I just flat out never believed we could recruit a defensive front with the depth and speed to challenge even the midlevel teams of the SEC much less the cream of the crop. Felt like Kentucky football needed to be B12ish...find a great QB, good skill positions and a defense with just enough playmakers to keep the other team from outscoring you. That's how I thought you reach the ceiling of UK football in the modern era.
Stoops has proved that to be dead wrong. Our defense looks like what we are used to seeing from Florida, we just swarm to the ball. It's impressive and fun as hell to watch.

Who the **** watches commercials any more?
The tv timeout commercials at the game last week were brutal. They are now 3:10 long and felt twice that. Prob felt longer due to gummy consumption.
- I geeked out over the Air Raid and Mumme. When you've attended 6-3 field goal contests vs. IU in the driving Lexington rain, anything that brought some sense of excitement was met with open arms. Mumme introduced me to tailgating. Before that, you would amble into a shadowy, grey Commonwealth around kickoff and watch the Cats get drilled by bigger, stronger, faster SEC squads on a slowly dying, brown bermuda turf. Probably why the Germans blindly followed Hitler I reckon.
Continuity matters as much as raw talent. We have Wright, Jones, and Square with 50+ college games under their belt. Just really great college players.
I don’t know enough CFB history to say, but I feel like if Stoops can accomplish his goals here, which aren’t so distant and impossible anymore, would he go down as one of the best college coaches ever? Is that insane? Just doing at a place like UK, and literally building brick by brick to reach the top. Who’s done that? Most coaches would have already left this place.
I’m convinced the ornery red one will be here till he does it, too. Might be 10 years from now, but that SOB is gonna do it and the old white SEC is going to be so pissed. Mark will just grin like a happy lil piglet and thank everyone for their hard work and contributions to the program. He really is such a likable guy...
...contrast him to jackass personalities across the game like...Jimbo Fisher. Nobody is going to miss that mouth at A&M. James Franklin. John Vincent Calipari because I choose to go there once again. There are a lot of folks making more than Mark Stoops who definitely do not deserve it based on their performance at powerhouse programs that were built long before them.

Loved Mumme ball but there is absolutely nothing better than a true pro style offense with a solid, fundamental defense. We had that to a degree with Brooks, but Stoops ball is my bread and butter. Line up, hit somebody is what football is to me.
Just finished Cobra Kai and loved Season 5. The ending definitely left you to wonder what is in store for season 6. Chozen is my favorite character on the show. Amanda LaRusso is smoke in the episode where they are at the night club.

I’m not an animal, so I usually watch the CATS in the ESPN App on my AppleTV 4K. When a commercial comes on, I click “out” of the full screen UK game so I can see the three other live games on ESPN/ABC (along with the UK game commercials). Then I swipe on the remote to change the audio to whatever game I’d like to check in on while keeping an eye on the UK game. When the commercial break is over, I click on the UK game and return to full screen.

Can’t speak for UCL, but as an old, commercial breaks track nicely with piss breaks.
I would guess he means he doesn't sit there and pay attention to them, of course you have to sit through them nbut that's when I hit up CAYTPAW, IG, ESPN Box Score, text buddies and mom, etc.
It’s 2022 and I have developed the attention span of a gnat, so I find another game or stare at ******** on my phone. I assume this is what most people do.
- I’m convinced Stoops will be here until Saban leaves Bama, and history will repeat itself.
- Spent 2 hours this AM listening to Tax incentives/Credits for distilleries. I should care about that, but I’ll be damned if it didn’t almost put me to sleep and boil down to more minute detail nuance I have to keep an eye to make sure employees hours are spot on, tours meet quota, and gift shop sales generate the exact right amount of sales tax.
- Nephew is going thru a break up and not taking it so well. Wife didn’t like my advice to an 18YO kid who makes straight As, takes college courses in HS, plays football and works 32 hours a week.
Even though I agreed we like the girlfriend honestly, but buddy if she thinks she needs space then give it to her and go hook up with every girl you can and get real life experience.

- Next 3 weeks we have a 3YO, 11YO, 14YO, mamaw, and my birthday. As well as Bill Burr.
- I dropped the ball on Fall break this year. Planned nothing and asked if we could do a staycation………..which was met with a resounding “what’s that”.
- Our stolen car claim is still not worked out, and we have to drop her car off for a whole week to give another adjuster proper and adaquate time to evaluate the estimate with the shop we use.
Wife explained no problem, but we have 7 kids and we need a bigger SUV. That was met with a different kind of stuck on stupid stubbornness.
“Well ma’am we have a Kia Soul or a Honda CRV within 10 miles of you but that’s it.”
Ok we’ll go outside 10 miles then so we can go into Louisville, please.

Once this is over we are switching all of our insurance. I’ll never in my life go through this again. 3 months in and “well just be happy you got your car back, most don’t”.

Krazy graduated with accounting and finance degrees, but I never went the public route even though I did get my masters too so I could test. Then I said F all that!
Other than that wasn't Beamer's first coaching gig. He was at Murray State for 6 years before being hired by VT. He replaced Mike Gottfried at Murray. Pretty good stepping stone job back in the day. Houston Nutt is another.

Stoops will never be the Alabama coach. Or Ohio State. Bama will go the route of Dabo or Lincoln Riley, especially the latter since he's all about jumping to a better job first chance he gets. Ohio State will have Ryan Day for a long, long time.

I didn't know his story, but interestingly enough Frank Beamer's record at VaTech was 61-51-2 in his first 10 years. HOFC Mark Stoops is 61-53 in his first 10 years at UK.
Frank Beamer was badly burned in a freak gasoline accident. Pretty tough SOB.
Stoops has accomplished bigger wins more quickly than Beamer, going 10-3 Citrus Bowl Champs in his 6th season in Lexington. This was followed by a bit of bad luck in the famous Lynn Bowden year where Stoops toughed out a remarkable 8-5 year capped with a beatdown of VT*. Of course, Stoops has done all this in the SEC.
If Stoops coached here for 29 years, no doubt in my mind he would surpass everything Beamer accomplished, and would obviously be another football legend named Stoops.

Would think there would only be a few jobs/states Stoops would want. Most of the ones he's mentioned for are laterals at best. Throw in the uncertainty of the health of certain conferences and the list narrows.

Stoops keeps winning 10 games a year and he’ll be able to go anywhere he wants. He’s got the ball rolling so hard downhill right now that it makes way more sense to stay here than you would normally expect, but I’d be shocked if he retires in Lexington.
Money has totally changed the landscape of college football. There’s tons of better jobs than Kentucky, but there are not a ton that can offer more than we can.

Finally, a chill Friday night! Somehow got out of the HS game tonight because it’s “away” at Bullitt Central which is actually closer than home at Bullitt East.
