Any financial advisors in here? Imagine it's a nightmare week to be one fielding calls of people panicking. I don't pay attention on a day-to-day basis b/c I'm not retiring for another 20+ years, but this week pretty much slaps you in the face. [sick] If I was 65, I could see being pretty distraught at the moment.

Hopefully Bernie can straighten this **** out & KILL THE VIRUS!

I mean, if you think about things too much it’s amazing we are (by most criteria) the dominant species in the planet. At some point one of our ancestors decided that a shiny yellow rock had more value than the other shiny rocks and that pretty much drove civilization for centuries. Now everyone freaks out because people halfway around the world get sick, think about the butterfly effect that has on towel sales in Lincoln, NE, and BOOM people lose their savings.

Sometimes I think God gave the wrong animal opposable thumbs.

The stock market was 10,000 just 10 years ago and is 25,000 now. How can anyone with significant investments be pissed or worried about that? This thing could correct to 20k and you would’ve still doubled your money in 10 years, which is pretty close to average returns over long periods of time.

If you have the ability, put your money aside and let TIME do it’s thing. Set it and forget it.

Welp. Caviar Court ran 5th yesterday. Some days these animals just dont have it. I still think the bet was a good one. Well researched and my horse guy says he's likely to rebound strong when they run him again. Honestly this was the result we wanted. His odds will be longer next time and we can double up our bet. Go ahead and Venmo the $6 in advance if you want to.

The book World War Z started with an obscure disease in China being covered up by the Commies and ended with a worldwide zombie apocalypse and collapse of civilization.

Coincidence?

* My apologies for posting such a politically divisive comment -- the actual performance of the stock market. I'll keep things more centrist from here on out.

* Is there a less filling high calorie snack than a donut? F. I just ate three this morning, for no good f'ing reason. Not fulfilling at all.

* I've got an iron clad stomach, lined in kevlar in liberal baby tears, but if there's one thing that destroys me, it's the hot sauce at Chipotle. WTF? More than one container, and it's debilitating the following day.

* Narcos: Mexico....

- isabella is worthy of replacing salma hayek on wcc's all-time crush list. that rack. mercy.
- i wanna party with walter breslin/scoot mcnairy. what a cool mf'er.
- quick wiki search on a lot of the ballers in this show, and there are plenty that are still wanted/at large. good for them.

* Briny Baird can still eat a dick. Jeev Milka Singh, too, while we're at it.

* <-- sticking to his investment strategy. Tax advantaged accounts, aggressive, diverse mutual funds. Max every year without panic. Just to be clear.

* Taylor Swift just kills it. I love her entire collection.

^That is a great camp. Did it with my son twice. Best part is how many players you get to interact with and get to know.

And usually they let the campers watch the entire team play pickup ball, including the incoming freshman. Coaches have to leave, as it's against NCAA rules for them to watch. [eyeroll]

Got to watch AD et al playing pickup there in summer 2011. You could tell they were going to be special. It was the trailer for the movie.

My kids plan on watching Outbreak and 12 Monkeys this weekend. Good times. It’s great that I live in the center of Coronavirus USA.
Watched the 2nd Planet of the Apes on Wednesday. Basically, a man made virus kills the majority of people on earf. That was cool.

The Garth thing is funny to me because nearly every Bernie Sanders headline I see I have to do a double take because I always read it as Barry Sanders at first glance.

Re: Corona Beer sales. I thought that was pretty funny, but it makes sense. If in the 80's there was a beer brand called H.I.V., would you expect people to completely disassociate the two?

- Contagion is the movie to get the closest to the current outbreak IMO. Although there are way more deaths.

- Gonna need a list of the Narcos guys that are still on the run. My google searches reveal most are dead or in prison.
