Access to "real time" info means that we don't have to wait til the problem is over to do so. Said info is usually incomplete and often laced with confirmation bias. When this situation is sorted many will do their own post mortem investigation...most will frame it to fit their preconfigured narrative. Is what it is.

Who knows what the response would be from any of these weirdos that The Left keeps trotting out, they aren’t in power. I do know what the response of our president was and initially it was a shrug off of “this is just a flu” and “it’s a conspiracy to get me”, a week later he’s telling people not to congregate in groups of ten or more.
So it was two extra weeks before half the country took it seriously. That doesn’t necessarily put ventilators in hospitals but it gets us ahead of the curve we are on.
Blame is unfair because this thing was coming regardless but it is fair to be critical of the public response from the WH. Would have been ten times better for him just to have said, “not sure how serious it is but definitely something we are monitoring”.
Guess I’m just salty because I have to cancel my spring golf trip, and that I do not forgive.
