Sorry august, miscarriage is tough. We had 2 before we had our first born, and 3 more between our 2nd and 3rd child.

Even with four kids my wife still struggles with those miscarriages(mostly because they were her girls most likely).

Show extra care to the mother because that is mentally the one that’s affected the most.

Very sorry

this wasn’t exactly a miscarriage but thank you for the kind words.

Edit: I guess it is all the same, regardless of situation. This one just hit different

Who is ready to get Thundershuck? TG Shuck is bringing his talents back to the Lexington airwaves.

Someone randomly dropping TG Shuck fan fiction on the Paddock back in the day was one of my all-time favorite "Do Wut?" moments on this board. Those moments are what makes this place special, imo. For every tedious argument that's been rehashed a billion times, there are those times when you wake up and find that krazy and brady have been fighting all night over Clash of Clans and it is glorious.

No more masks on planes!!!!
The last major mandate by those power hungry evil people. This wasn't taking license plate numbers in church parking lots, or closing schools for 1.5 school years, but significant nonetheless.

99% of the people at Elton looked happy, having a great time, not a care in the world, only a few loons wearing masks, the police officers and security were even singing and dancing. It was the closest I've felt to 2019 in 3 years.

Flew out yesterday morning: masks required
Flew back last evening: masks no longer required
I'd say 35% of people still wore them, however.
I couldn’t care less if people want to wear them. That’s their choice. I understand. But I’m vaxxed, boosted and have had it. Let me fly to Vegas without feeling like I’m smothering myself.

With everything in place now it should be a person’s choice. It’s insane it took this long.

During my pre-flight ocular pat down routine, which I use to identify useful allies( or useless speed bumps) for when I inevitably have to save an entire plane from a terrorist takeover, those 35% being easily categorized will speed up the process.

I was just making an observation. I was unaware of the change so I had my mask on when I gave my ticket to the gate agent. She was almost offended.

"You don't have to wear that", she scolded.
"What?", I responded.
"The mask, you can take it off", she said with a smirk.

Had I wanted to wear my mask I would have felt like a *****. You know, like 35% of the other people on the plane.

Thank god toddlers in New York City and San Francisco still have to mask. Can't imagine the sheer hysteria and civil unrest that would break out if those little disease monsters were allowed to show up to daycare without a face diaper.

- August, I'm so sorry. Pregnancy loss (no matter how it happens) is a uniquely devastating pain, and far too many of my friends have been through it. I'm sorry it's hit you and yours.

- If you haven't been watching Better Call Saul before now, you better hurry up and catch up. Puppies scent to Nacho. I am also preemptively horrified at Kim's fate, since she doesn't appear in Breaking Bad.

I've never had the experience of appreciating a character more after a prequel/sequel, but Vince Gilligan/Peter Gould pulled it off with Mike. What an absolute G. BCS brings a lot of additional color to Mike's character/motivations in BB. I caught part of the last season on the AMC marathon last weekend and GD, I forgot how dark it got. "Ozymandias" is the GOAT episode of any show, ever.

- I support just one podcast via Patreon (Crime in Sports), and it paid for itself many times over with the bonus episode about Tiger Woods' many, many sloots. Just the list of the porn productions two of the Tiger girls were in read aloud was worth the price of admission. I'm not sure if "Eat My Feet," "Shorty Iz F***in' Yo Mama 2," or the one with "mandingo" in the title was my favorite. I still can't imagine Tiger's weird-*** top-button voice dirty talking. I had also forgotten about his absolutely tremendous voicemail messages to Rachel Uchitel et al. What a time.

- The Ohio Valley sucks for allergies every year, but if you are like me and you've felt like the bottom of a dumpster at a McDonald's for the last week or so, it really is worse this year. All these trees can get PUMPED. How cruel to have beautiful weather like Saturday and not be able to sit outside without wheezing.

- Tuesday tunes:
Wes Montgomery - A Day in the Life
The Midnight - Change Your Heart or Die
Silversun Pickups - The Royal We
Jimi Hendrix - Little Wing

- Anyone else hype for New Orleans here in a month? Still can’t believe PTI is married.

- Canceling cable until September- what’s the point?

- Oscar’s a nice baseline. We’ll see how everything else falls but ****, sounds like we’re getting the NPOY back. That’s something to be happy about.

- Staycation for the wife and me this weekend. Starting the day with a session with her personal trainer, checking into the hotel, grabbing lunch downtown and dinner somewhere in OTR. Toddlers are draining.

- Speaking of, my weirdo daughter loves carrying around spatulas everywhere. One for each hand. You take it away, she melts down. I’m hoping she has the charm and good looks to overcome this peculiar obsession.

- Pulled the trigger on some nice tailored buttondowns in my measurements and wondering what the hell took me so long to do this.

- Caught a few minutes of “A Time to Kill” this weekend and man oh man did Ashley Judd used to have it going on.

- I think Nick Smith will go down as one of the top 5 or so Cal recruiting misses. I realize it was a numbers crunch after Clark had committed and they pretty much had Sharpe(lol) and Wallace in the bag, but still...the kid's a killer.

- Even with all his accolades, it still feels like Miguel Cabrera is underrated. Guess that happens when you spend your entire career playing for a franchise with one fan (Marlins), and another that hasn't been relevant for ten years (Detroit).

- Finishing each night with an episode of "Ozark" (just finished season 2) puts my dreams in a dark, dark place, man.

- Pretty sure my kids have never actually eaten the fruit that they've requested I buy at the grocery. But they'll burn through a 12-pack of flavored seltzer water like a couple of junkies.

- The College World Series has been added to the list. Beautiful venue, a city that goes all-in on the event, rowdy fan bases, future big-leaguers...really want to hit that up soon. PING!
