Who hurt you little Chadwick?

My father was a relentlessly self-improving boulangerie owner from Belgium with low-grade narcolepsy and a penchant for buggery. My mother was a 15 year old French prostitute named Chloe with webbed feet. My father would womanize. He would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. My childhood was typical- summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring, we’d make meat helmets. When I was insolent, I was placed in a burlap sack and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really. At the age of 12, I receive my first scribe. At 14, a Zoroastrian named Vilmer ritualistically shaved my testicals. There really is nothing like a shorn scrotum. It’s breathtaking. I suggest you try it.

- Sharpe to Portland. Perfect. The one time I had a brief, fleeting "fandom", and they take the guy who kicked my favorite college program (and team) squarely in the balls. Welp, time to find a new team for my fleeting, barely-there "fandom".

- Sure seems like the Spurs, Rockets and Pistons were the big winners last night. Houston and Detroit have the makings of something good, but San Antonio needs to figure out some things with that roster. That Dejounte Murray-for-John Collins trade rumor makes sense for them.

- Dogs are so flaky. Something has spooked mine and she won't eat from her bowl when it's in its regular spot (in one of those plastic mats next to her water bowl). She'll drink from the water bowl, which is also in that plastic mat, but won't get near the food unless we take the bowl out and put it somewhere else. FURBABIES!!!

- Happy Smackoff Day.

Yes - Kansas and North Carolina in the most important metrics. I suggest we obsess over them.

-I'm with you...unc, KU and ucla are threats to our legacy. I put Duke in the uavel category...one coach programs. I mean what the cards did with pitino was cool and all...but it didn't really happen because whores.

Apparently asking someone in a polite and courteous manner “do you know how stop signs work?” after you end up at the same destination makes you the bad guy.

-Austin Powers doesn't seem to get the love it deserves. At the time that **** was hilarious. Could be one of those series that the youngins bring back.

-Brutal outcome for Tyty. Good kid, good demeanor, he'll be fine in a good organization.

-I think Banchero was the easiest choice. I'd be shocked if he's a bust. I believe in Chet but would be scared of injuries and Smith has the highest bust potential of the 3.

-SAE and I have been rebranded as the Blush Brothers. This is really a great thing for our relationship. Just a couple powerful dudes in our prime enjoying delicious wine.

-Found some OF Rye yesterday, which has been scarce, picked up 4 bottles. #bookergoosehording

-Hit my goal weight a week early. 💪

-Went for an annual physical and this overweight doctor is lecturing me on my bp being a few points high and cholesterol at the higher end of normal. K, bub. Clean up that gut hanging over your belt and get back to me.

-Watched more playoff hockey than ever. **** is intense.

-TDF next week, y'all. LFG.

- I’d be careful with any sort of road encounters these days.

- I’m certainly concerned with Duke. I’m concerned with everyone. But this focus on brand over results is a lot of the reason we find ourselves where we are. We’re still “cooler” than Carolina and Kansas, but they’re the ones getting it done in March. Duke has one F4 in the past 6 years and it ended in embarrassing fashion. Frankly, they’ve squandered way more talent than anyone. And now they have a rookie coach building his team around freshmen. I’m much more concerned with Carolina (crossing my fingers Hubert isn’t for real) and Bill Self.

- I actually see Smith as pretty bust-proof. He may not be a superstar but he’ll be damn good.

- People keep swearing Rose is good. I’m open minded.

Ultimately it’s been proven that FR talent only does not win! Even Dukes last two most talented teams lost and were heavily dependent on FR.

Whatever.

- Scotty Pippen Jr already signed an undrafted deal with LA. Johnny Juzang still out there.

- Tough reading through all the trades but I think Houston did the most to upgrade their team last night. Smith, Tari Eason and TyTy is a solid group to go with Jalen Green and Kevin Porter Jr.

- The Knicks, lol, I guess are all in on Jalen Brunson or hoping the Nets cave and move Kyrie. No other reason for that team to not pick and stock up future picks and shed salary like they did.

-Memphis didn’t need to crush this draft, but they did well keeping depth built up while planning to not bring back Tyus Jones and Kyle “slo mo” Anderson. We needed a lot more shooting around Ja and we got it big time.

Friday Five

Ryan Bingham - The Poet
Grateful Dead - Casey Jones
Kenny Chesney - You and Tequila
Eric Church - Holdin my Own
Chris Stapleton - Nashville TN

I generally am very careful and try to give people the benefit of the doubt in situations. He was only asked about it after I had almost been t-boned after properly waiting my turn and we ended up at the same place like 20 seconds later.

The downfall of tall guys is foot problems. I’d say Chet is skinny enough to support his own weight and stress.

The interesting thing the talking heads (on various channels) kept repeating was his toughness, which is quite the opposite of Bradley, Porzingis, (insert tall honky name here). I am so curious how this guy pans out.

I give zero predictions on Chet, only that his skill set is bonkers.

~Smith is most definitely not a potential bust in any fashion.

~UK is most definitely not "cooler" than UNC.....sorry, Chad....that ship sailed years ago when Wisky ate your soul, and the last 2 seasons pretty much iced it. A lot of ground to make up to get ocean front instead of ocean view.

Oh, and Hubert is for real. That was pretty much a given from day one if you were a realistic college basketball.

~Oscar would have been an easy first rounder...maybe not a lotto but hopefully he gets in that window next year.

~Glad Silver reminded us of the covid misery we went thru.

-Yanks walk off in the bottom of the 9th sealed a 5 teamer for Dad. I'm sure this will get me ridiculed by you midwestern franchise slobs, but a part of me has real affinity for the Bronx Bombers. An American Institution. A full Yankee Stadium is good for America (the one chief is turncoating).

-Wish Tyty well. He played his *** off in spite of the injuries, but he was downright bad in February/March.

-OOC P5 dream opponents for a home-home:

Michigan
Penn State
Wisconsin
Notre Dame
USC

I'm pretty damn excited about the Cats traveling to Austin and Norman some day.

-Lass' tennis night every Thursday. About 30 minutes of tennis and then they have dinner/drinks. She got home around 11:30 last night. Granted, she's pregnant so she's sober, but I had to ask if everyone else was shithoused. "No, why would you ask that?" Uh, because if I sat on a patio with a group of buddies for 5 hours we'd be sailor drunk. She woke up stressed and angry, in spite of the leisure.

-Little man and I were on our own last night. Angel hair pasta with some fresh pesto and basil, leftover grilled chicken, and some kalamata olives. Not a bad impromptu meal. The kids worship pesto.

-Buddy sent me a pic of him poolside in the south of France this morning. Two young females just laying beside him topless. Maybe what this country ought to do is just F'n RELAX on some things. Let's start with ladies swimwear.

-I do *not* have a stout IRA, but I got just about everything else I want in life. Lucky man.

UNC hit their stride at the right time and that’s fantastic, but if anyone truly believes their “cool” isn’t tied to Duke and the history of coaching legend rivalries your missing a few screws.

John Scheyer and Hubert Davis are walking through those doors and that is not “cool”.

Well for everyone else it kinda is.

Chet has been fawned over by all the cbb scribes all year long. Arkansas largely exposed him and that whole team with physicality and superior athleticism. He's going to be an okay pro, but he's not a franchise-making guy. Banchero can be that guy. Smith, too.

Friday 5
- Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats- S.O.B.
- Crawling Back to You- Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
- Straight Tequila Night- John Anderson
- Hey Delilah- Blackberry Smoke
- Lincoln Town- John Hiatt

1 more year of this guy.

As a fan of the program that lost in the tournament to Peter north, saying 98-69 to a fan of the runner ups makes me sick to my stomach. Even if that fan is from Lexington

Tried to tell y'all about the Rivera yesterday. Rose', baby.

FWIW, we've come along way with the bathing suits. Specifically bottoms. So much so, our pool sent out a message last week about proper family friendly swim wear. You know what? F*ck off. Dads with wayfairs are just fine with the current situation.

Hardy Boys were unreal.

They ran into some pretty unsavory characters ....but never lost their cool

Kids covered a lot of ground - thats all I'm saying.....

Friday Five:
Superstition - Stevie Wonder
Oh Well - Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac
When the Man Comes Around - Johnny Cash
The Wanton Song - Led Zeppelin
Fight the Good Fight - Triumph

Cougar Bait beer has slightly overtaken Fat Tire recently as my absolute favorite beer for all days

Does anyone still maintain old photographs complete with the processed film-paper?

Not JUST an anachronism - I've noticed younger / recent college grads hanging them up - daisy chained together - across work cubicles .....cool to see

Best sandwich recipe?

I need to do something creative/different on focaccia bread specifically

Lovely Bride & First Born both like to roll out the charcuterie boards - last one they did had mini-cheese balls and other speed bumps

Friday Randems:
  • Graduation yesterday for my son… admin moved time of ceremony up by 2 hours last second to avoid rain… they’re still in Covid mindset that everyone is just hanging around their basements jerking off… when you rely on public transportation commute 1.75 hours away, this shocking announcement gave me a thrombosis to hit my bus. ********.
  • The Super and Principal’s remarks at graduation were equally long-winded, meandering and pointless. The Valedictorian and student speeches saved these clowns with well-written prose.
  • Antipasto > Charcuterie
  • Jersey Shore is awesome. If you think different, you haven’t been to towns such as Cape May, Ship Bottom or Spring Lake. Treasures.
  • Glad to turn the page on Shaedon
  • Football SZN
  • Amazing how quick the weather flips this time of year… cool and cloudy, nah… here comes the Sun and it’s roasting.
  • Golf today
  • My son ‘discovered’ my CD collection. All I hear are my 80’s selections blaring from his room. Good little music era.
  • Outside deck. Gummy. High Life’s. Burbs. Tunes.
  • Sonos had a sale last week that I wanted to take advantage of… bummer.
  • Yankee game last night was amazing. F*ck Altuve.

Jesus, a bunch of grown men acting like yuppies over a #GIF.

Turned the page on Sharpe? I sure hate to say this but I have this inkling that he landed in the best possible spot for him to just explode. He isn’t getting “much” recognition by talking heads because they are all too scared to go out on a limb based on the situation. However, next to Dame in a free flowing offense I get the feeling he will be rookie of the year. I won’t really care because it won’t change a thing and it doesn’t mean he would have produced like that under Cal’s tighten up scared March coaching strategy.

I refused to take my muscle relaxer last night after 4/5 margaritas, and I’m feeling it today. Steroids are doing their best though.

CA just reached out for distribution. Eek!

Edit to Add:

In gun control news, Bears LBer was arrested in Chicago for having metal piercing bullets and a high capacity magazine in his vehicle at 630PM. But across town, 61 shot and 10 people murdered last weekend.

Let’s get the millionaire NFL football player though!

Yes. Turn the page.

Shaedon is not on the team I root for now, so I don’t (most of us won’t) give a **** about his daily professional development. If you care to lament on him being Jordan and such a missed opportunity for the ‘21-‘22 Cats - that’s for you to dwell on. I’d rather be entrenched with dudes who currently play for the University.

If I’m being honest, I’m just intrigued to actually see the kid play. I was entrenched in my team last year in which he wasn’t apart of then either.

So I guess I didn’t have a page to turn.

Charcuterie boards are good for about two minutes and then you run out of crackers/bread and the good cheese and the last 60% of it is weird cheese, the chewy meat, mustard and a pickle in your bare hands.

Damn straight- there are ratios to observe, Ron

And theres this psychic blind spot my ladies have w/olives ...:they ONLY get the bland spanish olives --

YOU GOTTA BRANCH OUT AND GET THE STUFFS GARLIC AND KALAMATA ONES AT LEAST --

I need to suddenly go check the freaking kitchen ...I bet it looks like the field during a Tennessee-Ole Miss game right now 🍔🧂🥢🏈
