. And now maybe it has some antiviral activity...who knew.

Exact same. I felt like he was trying way too hard in this one.

The best conspiracy theory I've heard lately, you guys sitting down for this one? It's so wacky! It actually (This is kind of funny) confirms my already-held political bias... So weird, but not actually outside of the realm of possibility.... Just so happens to support my political agenda, just a coincidence there... And to be honest, it's probably true, anyway, here goes...

Zero doubt whatsoever UKO is all in on Q-Anon.

He’s not the only one in this thread who at least gives it a “well, it may seem crazy but the more I read into it...”

^^^ Regarding the 2020 election - the best conspiracy theory I've read lately is that the Democrats knew that this treatment would be successful and were waiting to announce it. Trump caught wind of it and beat them to the punch forcing them to attack him.

Shew. As crazy as that is....I give it a slight chance of being true because Trump.

And then you have the Michigan governor that effectively banned the use of that treatment. She had a very good chance to be the VP candidate. Looking very doubtful now.

Like I said- obviously everyone wants it to work and be accessible to the masses right away. I just have a feeling its not going to be that easy as the realization that a cure was already basically lying around...

Would assume if that is the drug that ends up being the one that saves humanity- that will wrap up the 2020 election
China is lying, and trying to twist the knife on the rest of the world along with Russia (who popped our debt bubble to kick this off).

The cure is not “already basically lying around.” China produces the raw pharmaceutical chemicals and sends them to India. India makes most our drugs and they cut off all exporting of this drug and most generics (except for existing orders) weeks ago. India is making 150-200 million pills a month for themselves.

Our government knew this, but Trump couldn’t think two steps ahead and blurted it out to everyone. There won’t be enough to save everyone in time (we’re already seeing that, hello!) , so we’ll be locked down through July(?) and then locked down again in the fall and winter possibly as they work on getting targeted drugs and widespread testing going.

Blurting this out, exacerbates the security problem of hospitals. As more people realize there is a known cure, they’ll want to make sure their family member gets it. That’s why Andy has talked about deploying the National Guard at hospitals, IMO. It’s not to help valet their cars.

The same deal applies to wearing masks. This virus “grows” in the nasalpharanx (your head or whatever) - not your lungs. Large droplets are what gets to the nasal passage. They would be mostly stopped by a surgical mask at (or even cotton masks 3x better than nothing). But the government knew there was nowhere near enough masks for even healthcare workers, so they put out a big lie of “masks won’t work” to keep people from buying them.

Now, they’re going to have to reverse the message of “masks don’t work” on a huge scale as our own production ramps up. Hopefully we all can start wearing them out and about by the end of the summer.

Clearly said it was a conspiracy theory but please go on.....
I’ll tell you what I told my boss in January when I mentioned he should get a handle on our company’s PPE and negative air pressure equipment inventory:

“I’m not a ‘conspiracy theory guy,’ I’m a ‘connect the dots guy.’”

There’s no PPE to be had, but we were able to donate negative air pressure equipment to three local hospitals last week. Two are in Kentucky.

Any ideas to get a 4 year old out of the house for a few hours one day this week? Thinking either a nice long drive or... go stand in the corner of a large parking lot.

Had to cut KT and MJ from my Twitter feed. Couldn’t deal with the negativity anymore. I figure if something important happens in UK sports land, I’ll hear it here with better analysis.

Sorry if me posting about my dad's health got in the way of your buzz. I will try to be more considerate next time.

For the many of you who reached out over the last few days, I really appreciate it. I couldn't respond to everyone individually, but wanted to take a second to thank everyone on here. It means a lot. I have passed the time over the last week reading this thread and (as always), it keeps me entertained. My biggest regret of my UK-related career has been not being able to figure out a way to have a clever, distinct chat situation like this and the old Deadspin comments section. Unfortunately, it was never really able to materialize.

Weird times in the UK world. Lot of uncertainty, especially on the basketball side, that I have never seen before. Part of it is probably that I have been somewhat out of the loop due to the book and other factors, but there is definitely an unknown quality about next year's roster that hasn't been the case in years past. The virus is certainly a big part of it, but there is also a weird disconnect that I haven't seen before. The class is so good coming in however, that I think it will likely be fine. The much bigger worry is the (likely) 2022 change to None and Done (although the NBA is apparently having some 2nd thoughts) that I think will change the sport exponentially

WILDCAT73, PLEASE AVERT YOUR SNOWFLAKE EYES BECAUSE THE NEXT TWO PARAGRAPHS ARE FOR THE GROWNUPS

Having dealt a great deal with the situation in New York because of my girlfriend being there and working on it up close for her show, its a ticking time bomb. They are at capacity now, so just pray that we don't see exponential growth this week. If we do, that city is in trouble. And there are other cities headed for the same predicament (like Detroit and New Orleans) that are much more ill-prepared

On the other hand however, things look much better here in Kentucky. Talking to the folks in the Governor's office, the projections are much better than they thought they would be ten days ago. There is cautious optimism about the efforts. The real issue going forward are the border counties to Tennessee (especially those in Nashville area) and Jefferson County, where people aren't following the rules as much. I am back and forth between Lex and Lou a lot, and Lex is much more shut down than Lou

Hope everyone is well. If you like weird stuff, watch "The Platform" on Netflix.

Took little C out for a drive yesterday (to separate them for a bit as much as anything). First little while she napped so I did drive-through pickup at some of the local breweries to help support them. When she woke up we went out Versailles Rd. to see the castle then continued out and looped back in on Old Frankfort to see the horse farms. Pretty nice quiet time for ol' dad and she enjoyed seeing the castle and horses.

Anything 65 Corridor is out. Jefferson out. Northern, while it should be assumed, is definitely out. I'm probably leaning a western county but the eastern counties have that weird ethical code where they may punch you but it won't be cheap shot.

Hmmm.

Campbell Co., in a landslide.

I mean, just look at the HS mascots there...

Bluebirds, Camels, Green Devils, Wildcats, Thoroughbreds, Tigers, Mustangs and Big Trains.

100% trustworthy.*

The lone exception being Bellevue who currently comes in at a 83% trustworthy clip.

Hope your father feels better.

If all of your posts were like that, no one would complain. Focus on facts and solutions. That’s what people want to hear. We get negative news all day long from multiple sources. We use sports as an outlet. You are one of those outlets. You do people more good being funny and positive than anything else. Don’t forget that.
