I’d say Corliss, obviously. Scotty is memorable and was as impressive as the others at times, but you hurt them by slowing them down and I bet if you did a numbers game no one was close if they didn’t slow down/stop Corliss.

Stop it. Corliss and Scotty were a dynamic duo that the team revolved around. WCC got it wrong. It happens*.

If you're going to pose as a faux-intellectual, go revel in your B.A. or whatever ****** pedestrian degree you attained by the skin of your teeth, and leave the serious discussions to those who achieved a bit (or a lot) more than that.

And while you're at it, go Eat a baby blue Dick.

Need to keep a handy dandy breath freshener spray filled with 151 for trips out of the house.

Someone walks up, take out spray, and presto...you killed Corona.

YOU ALL CAN TALK ABOUT POLITICS, I'M GOING TO KEEP TALKING ABOUT HORSEY GAMBOL - FLORIDA DERBY DAY AT GULFSTREAM PARK EDITION

NOTE: As always, these are just my opinions, gamble wisely.

I'll avoid the under cards and just start with Race 6

RACE 6
I'm not mad if you want to take the favorite, (6) American Tattoo, but I'm going with the former Derby longhot, (2) Bodexpress. The trainer/jockey combo has hit at almost a 40% win percentage this year, and he's been working out pretty well. I'll take 8/1 ML and hope. I'm trying to find value. Watch out for (10)Rare Form at 15/1, too.

$10 to win on 2
$1 Ex 2/ALL
$10 to place on 10

Race 7
It came down to (5)Cheermeister and (9)Seducer. I'll probably throw these two at the top of a trifecta bet with 1,8,10,13
$0.50 Tri 5,9/5,9/1,5,8,9,10,13

Race 8
A layoff of almost a year? Concerning? Nah, I'm going with 2019 Bluegrass Stakes winner, (8) Vekoma at 9/2.

$20 to win on 8
$2 EX 8/ALL

Race 9
Probably pass on this one. (5)Newspaperofrecord should be the betting favorite, but (12)Valedictorian is dropping in class and jockey Paco Lopez is has been pretty hot at Gulfstream.

$10 PLACE on 12
$1 ALL/5

Race 10
(5) Gentle Ruler and (6) Mean Mary are both coming off G3 wins, but I'll take the one that hasn't been shipped from Kentucky to Florida and a 5+ month layoff, and go with the one that has won at this track this year.

$20 to win on 6

Race 11 OAKS PREP
I'm going with the (5) Spice is Nice to come back and revenge her defeat by (9) Tonalist's Shape. She lost by 1 1/4 last time and hoping the extra 1/16th of mile will push her through.

$20 to win on 5

Race 12
Okay, this one should be the lock bet of the day, but no money to win. (9) Zula Alpha should absolutely romped in this crap field and potentially go off at 1/9. So, I am looking at the 2nd best horse. (10) Focus Group won this race last year, but has lost every race since then. So, I am going to focus on Todd Pletcher's (1) Channel Cat.

$20 to place on 1
$1 EX ALL/9

Race 13
I'm going with the Casse/Gaffalione 8/1 (3) March to the Arch.

$10 to win on 8
$1 Ex 8/ALL

Race 14 FLORIDA DERBY
This field is loaded. I wouldn't be surprised if any of 6 horses win this. (7) Tiz the Law should be the Derby favorite come September (ugh). (12) Ete Indien looked unstoppable in The Fountain of Youth. (5) Gouverneur Morris is gaining momentum. (9) Independence Hall has the best speed figure of the bunch. (4) Soros was my longshot gamble pick back in December for future Derby winner at 250-1. But I think gun-to-head, I might be going with (1) As Seen on TV at 12/1 ML.

No, Matt, don't overthink this.

Okay, $50 to win on 7
$10 to win on 1
Screw it $0.50 TriBox 1,4,5,7,9,12 and hope 1,4,5 come in?

My opinion will change hourly Saturday.

I hate Gulfstream, by the way.

Good luck and good gambol!

Juzang's dad. Don't think Cal stood a chance on this one.

“He’s got skills he wants to hone and showcase,” his father said. “You kind of have to look at Johnny’s minutes last year. Most of them were the result of either foul trouble or someone being injured or unavailable. If Johnny is in a situation where he’s not looking over his shoulder and knows he’s going to play, I think he’s always going to do well. But any player on a shorter leash, where they’re afraid to make one or two mistakes or miss one or two shots, it’s tough to be successful in that environment. He did really well when his minutes got better, but I don’t think his minutes were necessarily the result of him being the No. 1 guy or No. 1 choice.”

Definitely some truth to what he's saying. Particularly with the short leash. But not the #1 guy or #1 choice? Uh, ya think?

To me the issue was that Cal didn't reward Johnny when his defense got better later in the year and it felt like he was always sticking his nose in there trying to get rebounds. There were plenty of times during BAH's run of mediocrity that you could have easily slid the PG roles over to your actual scorers and let Johnny sit in a damn corner with two slashers getting him open, but what do I know?

It just felt like this season ended as a microcosm of itself; Hagans was a no show, Cal tried to give up and we somehow got the W.

I've got one more week. One more reasonable week left in me before I legitimately go batshit crazy.

Thank God for my yard I can bury my head in. My snowball viburnums are about to explode. Hope BRAX's shrub scene has improved since this Wuhan virus hit. You and lil Mega Rax can only hit off the driveway tee so much, hoss.

- I go down to Mexico quite a bit for work and they introduced me to the art of the carajillo. Wow. Helluva after dinner cocktail with theatrics I'm working to fine tune. Must use Licor 43.

- Props to all of you stone cold killers watching all this old college basketball footage. I won't watch any of it and it makes me sad AF when I flip over to see Allen Iverson and Ray Allen going ape **** at the Garden. No thanks. Better Call Saul and Ozarks 3, FTW.

- The Tilley Hat is my recent unnecessary status purchase but GD these are end times. Why not?

Damn, Matts. Bode was flying...that was brutal.

That would have gotten me a $300 P3 + your other bets. :cry::flush: :(

Licor 43 'mini beers' are delicious shots in that "weak creamy yummy" genre.

The Royal Playa del Carmen got me on those. Shout out to Raul.

Meh, it’s a nostalgia trip and if they aren’t Reds games or World Series games I probably don’t remember them anyway.

Not like watching a UK games where we can all probably replay them second by second from memory

Old baseball games? [sick]

Props to you all that can enjoy old games. I just can't do it. Even wins. I hadn't rewatched any of the 2012 F4 until last week. If I've already watched it I'm just not interested and like Geese I can't stomach old cbb right now.

I posted this on Day 1 of people doing that. No offense intended, but I immediately skip Chad & everyone else's posts once it's clear they're breaking down classics.

***** mode or whatever, but it's the last thing I want to do right now. I appreciate the passion/effort, and am glad it's helping some of you, I just can't get there right now.

Right now my distraction is being slammed w/ the inconvenience of working from home, golf, and horse racing - w/ some daily day drinking mixed in.

'98 UK is the one thing I would potentially watch, as like Chumps, I've watched the Final 10 more than anything else, w/ runner up being Wake Forest '93 1st H.

...if it weren't Florida Derby at Gulfstream.

Race 8. Boom. [smoke] Exacta & Quinella double dipper.
