About the only thing I enjoy doing in the midst of an awful hangover is bone. Guess wifey has to be on board tho.

Anyone else intrigued by the Caanan Valley. In WVA. It’s a day trip from here - but a truly special sounding place.

with my wife’s deal, we could pick up and go to Wyoming or Colorado at any point. And her career would skyrocket. I would be a bartender in Laramie or something. Yes, please.

The only thing, tho, is that we’d have to pull our kids out of here. They’re already ingrained. Not sure how you do that to kids.

I love Kentucky and it will always be my home. But some of the other possibilities are intriguing. For example, right here we have one of the worst cloudy day ratios in the world. Out west, man, they don’t have cloudy days.

Mother in law scheduled to come in today for 17 days (strategically scheduled to get 2.5 wknds out of her visit). Flight out of Hartford cancelled for today and she was notified last night after we went to bed. What does she do? Well because she refuses to learn how to book flights online even though we have showed her no less than 20x, she does nothing. Well other than call American Airlines and stay on hold for 2 hours and then just hang up. As you can guess, no good options this morning so all of today is gone and most of the day tomorrow. And she’s pissed at us bc we didn’t hear her calls at 10:30 last night. Wife asked her, “did you see the button that says select new flight”? “No” was her answer. Great way for a Saturday to start.

Sorry Anth, no natural break points in the story so it’s all together and not formatted with spaces.

You ever canoed/kayaked the Big South Fork? It is an easy little drive from Lexington -- right on the KY / TN border. The water level changes so much that there are not established camp sites and it is a nice mixture of being completely empty but not so far from civilization that if something truly goes wrong, you can get help. As an Eagle Scout, I'm sure that is a mere hypothetical.

We went in summer 2019. There was so little light pollution that I got out of my hammock to piss around 1 am and I briefly thought it had snowed, the reflection of the moon off the water was so bright. The forest sounded like a jungle and every hour or so, a different set of bird calls would come on.

One of my best favorite trips ever and I've done the Boundary Waters 4 or 5 times, etc. Plus, if memory serves, fishing and CCW permits are reciprocal in that area of TN so it cuts down on hassle.

* I had a vivid dream last night that we beat Florida State in the Final Four to go the title game. Cam'ron Fletcher played a lot of minutes for Leonard Hamilton and we smoked them. We were the first game on Saturday and the late game had two scrubs, so we were playing with house money on Monday.

I was kind of pissed to wake up, tbh. (I know that krazy and MoC are also pissed that I woke up, too.)

* Imo, you need to strengthen your pimp hand, cutit_loose. My wife knows enough to not even suggest that the in-laws would be staying for two and a half weeks. 5 days tops -- and that is if they are getting an airbnb or hotel.

WTF.

* The ceiling of Coleman Coliseum is GAF.

* I'm glad Alabama smoked Baylor last week and this game is at 8 pm. The eyes of college basketball will be upon us. I want to hear a deafening "C-A-T-S!" chant tonight.

-Do you all frequently eat that ****? I'd have to be in a pretty dark place to get Skyline in any form.

-This dude is insane. Trying to climb Everest, alone, in the middle of winter, without oxygen, on one of the hardest routes. Lol.

-8p game marcus be tomorrow.

-That Redemption 10 Yr is a damn fine rye. I assume it's 10 MGP but it's ******* good. They're still on the shelf so grab one when you see it.

-Can't imagine being single at this age. Gives me anxiety thinking about it. Of course for single 40 year olds, I'm sure 2 kids under 6 would give them anxiety, because it also gives me anxiety. ****.

-Took G over to that D Bat place off Mercer to get him out of the house. Damn, these places have come a long way from Batt-N-Putt.

-We're getting points? Shew, I'm cocky right now. That seems like a gift.

- I eat Skyline 2-4x a month, always drive through. I call ahead to have them save a potato for me (5-Way Potato Extreme). Their salads are always fresh & great as well. I *could* eat it couple times per week. I don’t think I’ve had dine-in Skyline in 5 years or so (work lunch).

- My in-laws always stay with us for at least two weeks since they’re coming from Canada. Now, we’ve got a nice little attic BR and en-suite for them. With a bunch of little kids to wrangle, it’s great.

- I’m working up some renovation plans for my house (Summer 2023). This may end up being the best set of construction documents ever produced in this region: Plans, Sections, Elevations, Iso’s, Details, Renderings, VR, AR, Lidar, Drone Survey. But, I’ll pare it down for pricing since contractor tend to price things by the page/weight of the drawing set.

- I’ve picked up a few side gigs just rendering design ideas for people to hand off to contractors. HGTV has really ginned up a need for that stuff. The hardest part is dancing around how simple and easy the actual problem/scope is without minimizing the efforts the client is putting into it with “selections.”

- I think I’ll be taking my son to the Florida game for his first experience in Rupp. But, my buddy needs to wrangle himself some SB tickets, so I can buy his K-Fund seats for the game. Otherwise, we’ll have to stubhub it last minute.

*As a newly single 46 year old, I can say so far, it's been a mixed bag. Mostly a mixed bag of ****.

On one hand, I've tried to make the most of it by traveling, hanging with friends, and doing anything I want at any time. Sure, it's a blast while taking place, but it ends and them I'm back to where I started.

Randy Travis Voice: But on the other hand, the last 3 days have been a vivid reminder of my current situation. I've been holed up with nobody to see or talk to. The loneliness has been worse than the damn Chiner-flu itself.

Perhaps one day I'll embrace being single and the opportunities it will bring. I'm just not there yet. I can't see myself in a relationship with anyone for a long, long, time. Then again, I didn't see myself in my current position either.

*In other news, love UK is the underdog tonight. Hopefully they'll come out angry and aggressive and beat the **** out of Alabama. 8PM, ugh. If I'm not going out for the game, it's usually a struggle to stay up. /old

*Looking to book a vacation for me and the kids. It would be easy if both hadn't already told me they don't want to go back to Clearwater Beach. What sucks is this time last year I was looking into a Yellowstone vacation. Then the divorce. Then I'm told she booked a vacation for the kids...to Yellowstone (ouch).

*New restaurant opened in the neighborhood. Fiesta Time Amigos. I haven't tried it yet but have heard mixed reviews. It'll feel like cheating on Gustavo's when I finally go. May have to wear a disguise.

Mom has stayed with us once and Dad has never stayed the night at our place. We'll share a house on vacation but they're just not the stay type. They'll get a room nearby. Probably one of their best quirks. Weeks? Unless it's a required event, no effin way.

I would love my mother in law to be 5 min away. Unfortunately for time being, she is in CT. When she comes, she comes for long stays, which gives us a nice long break from the kids and doesn’t force her to pay $250-$350/night for a condo near by. I keep the vodka stocked and she is happy. She takes the kids all day which makes us happy.

-Original line was UK -1, so if we are getting points now Alabama has money pouring in on them and I love that!

-I’m kind of a loner so 3 days of peace and quiet sounds like heaven! Of course I’m saying this after 7 months of 7 kids and my stepdad destroying everything!

-Fiesta Time Amigos is worse than El Nopal. Don’t cheat on Gustavo’s.

- taking our kids to paintball today. One of my favorite times when we got into it around 8/9grade.

- Entering year 20 on this damn board.

What in the hell? I know way too much about people I've never met.

It's not a stretch to say I've pretty much always had a browser tab opened for GYERO.

That F5 key or REFRESH icon has been clicked every 10-15 minutes for two decades.

I wouldn't trade it for anything else, actually.

- Pound-for-pound, give me Lionel Richie's "All Night Long" as a song that always puts a smile on my face and a spring in my step.

Honestly worship the dude's whole collection.

- Codes to always remember:

* 007 373 5963
* Up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A, Start
* Down, Right, Left, Down, Down, Right, Up, Up, Down, Up, Down Up. WHAT IS A WREN? A BIRD. WHEN ISN'T IT? WHEN IT IS.

- Sunny Saturday funday as a kid:

* Awake to the smell of breakfast. There might be three or four of your buddies sleeping all over your bedroom.

* Toss the baseball around/shoot some hoops before we head on the road.

* Batting cages/putt-putt

* Afternoon movie; if we don't get the noon one, there is always the 2:15 one and we will just smash balls for another two hours.

* Angling my mom so the buddies can stay another night.

* Pizza joint. It could have tasted like cardboard, but there is not a care in the world.

* Skating rink. I don't think I ever put a pair of skates on, just spent a million quarters on arcade games, and lost too many air hockey games.

I just had to endure my sister--and her buddies--part of the funday.

Hair metal band songs are blaring; Aqua-Net scent is abundant; Sunday could be a billion miles away.

My recently-divorced mom is just sitting there smiling knowing her kids are having a blast.

* On the way home, stop and go home with some VHS movies.

Yeah, the buddies are staying again.

- HOLY BULL/WITHERS at Gulfstream/Aqueduct today. Nice, little Derby Preps.

Let's go with Irad on the (2) Mo Donegal at Gulf. But make sure we keep an eye on the 6 and 9. That's what she said?

I'm still debating on either Early Voting or Constitutionlawyer at AQU; even though I could be talked into (11) Cooke Creeke at 6-1.

- Speaking of betting, how about 40-1 on Joe Mixon to be the Super Bowl MVP? $20? Minus whale.

- Just finished first season of After Life on Netflix. Christ. HUGE fan, but what a way to get the emotions flowing. I will have to give it a couple of days to start the next season.

- How to make an enemy of me: not clearing the timer on a microwave.

- Fremont Street > The Strip. It's not even close. Give me the Nug and Binions all day.

- TyTy with 20/8 tonight? He's ready to bust back out again, gang.

- Twenty-freaking years. Love you all.

WE talk about divorce....
WE had a sitdown discussion about divorce...
WE have talked about what to do with the kids if we divorce...
WE are very open about divorce...
WE will probably get divorced....
WE would be better off if we divorced....
WE need to get a divorce....
WE would be happier if divorced....

My wife and I have discussed divorce and what it would actually be like with 4 kids. Of course now we actually have assets to split, but besides that we ultimately assume we’d be like Alec Baldwin and Meryl Streep in It’s Complicated.

Off and on sex, love and hate surely, always putting kids first, likely both dating and likely never liking many people because we are so used to each other’s flaws/strengths and personalities, and most likely would basically be together with a little extra alone time as we pass our kids back and forth in our different homes.

Seems weird to discuss so casually, but we certainly do and still decide marriage is worth it.

Not sure where you got that, dumbass!

I’m glad you woke up Hank. Batman needs his Joker.

Head pounding and I twisted my knee somehow last night but them’s the breaks. Full on hangover on the couch drinking Gatorade and watching basketball today. Lass is gone to lunch with friends and “shopping” for the day. She’s bringing back a cat isn’t she?

Scrambled some eggs, fried some bacon and sliced a ‘mater. Coffee and a big glass of chocolate milk for breakfast.

Hot Chicken pizza was on point last night. Worship.

Ran into an old friend that I worked with years ago and his wife so we did the intro’s of our ladies and ten minutes in they’re acting like they’ve been besties forever. That’s my girl…probably why she’s going to be a diplomat one day.

Fox College Hoops Pre Game Show > ESPN Gameday.

Bama can eat all the dicks and so can the “Bama/UK Fan”. I think those douchebags should be punched in the face on sight imho.

let’s goooooooo

My parents live three hours away and have for 22 years now but when my son was born I would have never made it without them. TMFS. They’d come down on weekends and take him so I could study/work. When money was tight mom and dad would show up with two weeks worth of groceries. I adore my parents and wish I could find more time to spend with them now that they’re getting older.

But they aren’t staying with me.

Mavs-Sixers last night in Dallas. First time seeing Embiid and Luka live. It’s truly amazing how smooth Embiid is for how big he is.
That must've been something to see. Embiid is unreal. It's like Olajuwon, Duncan and Moses Malone joined forces to create the big man of the future.

Joe B Hall was a kind, beloved and generous person in life.

Billy Reed was a bitter old drunk who once wrote about basketball and is more known now for him being an ******* to everyone than anything he did writing wise.

I’m not going to mourn that son of a *****. Sorry Matty Jones. I will talk **** about him because that’s the person he was in life. I hope his grave is used as a gender neutral bathroom.
