Again, he took a similar team to the title game, Kennedy, so how do you know?

It's a very small sample size that's been skewed by all of the COVID super seniors.
Super Seniors are still eligible next year so its the most appropriate sample size.

But you're right as long as Adou Thiero can turn into Junior Alex Poythress and Ugo can turn into Sophopmore Willie Cauley Stein we basically have the same team.

Dont forget someone has to randomly come off the bench and be a shocker to help us in the E8 like Marcus Pee did. Someone we don’t have, since we have 8 effing players right now.

And then Dillingham is going to have to hit the 3 most clutch shots in school history in consecutive games.

Definitely can be replicated and definitely my goal for the season. Gold standard ATKOT. Great point Vern.

Poythress was a sophomore on that squad. Both scenarios are very possible.

If there’s one thing I know about UK basketball, it’s that they keep their pieces consistently from year to year so yeah, ‘25 is looking GREAT!

There is a culture problem with this program along with a disconnect between Cal and pretty much everyone else involved in UK athletics. It has the recipe to be a bad time.

I don’t ever see things his way. . . but I sure do hope Vern is right. There is potential on this roster to get some **** done. They’re talented. But what are they playing for? That’s the 9 million dollar question.

Have thought from Day 1, and still feel, Reeves was the most important returnee of any given our roster construction, or lack thereof. We Can't really afford (no pun intended) to be all "F him, get lost" for obvious reasons, but he's creating quite the additional pressure on himself with this ******** dance if he DOES return.

Either way. Make a decision, JFC.

He can't, he has to go out of his way to take extra Summer classes so he can graduate so he can leave.

Yea. 0% chance

What a GD clusterf***.

Hey maybe we'll beat Tennessee though so 3/4ths of you can enjoy the season like this past year. Still the most embarrassing part of the year was the National Title like celebration after that. Abhorrent. The regular season is the means to an end. Seems most have forgotten the standard.

Oh but we waxed Kansas the year they won the title! It's a successful season!!!!!

"They only hang banners here for common regular season occurances anymore...."

Sad.

We celebrated a much needed win, over our 2nd biggest rival.

You will always be on the wrong side of history on this one.

No one hung a banner, nor has been satisfied with any of the last few seasons.

Get Reeves back and I can fairly easily talk myself into a good squad.

I think Edwards and Wagner will be studs.

Bradshaw and Dillingham are wildcards.

Oyenso can be a good shotblocker/rim runner.

Throw in some likable X-factor role guys like Reed and Thiero and we could have a fun team.

But we need Reeves back.

Just watched a video of Hart. Kid takes it to the rim and hits shots with people in his face.
With or without Reeves, I think we need another shooter.

I think this Jordan Burke’s guy will be the first Kentucky player I’m going to openly root against. What a dbag statement to make. Idc if it IS true, you don’t say that out loud.
He also said this in the ksr article:

“I said I wanted to be a Kentucky Wildcat when I was nine, ten years old, and look what happened.”

Plus I’m not gonna give a 18-year old a hard for rambling on in an interview. He’s clearly just complimenting Cal and not trying to dog UK.

How the F do you know?

Because John Calipari told me. He told us all when he recruited about 975 different guys BEFORE eventually finding this dude still out there and begging him to take a scholarship out of total desperation.

I hope he has a great career, but the situation our coach has put this program in is quite pathetic.

Well, while I agree, Wagner is considered our 3rd best prospect in next years draft. Bradshaw is currently 1/2, Edwards 5-7, and Wagner is projected anywhere from 10-16.

I hope Wagner is what our season depends on because he comes off as having that “it” factor and ability to outperform expectations.

That said, I legit think from what I saw of Bradshaw that he is capable of having a Anthony Davis type season.

We may struggle game 1 against Kansas in Chicago, but I suspect after that we’ll be on a tear and make a statement on whoever we draw between OSU, UCLA or UNC in that little grouping we are involved in.

To me this season is going to come down to how big of a bad *** Wagner is. And he better be the best guard since John Wall or we’re gonna be in some serious ****.
I agree entirely. Pretty bad *** to end your high school career with a fight. In all seriousness, I fully expect Wagner to be our best player while competing for SEC POY honors.

I don’t forget it at all. His impact on the game went past just his 14/10/5 numbers.

But I think at 7’ with quick aggressive guards/wing like we have Bradshaw will get a lot of help blocks. He won’t break Davis’s record or even get close but he will impact the game with the same ability.

IMO he will be the main player to Cal’s system getting back to something he knows. His whole system is based on a player to lob it to or “miss high off the board” and let a Bradshaw type clean it up. On the other end his defensive scheme being strictly man is to funnel kids to the lane for a guy like Bradshaw to protect the rim.

Also, I don’t suspect any of these kids as being the little *****/scared types. They play, and they play to win from everything they’ve shown. They aren’t JUST coming here to use us for the pros, they are coming here to win.
