I can work from home, but all our crews obviously can’t. We have some projects going on at places where we are the only ones on site, and we have projects going on at big government locations that will surely cease all activity. I have no clue what the next 6 months will hold but it is definitely going to be much less prosperous as it was looking only 2 weeks ago.

I’m trying to stay positive and keep a cool head about this, but when the world is turning into a giant M. Knight. Shyamalan film it stresses me out a little bit

Last night my wife needed me to make a run to the shell station and I was actually terrified for my life. What the f*ck man??

hello nasty

time for a snus

I'm about as libertarian as it gets, but if the U.S. government is forcing a near total economic shutdown (even if they have a damn good reason) there ought to be temporary universal basic income across the board until the quarantine is lifted. $1000 per month per adult with a subsidy for kids ought to work.

Just think of all the people on the margins who rely on working at Keenland, for example, to get by every year who through no fault of their own are now screwed. Honestly, a lot of those people would rather be working.

If it comes to it, just temporarily default on servicing the debt owed on our bonds to the Chinese government and tell those Chicoms to have a coke and a smile and stfu because we are taking care of our people because you idiots can't stop global pandemics from coming out of your ******** country.

Almost 10 years in, and Randall Cobb is still getting paid. $27 million for 3 years with $18 million signing bonus. They may joke about him replacing DeAndre Hopkins, but the 2-star from UT's back yard has done quite nicely for himself in the League.

Hang in there, '73. If anybody can ride this out, you can. And, of course, the Clown.

UK should try to move the EMU game to Friday night after the Oaks. Would be a great atmosphere. Hell, give me all night games all season long.

Test kits and vaccines en masse, please. We dicked around and got behind on this effort.

RANDOMS:

(3) Starting to wonder if just telling old/high-risk people to hunker down for a few months is the answer here instead of shutting down civilization. Hard to say.
Apparently the UK started out with this mindset then reneged once their models showed potential for hundreds of thousands of utes to still catch it.

-K Rodger with limited store hours now 7a-10p. Went in to grab a few things and had to chuckle at all the frozen foods, desserts and instant stuff gone while the perishables were still bountiful. We will be able to go to the grocery folks, no need to horde a case of DiGiorno.

On top of all the havoc this oriental pagoda is reeking on our society, expect an uptick in diabeetus once we emerge from hibernation.

<- Will be investing in core home gym necessities once this passes.

- How glorious is sports going to be once the veil is lifted? Like mainlining every drug under the sun or losing your virginity all over again. Even you baseball haters will do cartwheels to sit through a 9 inning game. Cold frosties in hand, of course.

- Westworld -- meh, nothing else to watch so whatever. Also loses points because ERW swore off nudity with her character. Pretty sure GoT started going downhill as soon as the Daenerys actress did the same.

Andrew Yang argued that universal basic income was actually well received by the libertarian crowd, because it puts the choice of how to spend it directly in the people’s hands. On top of that, it would have replaced the constant picking of winners and losers — bailouts/tax breaks/credits/etc. Just a thought.

Essential vs Non-Essential services is going to be nuts to navigate.

We board up fires, respond to homes that have flooded and need to be dried out. I would argue those are essentials.

I am more worried about the cash slowdown when mortgage companies hold on to insurance funds, adjusters aren't working and can't release money.

I have a gym in my backyard but if they shut down my actual gym then we’ll have problems. It’s my best distraction from the world for an hour or two daily.

Not sure how they do it in San Francisco but those rent numbers are similar. Here you have to have first last and security, so to move in to a $2500/month one bedroom you have to put down $7500 to secure the place.

So essentially you need like $10,000 you can just give to someone to get a place to live. In a year for a one bedroom you’re looking at $35,000 before even utilities.

Kind of hoping this all burst the rental bubble here which is ridiculous.

-Buddy is a COO of a 630 bed in a nearby city. Texted last night that "they're preparing for the end of world. Expecting a mass influx of ICU patients this week. Creating a COVID-19 ICU ward to cohort all the patients we expect." Sounds great.

-Rogue’s roommate became cooler and more interesting than him in a single post. Swiping that $107 is a dbag move btw. Leave it on the counter.

-Finished The Morning Show last night. Solid B+. Hell of a cast and great writing. Worth it.

-Neighbors are just working through it all at the office whilst rotating babysitters. Yesterday they had a babysitter, cleaning person, and a serviceman at their house all at once. They have 3 kids under 6 whom all like to play at our house. Friends of ours but GD, man.

-Lass is turning her nose up at the frozen teriyaki veggie bags I swiped the other day. Homemade stir fry is that fire FR.

-I was crushing workouts before all of this. 3-4x week. Finally made going to the gym a part of my life again. Back to running and long walks, I guess.

-Surely not alone here but come 5:00 pm every day I'm reaching for a cold one, glass of wine, or bourbon. Can't help it.

-We need this shitastic weather pattern to GTFO.

-It isn't just the elderly and vulnerable people getting the worst of this. None of us are somehow absolved from the risk of ending up in the ICU. Be smart.

-same, Brax. Kinda hard to build buildings remotely. The beauty is the nature of payment in the industry(45-60 days at best after expenditures/retention collected) should keep the cash flow steadyish. Who knows.

-i, along with many Americans can deal with whatever you throw at us...its in our dna(humanity in general is really resilient). As many have said not knowing whats gonna happen is the problem. That said...we pretty much know whats coming, and we'll make it through. We are required to look after those "on the margains" to the best of our ability...just don't quite know what that looks like yet. We will "step up", we always do. Murica.

One thing I've learned about this is that if you eat healthy, you probably aren't going to have to worry about food shortages.

On my Kroger run, the meat was down to the stuff I actually liked. Beef short rib? OH YEAH!

According to my wife, that is no longer true as of this morning at the Hartland Kroger but I'm willing to bet she just browsed boneless, skinless chicken breasts and other such nonsense.

Weird Times Randos:

-Vegas was a bit of a blur. Thursday i was a complete in-shock zombie w/ all the NCAA cancellations. Friday & Saturday I had a nice time (strip was still packed) -- gambol, Top Golf w/ Uncle, good eats, spa, etc. It was all business as usual for the people who'd planned their trips months ago & were determined to make a good time of it. Still, all you could hear in conversations was Corona & rumors of what was coming - and the sportsbooks being empty was just bizarro world. Moved my flight up from Sunday night to early AM, which was a great call since Sunday was the day everything started closing. Was able to cancel/rebook my flight for 20K points less - they were giving them away at that point.

Truly the weirdest trip I've ever taken, or likely ever will take. Obviously, things changed a BUNCH between Thurs-Sat.

-Guess I'm the only one who's not in the mood to watch classic UK games, etc? I usually do that stuff this week burning time til Thursday to get hype.

^ along a similar note, I can't even get into a streaming show at the moment - basically addicted to news/twitter, can't look away. Major News breaks every 10 minutes.

-Props to my wife, who was panicking early last week, and stocked up on weeks (and in some cases months) of essentials. My stubborn *** surely wasn't going to do it.

-That said, having all this food around w/ nathan to do is a bit dangerous. Lost a much needed 12lbs in the 2 weeks before my trip - feels like that will be back with the quickness.

-*Do* feel blessed to be able to walk out my back door onto a golf course, that's really going to be a saving grace in the coming weeks ( months?) w/ everything being cancelled. Clubhouse/Bar will be down of course, but Golf seems to be one of the few social things that will be uninterrupted, and relatively 'safe' to do.

-Hang in there 73. :(

-Good call UKO.

-Puppies, everyone

Relax SAE, it was tongue in cheek. The $107 is safely in the kitchen weed drawer, roomie smokes as soon as he gets up so he’ll find it. All the bills were ripped in half so I’m guessing someone was pissed losing at darts.

* Paul's In Louisville has been tremendously well stocked through all of this. Their butcher shop and deli selection is on point for those looking for something better than the Kroger Whole Foods **** storm.

* Man, that Derby date has some crazy potential. Just dreaming obviously but a potential evening Derby with some early season CFB and playoff MLB in the background. Would be nice if the state would get gambol approved in full by then but doubtful.

* I'm amused by all the new statistics experts, in addition to the wannabe epidemiologists. I cringe each time I hear someone talking about exponential growth or trying to show some random as chart to make a point.

* Been practicing social distancing for most of my life so this is just business as usual for ol MCF.

* I like the Cats to win 9 plus a bowl game this fall. The schedule just stacks up too difficult for us to do anything more imo.

* Would much prefer Corona death count talk or even have you try to change my political stances than have to deal with the impending Brady jerkoff session that is coming...

Aunt works at Baptist hospital and a trainers wife is an infectious disease doctor and they have a much different view on what's happening / where we're headed. Of course you can't repeat any of it or be crucified for not following the herd. Precaution is the correct play tho.

- TRX blows -> Kettle bells. Pull-up bar. AirBike.

- 5:00 tempted to pour a drink? Smh, come 3 o'clock I'm basically having to have an intervention with myself.

- Good to see CMD pop his head in. I've worked with his better half for years but haven't brought myself to ask how ZepCat is doing.

- Instead of melting in CWS we're all going to be melting in Seersuckers but at least the scenery will be better.

My father is pretty far right politically. He’s proposed eliminating food stamps, welfare, section 8 etc by just giving everyone 32,000 a year adjusted for inflation.

Got a Peloton-esque rowing machine last month. The thing whips me but the videos are just of the front of a boat going through the water. A 45 minute row on Lake Lucerne looks just like a 45 minute row on Norris Lake. It’s kinda weird.

Wasn’t it reported somewhere that a 2-mile wide asteroid is supposed to be “close” to earth’s orbital path by early April? So, there’s that.
