Not being miserable, just wanting to see improvement. It's February 25th.

Instead seeing same **** you've seen since January 1st. Get a 10 point lead - Immediately **** down leg. Let other team right back in it.

Wash, Rinse, Repeat.

GO BIG BLUE! ALL IN! BEAT A 14-13 TEXAS A&M TEAM! WE'RE BACK!

I'm on a cross-country flight only following this board because ESPN.com is slower than Christmas, and reading the comments here I'd assume we were down 15 instead of winning the game by 9. You guys need to relax a little.

Uhm, have you not been reading GYERO for years now? It's kinda how this place works.

Fine guys. Y'all win.

This team is the overwhelming favorite to win the National Title.

No issues at all. What a team. Cal's best coaching job ever. No issues offensively or defensively. Feels like watching 2012/2015 all over again!

I'm tired of slowing **** down when you have the top 5 talented players on the court at pretty much all times.

All it does is lead to losing to bum *** Bruce Weber in March.

You ain’t winning playing not to lose. That’s all we do.

Double that when you’re PG is a scared clown with zero accountability.

* I do think this team right now is ahead of what I thought they would be. Never ever expected Nick or IQ to be what they are. That’s a huge blessing, and has given some hope to an otherwise hopeless and embarrassing team.

Tonight’s team doesn’t lose to Evansville, Utah nor OSU......it seems clear we have improved.

No team we face in the tournament will attempt to speed us up. As a matter of fact because A&M started in a 3/4 court pressure defense we scored 19 point in the first 5 minutes. Then they set back in a zone/half court man most of the rest of game and slowed it down because they weren’t going to be able to keep up and Buzz knew it.

I said it after the UF game, we are a great team for this tournament because we can let you control tempo and beat you however you want to play.

This team is not a world-beater but they are coming together and are light-years above the Evansville / Utah disaster.

They are going to be frustrating all year but all of the kids seem to play their *** off and they are maximizing their potential. If you want to ***** about the Fat Wop not stacking talent like he used to, fine. I've done it. But nothing is going to change this season and this team is hustling its *** off.

I *LOVE* Quickley and Richards. That is exactly what I want to see as a Cat Fan. I hope they lead us deep in March and April.

If you can’t enjoy a 22-5 top ten basketball team because they aren’t the overwhelming favorite to win the tournament (in the complete crapshoot that is the tournament BTW), then you are going to be miserable pretty much every year. What a ridiculously spoiled, entitled, unrealistic, miserable way to follow a college b-ball team, good grief.

I'm encouraged by our team & improvement, and especially by IQ being one of the top 5 guards in the country,

However, I just can't let myself fully believe in a team whose keys ultimately belong to Ashton Hagans. As good as we've been playing & grinding out wins, we win *despite* him, and that's just not a good recipe. :grimace:

One off game from Quickley in March, and we're likely out unless things change with PG1. That's the hard truth.

A couple of reasons why I’m optimistic for a potential deep run..

* Our ace shooter in Quickley isn’t a freshmen for change (Booker, Murray, Monk, Herro all went ice cold in March. Maybe the stage became too big.)

* When teams tend to tighten up and play conservative in the tourney us being a really good free throw shooting team could give us the edge in close grinders.

On the bright side, yes. But you just can’t have your primary playmaker 5-6 turnovers in every game. It’s going to bite us.

Other bright side views:

- Our starting 5 D is becoming nasty. Hagans is probably our most liable perimeter defender and he makes up for most of that with pressure. Quick is outstanding and Maxey is good too. Montgomery is becoming a defensive beast and Richards does a great job. Now our bench is awful ...

- You try to take away the guards- Richards can kill you. Try to take him away, you see what the guards can do.

- And my favorite- everybody sucks.

*!The satisfaction derived from watching players develop over 2-3 years cannot be overstated. Love the one & dones, but watching guys like Quick/Nick/EJ blossom is just something you don’t see much at UK anymore. It’s been awesome.

* If you would have told me at the beginning of the season that we were one player away from a deep run, I would’ve believed you.

If you would have told me that the one player in question was our point guard, I would not have believed you.

* It’s all about matchups.

* UofL lost.

UNC losing.

Duke losing.

Cats won.

What a country.

Montgomery's help defense has improved so much. He has developed a really good feel for shading just enough to help but not so much that he gives up uncontested weak-side rebounds.

Would love the Hoops Insight dude to dive into early year Ashton vs. the last 10 games. Hell, maybe he has already and I missed it.
