- High Fidelity is pretty damn good. Zoe Kravitz is outstanding. There is one obvious weak point- and it’s one of my least favorite TV/movie archetypes- the big-boned, loud, sassy black girl. I mean- how many times have we seen this character? Sometimes it works (Donna Meagle) but mostly it’s played out.

- John Wall doing some recrootin on Kennedy Chandler was pretty awesome. Love that he still comes back.

Chad - if you use childcare in the first five years you will ruin your kid for life. Every decision you make - no matter how small - has a definitive and permanent effect on your child. The bad ones, I mean. The good ones don't really matter much. Really, your overall goal should be to try and limit how many years they have to spend in therapy because of your parenting. Yikes. I missed the part where I said a woman's role is to stay at home with their children and they're ruining their life if they send them to daycare.

My wife works part time and my MIL keeps the kids at our house while she works. It's convenient more than anything.

We have a nanny. It’s very nice. We have friends who take their kids to daycare. It’s seemed to work out just fine. My mom was a stay at home mom, I seem to be a functioning member of society. Our neighbors have the grandmothers trade days - the kids seem cool. I would say any of the above would be great, good luck!

-sooo...this oldest to college is moving along. She wants to stay in state...so we did all the state schools/small privates of note.

-Its like buying a car. No one pays sticker price. Small privates are generous/pursue harder...their goal is to get cost "in the ballpark" of state schools. State schools are less aggressive in general...but we have one making a *hard* play(close to full ride).

-i have to admit i like the idea of small private for many reasons, one of which is pride tbh...but it looks like shes leaning in another direction which will make my wallet *much* happier.

-so basically what im saying...is that im likely gonna be paying less for college than chad is for daycare, lmao.

-also chad...dont forget orthadonture and dip-tet.

-whats really happening is that middle-class folks have become accustomed to luxury items/food/travel etc...that were limited to the "well-off" in generations past.

As a stupid, Bernie-slurping librul I worked at home a lot and took care of my boys when they were young. I was pretty good at it! And I easily changed more diapers than my wife, which she refuses to believe but is true.

-Tried telling you all. One of the most intensive long term studies on human development basically says that parents, other than genetics, are vastly overrated. So, get a coke and chill.

-Everyone, just get your MIL to watch your kids, that's the preferred method. K. STFU Cricket, I'm going to end up trouble over this.

-We had a nanny for most of the first year, that was nice, except they're always at your house. So if you run home for lunch. There. Sneak out early for a quick nap. There. With daycare, I get those little 30-45 windows of quiet and WORSHIP.

If it was a viable option I'd stay at home. I'd be perfectly fine taking my kids to Chick-Fil-A, the library, the playground, trampoline parks, etc. every day rather than working and talking to you a**holes all day.

I went to several #elite private schools and then married a wife who works and sent my kids to daycare and now public schools (and not even “independent” public schools!) so I feel like I’m qualified to both judge and be judged on these matters.

Nobody’s figured any of this out*.
