Yeah, there's no semblance of an offense. So no one knows when to expect that the ball is going to them, so they're of course not ready to shoot it when they catch it.

-Goddam this November/December shitshow stuff is enough to make it miserable. Can't pull the top 5 guys anymore? Fine. At least grab 1 dude a class in that 50-100 range so he sticks around a few years. That way you have 2 or 3 of those guys when **** hits the fan... for instance 4 injured starters.

That sounds good in theory but every one of those type of players Cal has signed all think they are one & dones. They aren't going to sit the bench and bide their time while getting recruited over, IE Baker.

All those box canyon towns are very cool. Did you make it to Four Corners? That's a destination you have to want to go to very badly. It's like driving to the end of the earth.

It's cool, but all the vendors selling souvenirs and crafts all around the monument is odd. Best part about it is its right in between 2 national parks and Monument Valley, with Mexican Hat, Goosenecks, and Valley of the Gods along the way. Just have to watch out for the donkeys in the road.

The real question is did the fans do a good job cheering on their team tonight or no?
I was worried some college kids were gonna get their feelings hurt on Twitter tmfs

Otoh students staying home from these games UK’s US News rankings since it shows a level of perception and rational thinking that none of us apparently possess.

Even tmfh would have happily taken a break from hazing and demoralizing a young pledge SAE to attend last nights game. So that’s no excuse.

If college kids would spend 3 hours drinking at a hotel lobby bar and then go to the game UK would shoot gooder.

Students have no excuse, but most Billy Joe Wildcats aren’t driving across the state on a weeknight to watch the Cats play like uninspired dog **** against a putrid Utah Valley State.

Stay home, watch it on TV, enjoy.

Or, buy overpriced tickets, go to the game, get redassed watching them play, spend $50 on gas station food at halftime, get more redassed in the 2nd half because you paid to watch them play like ****, drive home 2 hours wishing you’d just watched on TV.

Pretty simple choice, IMO.

To get me to drive to Rupp on a week night will require 1st 10 row seats if we’re playing a *******, or playing a game against a nationally relevant team. 15 games against Queef U, and then playing awful in those games, is going to result in attendance drops. Tough f*cking titty for the team and administration. I can’t say I give a single tiny **** about their feelings on that.

The ****** home schedule is definitely not cool, but I do wonder if it would be easier to swallow if we could anticipate we would beat the piss out of these teams and put on a show doing it. But we know how these games are going to look year in and year out.

I totally get that. But I also don't think the season should start this early anyway. Madness was October 11. The NCAA should start basketball practice when the fall semester starts September, allow some exhibitions in early and mid November, and then plan a full day of made for TV games on Black Friday to completely dominate the coverage.

Let NCAA basketball dominate on Black Friday while the hens are out shopping and NCAA football dominate that Saturday with rivalry week or whatever.

That does not address that it is weird how this team went from looking pretty damn enticing in everything through the Michigan State game and literally like it has the beginnings of an opiate addiction since then. But it would stoke interest. Other than obligation to the alma mater, why would anyone show up on a bleak Monday night to watch UK play Utah Valley State when you can stay home and watch it in high definition?

I don’t care if we were going to beat Utah Valley State by 50, I’m not going to an 8pm Monday night college b-ball game in November. It’s an awful time. Were early games not usually played on a Saturday afternoon or weekend back in the day? Am I going insane and completely imagined that? Was the game against EKU after Michigan State when we were ranked number 1 and beat the **** out of them packed and rowdy? You know, when you guys were comparing us to 2012 and loving the announcers after our 2nd game? Pretty sure that game wasn’t sold out.

The home schedule may suck, but if it helps ease your concerns — we’ve got an upcoming midweek game against an inferior conference opponent in Las Vegas. Just before Christmas, you’ve got a chance to drop thousands of dollars on a run of the mill Monday to Thursday vacation. And if really tickles your fancy, go ahead and make it an entire week. Best $10,000 you’ve ever spent.

Pretty much rack Chase. I went to my first game last night in 2 years. Was handed premium tickets and decided, what the hell.

Drove around behind Maxwell street and up and down Rose for 30 minutes looking for free parking. Gave up and paid $20 at a church where I think 3 brothers just bought construction safety vests and flashlights and took my cash. Ate chick-fil-a at half time which is marked up about 2.5x what it would cost going through a drive-through.

I live 15 min from Rupp and never have a desire to go. Parking sucks, traffic sucks, the food is overpriced and the environment is awful. The loudest moment of the entire night was the free biscuit chance on missed free throws.

Tickets online for $7 before tip should tell UK everything they need to know about the future.

Correct.

Flight - Free
Room - Free
Drinks - 90% Free

^ these things are easy for pretty much anyone unless you only carry a Cincy Reds Credit Card from 1998.

Only way I 'spend' over $1000 is if I get murdered on the tables/bets - but I'm not an irresponsible gambol, so that's highly unlikely.

Actually heading out this weekend for a practice run, how much do I need to take? Only 3 nights, so maybe $7500?

Put Lynn Bowden on the team after the bowl game. Him and his 72 tattoos may scare our team into actually playing a decent basketball game. I'm sure he has a better suited college game than Hagans.

Sure I'm in the minority but never really found Vegas that amusing. Especially now you can gambol pretty much anywhere, except KY.

It's pretty boring out there, I get it.

-Was last night the worst ever 26pt performance by a kate? It's gotta be up there.

Any updates on EJ, or has Cal not seen or talked to him? What about Allen?

You can watch a concert anywhere justa, but that doesn't stop you from going out West to your favorite venues every chance you get. Same deal. Bad take.

-Ursch's recent Vegas performances are pretty well documented, btw. What exactly are you dropping thousands upon thousands of dollars on out there? (bachelor party excluded) You don't gamble. You drink stricly domestics. You don't eat a lot b/c only fat people do that. You stay at the Best Western.

Do you donate 1K to the city for each run or what? Bottle service? I crush nice restaurants, drinks, and gamble basically non stop...and don't even sniff the figures you throw out time and time again when this topic comes up.

(Wife in tow changes things a bit for sure, but still not even *close* to what you act like it costs to have a great time out there)

I would say, like usual, the truth is somewhere in the middle. I have no idea how you get a free hotel in Vegas - and most people don’t either. Cheap flight for sure. Gambling, good food, a show, some shopping is all very expensive. I don’t think it’s unexpected to be paying in the thousands for a 5 day stay in Las Vegas (about 2-3 days too many frankly and definitely not 10k), as is evidenced by the billion dollar casinos that keep growing.

Yeah... Same

Flight - free
Room - Free

It's really not hard if you have any sort of income to load up on flight cards and go anywhere you want whenever you want.

Planning another trip to Bali in April. Free flight. Apartment on beach - $600 for a month.

Will spend less out there then I would in the US in a month, easily.

But hey, credit cards are stupid and all...

-I don't drink, don't gamble, and carry a Visa card with Cinderella Castle on it, and even I find Vegas enjoyable.

-Man, how bad must EKU be?

-Saw FYLM at our Death Star Kroger the other day. Good to catch up with him. He said he'll always be proud to be a GYERO.

-Hard to read into three weeks of NBA action, but goodness gracious, Darius Garland is strug-ga-ling. I realize when the Cavs dropped to 4 their hands were basically tied, and maybe they tried to trade down, but picking a PG coming off an injury, when you already have Sexton, doesn't seem to have Beilein's fingerprints all over it.

-Can't wait for the Warriors' season to crater and then see them luck into drafting Wiseman, then come back for skulls next year.

Do you gamble Ron? Like, at all? I am *not* a high roller, or even close & I'm fully comped for nearly every stay at every Ceasars Hotel except Palace & Cromwell.

Sign up for the Casino Rewards Card of your choice use it for everything every time you go (and book direct), then enjoy & book your free (or heavily discounted) rooms when your offers arrive, which they will often.

Or, regular Credit Card rewards.

I mean, even forgetting all that ^, on TRIVAGO right now, rooms for Dec 18-22:

MGM: $37
Harrahs: $38
Flamingo: $48
Mirage/Paris/PH: $70
Aria: $129
Cosmo: $145

...I mean, that's a LOT of work left to get to 10K, or even 5K, for a 3.5 day (4 night) trip. I certainly won't, but Different strokes I guess. Enjoy your suites, limos, strip clubs, shopping sprees, bottle service, and tasting menus.

-I don't think I can handle another guy out there loafing around taking long jumpers so... EJ can take his time. Quickley needs to get back ASAP. WTF is a chest injury?

-We're going to do the thing today where going to Vegas is stupid. K.

-Waiting for Cawood and HK to call. Maybe they're with LM.

-I actually don't think we're that bad... with these young teams we've seen focus being an issue. Engaged and we basically had our way with the preseason #1. Not engaged with a couple missing pieces and we're losing to Evansville. I think we're fighting that and a coach that refuses to change, at least this early, to a style that fits his cast but not his preference. I mean, Quickley, Hagans, Maxey are hell on wheels when on the same page. Richards is a completely different player and Sestina is really good.

Gonna try and pretend I'm waiting until we're healthy to form an opinion, but cot damn it's hard.

I'll say this, Quickley is up there as the most indespinsable guy on the team this year imo. As Anth mentioned last night, amazing how much better a couple of seasoned guys look, despite being less "talented" (supposedly) than the others.

-Mark Madsen was nearly unrecognizable last night, I thought.
