OK, I agree with that. Middle ground. The Journey can be rewarding, especially on the upward climb. My point is, Big Picture Perspective, which lines up with your apt reminders that we are fans of The Greatest Tradition in [THE HISTORY OF/ REDUNDANT] College Basketball.

I guess my point is, F The Twitter/KSR Effect. If we still relied on Cat Paw print edition, we'd probably be celebrating a win over OSU and have forgotten about Utah, by the time it hit our mailboxes.

I don't know man, I've been getting redassed about "meaningless" UK basketball games since before Al Gore invented the internet. Maybe you're getting older and more concerned with the overarching goals, which I get, but the possession to possession insanity (both exhilarating and infuriating) has always, and will always, play a pretty huge role in UK basketball for me.

Maybe championships should be the only thing that matter to me, but they aren't. Enduring boring, stilted, slogfests for 3/4 of the year before we turn into a good team drives me nuts. I want to enjoy the entire season, not just the second half of the SEC season and the tournament.

I wasn't raised to watch cakes bake.

OK, where to begin. Dammit, I don't disagree. Guess all I can really say is that from the time I was a kid until age 40+, I'd travel anywhere and the wins were magical.

I was an over-the-top Cal guy from 07 til we hired him. I've said many times here that my first UKBB season was 75 - when we lost to UCLA and went down 10-4.

As a cbb fan I'm extremely lucky that in my rooting lifetime only Duke has more titles (5-4). And that we even have 4.

In March 2012, I was pretty fng happy. Since then, decreasingly happy each year.

UCL's post last night was good- I don't think I'm a good fan or a bad fan - just a tired one.

They're returning next year to work toward a masters, right? Both guys, especially Young, have NFL potential. I was banking on us having four returning starters on the offensive line next year.

- Love how the NCAA is getting the blame for this Wiseman thing. It’s Penny’s fault. If he had an ounce of consideration for the kid’s career, he would have recused himself from the recruitment. If you think $11k is all he paid the dude, lol.

- I get less black&white as I get older with UK basketball. Final 4s are a huge accomplishment to me. That said, anything less than an Elite 8 is still a failure. That hasn’t changed.

- Five years ago today, UK laid waste to UCLA, rolling to a 41-7 halftime lead. The UK-UCLA era during the Alford regime was very interesting.

- My FIL and I are undefeated watching UK-Louisville in both sports and I’ll be in Virginia on the 28th so we got that going for us.

- Maxey is too good to keep shooting like this. I trust him. So, that makes him and Hagans- and Brooks to a much, much lesser degree. The rest of these dudes need to get their **** together.

- Been playing the **** out The Pogues’ “Fairytale of New York”- my current all-time favorite Christmas song.

* Pretty much 100% of the posters supporting UKFB and Stoops in their blasting of Ron Mehico yesterday would've been on a football ***** bus earlier this season, if there was one.

* Tomorrow is going to be a tough one in the Wildcat Willy household... a bit of a Civil War or House Divided LOLOL!!!, if you will, with the Cats vs the Buckeyes. I'm sending her and the kids to the neighbor's house so I can watch the game in peace. Seriously, she doesn't follow OSU basketball hardly at all, but if we lose to them again it will really piss me off and I'm sure drunk me will hold it against her.

* Smoke roasted some tri tips for yesterday's office pot luck. Excellent.

A vendor is bringing in brisket and pulled pork from City BBQ today.

* Haven't even started Christmas shopping yet.

FYI if you use Alexa you can link your Best Buy account and get Amazon Smart Plugs for $5 a piece through their voice only deals. I’ve never even seen the cheap knockoff ones at that price before.

I have a friend who waits until Christmas Eve to go to the mall and do all of his shopping then. He’s an even more #smug fella than myself and can certainly afford to do things differently but loves for the thrill, I guess.

It’s extremely admirable.

I do not live and die with every game , it is too long of a season. I live and die on the whole season. I get redassed as much as the next fan, but i do not let it simmer. Last year we made the Elite 8, had a chance for a Final 4, lost to a team we had all ready beat twice. I was mad we lost, but not destroyed. We had a chance, just came up a little short. At the end of the day having a legit chance is all I ask for. Now, Cal and his square hole, round peg ****, I do let that carry over. he has to make changes in the way he coaches. These kids I think are scared to make a mistake. the is the only logical explanation I can come up with when a guy leaves and suddenly he is the sniper he was suppose to be. The kid is not looking over his shoulder, not getting screamed at by a lunatic.

Its if the 'high end' Mexican restaurant type of place if that's even a thing. Taco Luchador type place if you are familiar, better than your typical Mexican place but no different than the other taquerias that have been popping up the last several years.

I live in columbus so if we lose tomorrow I’m going to be in an even shittier mood than yesterday reading all the bitching

my sister had a giant poster of George Michael laying against a tree looking like a huge gaf hanging in her closet door growing up as she was obsessed with him, one of the best days of my teenage years was informing her he was incredibly gay. He had some bangers though - freedom is pretty solid.

I’m off all next week - first full week I’ve taken off in over 2 years - got that giddy feeling I used to have before big breaks in college. Taking the 2 and half year old to Frozen 2 tomorrow, her first movie ever. Excited to see her reaction and hopefully she won’t lose it half way through
