Don't mind that he doesn't yell and scream at Hagans if that's how you get through to the kid. Some respond to that **** and others will just shut down. Obviously, Quickley and Maxey respond to it. Might explain Hagans issues, tbh.

With the exception of the Vandy game, Hagans has been bad since the last UGA game.

The TOs are the most obvious, but when he drives he isn't going all the way to the basket looking to score. In the last 3 games, he has been to the FT line a grand total of 2 times. He played over 30 minutes in all 3.

Believe it or not, despite leading the non Prickett world in missed layups, he has been a pretty good 2-pt shooter this year. 45.6% (compared to IQ's 41.3% for example). He is driving in there with either no clue what he is going to do or with a predetermined idea of where he is going to pass it.

Earlier in the season he was going up strong and other making (or missing) a shot at the rim or getting fouled. He needs to be more aggressive, but not out of control.

I don't think Cal wants to throw Hagans in people's faces, I think he knows a good Hagans is needed if we want to win it all.

Right now, he is consistently inconsistent.

Maybe a pat on the head, orange slice, and a "pretty please stop being so careless" would work. At this point, I don't give a **** what it takes, just fix him.

MSU
Gonzaga
Kansas
Auburn (after we beat them this weekend)
Baylor

I'd also rather not have to beat Louisville again, but it would be extra sweet if we did.

I want no part of Baylor's ability to spread it out and drive you. Creighton looks tough too.

Maryland doesn't scare me at all. They always flame out, it seems. Seton Hall will win the most exciting game of Round 2 and from there it'll be iffy.

Thanks, 80!
Sure miss the good ole days of going out to the bars, getting free drinks and finding some hussy to have b’day sex. Instead I’m at the Hematologists getting 1-2 pints of blood drained, then limping my weak *** home to bed so I can rest up and take my weekly treatment at 7. At least I’ll still feel like I’ve been run over by a semi in the morning but the only ***** I’m gonna see is my 20 lb Bengal trying to get me to throw his toy so he can fetch...sad!

Pretty sure this is the same time last year Hagans made his downturn. As weak as basketball is this year just get him back to playing like the first of the year and I’m not worried about playing against anyone. GOOOOOO!!!!

- That BYU ball screen continuity being run by 24-28 year old men with YMCA game is kinda dangerous. Ask Gonzaga.

- Kansas is the best team in the country. No one else has a Shaq and Dotson and Garrett have improved a lot this season. I watched basketball all day Saturday and that Baylor/KU game was played on a different level than any other game I saw. Top flight athletes. Great on-ball defense on the perimeter and front court guys playing way above the rim in beast mode. Those 2 are legit.

- I've slept on it, and I was redassed Saturday for no real reason other than being at home all day and HENPECKED. But still, our HOF coach needs to get the ball to either one of our 2 best players in crunch time instead of just "hoping" the ball finds them and they make a play. A nice quick hit set out of the under 8 timeout to get one a look would be nice. Remember that "hammer" set he'd draw up for J. Murray? I know he has these plays in his bag, I just don't understand why he's so hesitant to hand the reigns to IQ. Is it a protestant/catholic thing?

- District tournament week.

That's true, but going from 15 to 3 with him out of the game kind of shows he doesn't "singlehandedly keep us from blowing teams out." He gets plenty of help in that department.
Hence the reason I started that post with “I know it’s not all his fault”.

Hagans is important to our team success, unquestionably. But live ball careless turnovers that almost always lead to the other team scoring are a staple of his game and it usually kills our momentum.

Not sure how Hagans can’t trouble you at this point. Six GD turnovers and it wasn’t an especially bad performance from him.

If/when we lose in March, his decision making is going to be the big reason.

And the secondary reason? The cheatin’*** refs.

If Cal leaves anytime soon, which I doubt, and we don’t interview Mark Pope then I’ll be pissed.

That guy’s team had a basketball IQ I haven’t recognized in years here. Sometimes it was even something as simple as recognizing a mismatch and attacking it, realizing a player was in foul trouble and attacking him, or just passing to the wide open player off a dribble drive.

Extremely impressed by BYU’s performance.

Again- some of his guys are legit 25 years old.

- Was way ahead of the media dorks on Creighton. Now I’ll be way ahead of everyone and jump off.

- Which teams are you keeping an eye on, SAE? Always look forward to your basketball breakdowns.

I understand there is an age difference, but those kids had an excellent grasp on what they were doing and trying to accomplish.

Also their top 4 scorers are Childs(22 yrs), Toolson(23), Haws(24) and Barcello(21).

I don’t think the players age should discredit him at all, and my point was more about how prepared they were. They clearly were not the more talented team on that court, but they were able to overcome that with his coaching.

It was impressive regardless.

Who could forget this ******* leading the charge with the racist narrative leading up to the Cornell game in the 2010 Sweet 16. Ahh, a bunch do good wealthy, white kids from the Northeast playing a bunch of inner city, poor black kids abusing the sanctity of college basketball by using it as a platform to play the game at the highest level and make millions of generational type wealth money.

I don’t think I’ve ever been so fired up and that includes Forde & Thamel going through extreme
measures to get Bledsoe’s high school transcript to ruin his career all because of a personal vendetta against Cal.

Then Mags went on Shaughnessy’s radio show to defend UK’s players and despite those New England chap ******** playing banjo music in the background when Mags spoke he absolutely ran circles around them.

Man, I miss those early Cal days. The elite level talent. The us against the world deal. Cal constantly taking shots at Pitino/UL and backing it up. All of it. It was intoxicating.

Yeah, we already hired a guy based on 1 win, no thanks.

Sometimes, it seems, Willy uses cherry-picked stats and partial quotes from people to try and prop up his own opinion. It's extremely lazy and needs to be called out.

Obviously most have him blocked by now, but for the rest of us- how bout you clean it TF up, Willy

Any one thing I typed that you don't agree with? Anything at all?

I actually think it would be amazing if they just put one BJW on the search committee. Just some guy from Lancaster or Hodgenville to keep everyone honest. May not be a bad idea for the AD to employee the fella permanently.

Still pissed when Pitino tried to appeal to that faction with his horseshit “they should hire Travis Ford or John Pelphrey” comments after we sent the drunk packing.

I don’t hate the uniforms nearly as much as others. Good fit. Actually blue and white. The checkerboard is trying too hard but besides that, not a bad uni.
