Straight up, head to head mortality.

I have basic math skills, so with 10 million people in the US getting the flu every year, I'll be declining that bet. Thanks, though. Go ahead and cross heart disease, accidents, and cancer off that list while you're at it.

It has and Bloomberg was the first to go all in with ads before Super Tuesday. It went over about as well as his campaign bid.

Coronavirus is gonna be everywhere; incubation period is too long for it not to be.

Infectious Disease/global health expert attending of mine from residency still thinks it’s too early to know anything for certain because it seems China cooked the books on reporting everything, and basically nothing they report should be believed.

Could be pandemic, could be a mild flu season. And sadly we’ll probably never have an accurate answer unless it turns to global pandemic bc most young healthy people will have mild symptoms/not get tested. Guess we’ll see how many healthy 20 year olds start dropping dead.

Oh, and PTI, learn epidemiology. It’s mostly taking small amounts of data and extrapolating by experts to make educated assumptions.

Not sure why I'm still surprised and despite your feelings on the severity of CV, nasty *** people still walk right past soap/water as they leave the men's room.

If CV could just focus on them it's really a win for society.

I was sitting in a conference room at work where we were all talking about the Coronavirus, and then a lady in the room licked her fingers and turned around to open the door. We're doomed.

^Bored people are always best to avoid. In life and on the internets (PTI).

They develop a skewed perception of what is interesting / worthwhile, and turn into Time Vampires, trying to suck The Productives into their vacuum of meaninglessness.

It's like they're on Time Welfare, trying to steal from The Rest of Us.

Now that I’m professionally known as “Virtual Joe,” there’s not too much hassle with staying home to work. A real “Lawnmower Man” set up if you will.

Work much harder and stay much, much busier than most on here would ever know. I'll be happy to provide my resume/typical weekly agenda if anyone really wants to be bored with that kind of info. But that being said....I enjoy TF out of my down time. The fruits of years of wise decisions, and the perks of being 41 years old, completely debt free, and financially set for life.

No apologies. And yes, that's a humblebrag.

Google and Facebook have asked that their employees work from home amid coronavirus concerns.

Stanford University will play home athletic games with restricted crowd access for the near future.

Can’t wait for the mandatory 2 week quarantine!

Friday 5, songs that ive had in my head all week edition:

-agostina by puscifer*
-there goes my gun by the pixies
-im the man by joe jackson
-in the fade by qotsa
-paper planes by mia**

*known about them for a long time...just now digging in, incredible catalog. Highly recommend

**also my ring tone, which explains why its in my head.

-kudos, pti. It ain't easy...I'd argue its harder without the constraints of marriage and fatherhood. Impressive. Having successful parents helps alot as well...not being a smart ***.

-looking to Gainesville this weekend to see how excited ill be for march madness.

-i like a measured approach to everything, I dont live or die by sports...but I've never understood "not getting hopes up". Fandom is irrational...thats the fun of it.
