What is the rationale for needing the extra rest? Injuries still? Or is it that Tennessee (and even Vandy, to a degree) was so much fresher having just come off a week or so of rest (right?)?

Washington still doesn’t look 100% to me.
Grady looks gassed, as well. As Chad loves to point out, dude is old enough to take metamucil every night.

I'm sure this is ridiculous speculation, but neither Grady nor Mintz have shot as well since they had to play every minute at guard for a few weeks.

Predictions based on overall rankings…

West: 1-Gonzaga, 2-Purdue
South: 1-Arizona, 2-Auburn
Midwest: 1-Kansas, 2-Kentucky
East: 1-Baylor, 2-Duke

If we were really a contender for the last 1-seed yesterday, that makes us the top 2-seed. Has to put us in Chicago, right? Also, I think Wisconsin is our 3.

Who knows maybe we will have a good draw and the bracket opens right up for us. Probably end up playing f’ing UConn or Wisconsin.

Right now, playing Sister Mary’s School for the Blind and Other Unfortunate Diseases will have me gut-wrenchingly nervous.

Felt like the Cars were invincible a mere 7 days ago.

UK fans know it when they see it and yesterday was vindication of fear that has been nagging at most of us for a month now. I'm also just as sure a few hours from now, most of us will be telling ourselves that while we got a **** bracket if things break a certain way then 9 is possible. I don't think this team has it.

As a UK fan 1984,86, 93, 95, 03, 04, 10, 15, 17 were real anger how did the season end this way moments. 1992, 97, 11, 14 was sad but proud that they fought and overachieved. Right now, I wouldn't lump those teams in with this team because my expectations are so low going into the tournament that a 2nd round loss wouldn't be any more surprising than if we cut down the nets.

Even last year with that shitshow I was still excited for March. This is literally my favorite time of year. I have taken the first two days of the tournament off from School/work since I was in 7th grade.

I miss having the team that went out and skullfucked other teams. We might not always have ended with a banner but it was fun to experience that in March.

I am a battered wife. Yesterday was like answering the door and he’s got flowers and chocolate and begging you to take him back. And then you let him in and he backhands you for saying something smart ***.

We have 5 hours until the selection show. Half the reason I interact with you ******** on here is literally this week - I live out of state and have no outlet to talk about my beloved cats IRL. It’s been 3 long, horrible years. We have the NPOY, one of the most likeable teams I can remember, and we’re LITERALLY TOP 5 entering the tournament. Yes, top 5. You guys have five hours to get your whiny, faggy, miserable posts out of your system then it’s go time. Snap the f*ck out of it. FINAL WARNING

Grady isn’t tired, Jesus! He is what 23? I get playing the 8pm game and then playing at 3pm the next day might be wearing but in general none of these kids are tired.

The offense with Wheeler penetrating erratically with no real plan other than hopefully make the defense adjust leaves our shooters on egg shells. Now that teams know to just face guard and ignore Wheeler that penetration is counter productive except for when he gets the layup or puts it on the glass and Oscar gets a stick back.

Wheeler is too good to not realize this, and as teams slow us down he has to recognize this is not setting the rest of the team up for success.

The reason Brooks was open on the 3 he hit was because his guy is the only one not faceguarding so he was open. Same thing happened later too when we needed a score.

The exact opposite happens in the half court when we ran pick n roll with Grady up top. The defense has to guard up leaving the roller open or in a mismatch, and if they contain the roller Grady can shoot or drive where help comes off the other guys and they are open.

I’m not saying it has to be the primary offense, but to not put the ball in Grady’s hand like this multiple times per game is just sad when it worked so damn well against Bama and LSU.

I still feel good about our team. We are a top8 team with strengths and weaknesses like all teams. I hate our half court offense and how we go through stretches where we have to grind to even get a shot. But I like that we have multiple guys who can carry us, we rebound well, we guard well for the most part, and we don’t ever seem to quit.

When we are on (see KU and Tenn), we are the best team. What concerns me is we seem to have a lot of games where we play a D level game. But even yesterday we were one rebound away from having a chance to tie it despite god awful shooting.

I don’t see anyway we lose first wknd. After that, every game is a grind no matter what. Hopefully we find a way to string together several B+ level games bc we have shown we can beat a lot of good teams if we play at that level.

We’ve been living under the delusion that this team was nearly invincible when healthy. It allowed everyone from the media, players, fans and the head coach to seemingly ignore any and all issues during the past 3-4 weeks and simply respond “We’re fine so long as we’re healthy”.

Yesterday was a reality check for everyone. Simply being healthy isn’t why they were playing so well.

The only potential silver lining from yesterday is that this was exposed to the team and coaches now instead of next week.

K requested Chicago, he isn’t getting anything else on his farewell tour so might as well give him Chicago.

Vols peaking at the right time.

I’d take Wisconsin as a 3 in our bracket any day over Texas Tech. They will get in our grill and stymie us.

Glad to finally come to grips that our ceiling is now losing on Saturday in the SEC Tourney and hobbling into a 2 seed. That’s where we were in 2019 and that’s where we are now.

And anyone who brings up 2020 can spare me. That team embarrassed itself losing to Tennessee (of course) on Senior Night, had it’s starting point guard refuse to go back in the game and barely beat a bad Florida team the last game of the regular season while it’s point guard was suspended. Not an optimal way to go into the tournaments.

I’m not to going to be satisfied and nor should the fanbase until Kentucky is a dominant force again clicking on all cylinders on Selection Sunday.

I’m here for SEC Tournament Championships, 1 seeds, and Final Fours while knocking on those doors throughout the seasons and you’ll win the big one. Hopeful that a team figures it out while having major issues in mid March is setting the table for accepting mediocrity.

Dane Key getting some good reviews from Rowland/the staff on HoB. Mentally, that’s where I’m at right now. Physically, I’m on empty.

Re: Doyel - This take out there that we should respect athletes for being mentally unable to perform is insane. One person yelled “you suck, Osaka” and she completely melted down and blamed it on watching a video of the Williams sisters getting boo’d at that event 5 years ago. Sorry toots, in a high stakes world you’re gonna have to deal with adversity. Buck up or gtfo.

Yeah, the “don’t ‘bully’ pro athletes” take is rich from a guy who spent the entire football season trying to get his hometown QB fired while questioning his integrity and leadership because he didn’t get vaccinated.

Ok, it's been a day of reflection.

Upon deep thought, I will say, everyone else can eat ****. Human dog ****. Hobo train, human, dog ****.

We are winning this!
I feel better about things today too. Last night I was in a pretty dark place. It happens.

I think Tennessee might just be a really good team, who is peaking at the right time.

Time to street fight. Us against the world. F**k em.
