Partied with some of my best buds for the first time in awhile including PTI who flew in from Denver for a day, watched Big Blue stomp a hole into Kansas in their gym.

Then watched the Bengals do the unimaginable. Like I seriously am
having trouble believing this ****. The Bengals are going to the Super Bowl? WTF

Oh my God. How did we win that game?

I want the F’ing Niners. 🐅

Everyone knows Goodell sucks, but he just showed his true incompetence not being able to fix that game correctly.

If you aren’t cheering for the 9ers then I feel sorry for you!

Anyone thinking Burrow, Higgins, Chase and Mixon aren’t for real just aren’t football people. Seriously these kids are legit, and just because no one predicted them over Cleveland and Baltimore doesn’t mean they aren’t here to stay.

This run is eerily similar to that first NE Super Bowl my 2nd year in college. The soon to be media darling just underdogging his way through the best they could offer up.

Congrats Bengals fans!

For all my fellow NKY Bengals/Reds/UK lifers, enjoy the hell out of this. I've been present at so many Cincy sports debacles I can't even count. Carson Palmer destined to lead us to the promised land only for our arch rivals to blow out his knee in the first quarter, there. 2015 literally all Jeremy Hill had to do was not fumble and we win, yep blew that one too. I mean I was even there at opening day 96 when the home plate umpire dropped dead. Still have my Odell Thurman jersey too.

Joe Burrow and co are gods

Niners might have the best team “other than QB” in the playoffs. But you can’t win in the NFL without a big time QB. Especially in this new era of pass happy football.

AFC QBs are ridiculous. Mahomes, Allen, Burrow, Herbert…that’s going to be some good football the next decade.
What about your boy Lamar?

Epic beat down AT Kansas

UK football in the middle of an historic run, including Bear Bryant being supplanted as the winningest UK head coach, early next year.

The Bengals have gone from 2-14 two years ago to the fvcking SuperBowl.

These are either the halcyon days, or everybody had better get right with the Lord, because the Apocalypse is nigh.

This JUST DOESN’T HAPPEN!

* Sucks to lose Wolford but it is nice that we have assistants who are in high demand. Coen and White are probably going to be head coaches this time next year. That's what happens when you are actually SEC, not supposed to be SEC.

* To celebrate Matthew Stafford finally getting on a real team, here is the immortal Dicky Lyons, Jr.:

"I’ve been having these creepy dreams about [my fiancé] leaving me. ‘Cosmo’ says it’s natural to have these dreams. But I’ve been having these dreams that she’s leaving me, and this other dream the other night, I went out, and I’m following her, right, because I’m having suspicions. “So then I find her at this bar, and I go up to her and I’m trying to talk to her. I said, ‘What are you doing?’ And she’s like, ‘I just don’t want to marry you.’ I’m trying to shake her, and slap her out of it, and I’m like, 'Focus!' And I slap her, and then I turn around, and Matt Stafford punches me in the nose. Matt Stafford goes, 'You don’t hit women.' And then all of a sudden their backup quarterback who is now at Delta State, Blake (Barnes), he comes hitting me and then I’m like fighting off all these quarterbacks, (Brian) Hoyer from Michigan State, all the guys who I was at with the Manning camp started jumping in. I did pretty well because I was biting them, I was twisting their arms, I knew all these Army Ranger tricks in my dream. I mean, it was just crazy. I was laughing about it. I texted [Stafford] and said, ‘I’m dreaming about you.’” Lyons added that Stafford never responded. “I don’t know if he likes me that much,” Lyons said.

Halcyon days indeed.

🤣 at Dicky citing Cosmo.

* I didn't know that Waterhead Wayne had a writing credit on South Park. Great job, fella!

Monday shawts:

What else can be said about the Bengals. Burrow is the king of Ohio.

Whuppin the jaybirds was just what I needed in my UK life. Hopefully they drop a few like UT did after we slapped them around.

My spell check tries to turn like into Luke every time.

Was supposed to spend last week chilling in south Florida. Covid got in the way though. Pretty much over the side effects, except for fatigue. Good lord I'm tired, but glad to get over this.

We are half way through winter. Four weeks until March. Planning to watch Groundhog Day in the next 48 hours.

Was setting aside some money to put a remote start on my truck. Then I found out I already had it. Such an awesome feature.

I'm tired of kentucky Republicans that are against gambling on anything but horses, or buzzing on anything but bourbon. Fuggin hypocrites.

I need a haircut.

- Really happy for you Bengal fan buds. I grew up following the Reds and Bengals, but never had a deep emotional connection to either one. Not sure why. My first sports heartbreak was the '82 Super Bowl. And I was excited when the Reds won in '90. But I never became passionate about either franchise. Still, I'm excited for friends who have long suffered along with both. Will obviously be pulling for Cincy in two weeks.

- I'm not sure the last time there's ever been a Super Bowl where the country will be so overwhelmingly pulling for one team. I know that everyone wanted the Pats to lose during their run, but they still had(have) a sizable fan base. The Rams didn't even have the majority of fans in their OWN HOUSE yesterday. Part of the Midwest hates them for leaving St. Louis, and Southern California(and the rest of America) doesn't care. For all the things that the NFL has done right, botching the L.A. market has been something they've bumbled for 40 years now, beginning with moving the Raiders there in the early 80's. Plus, the Bengals are obviously a great story, etc.

- There's a real sense of satisfaction knowing that the Super Bowl isn't in Fox's hands. I know every NFL pregame/halftime show is cringe-worthy, but with Fox, you're still left with Buck/Aikman. Will be pretty cool hearing Collinsworth call this Bengals SB appearance, (ir)regardless of how you feel about him personally.

- The last six NFL playoff games have been decided by a TOTAL of 21 points. Insanity.

If you want to get a premium head coaching gig, become an Alabama assistant. Can't blame him.
I can drive over to Indiana to place bets but am too lazy. If it's in front of me, like my TwinSpires account, I'm in. Lost plenty on Saturday.
When teams are winning, the city has a different buzz. Feels good. Who Dey!

-Thursday me a co-worker in Lou to do grab lunch, tour Stizel Weller, then grab dinner at Ruby's. Stayed at The Grady, really nice, awesome location. Then back to Louisville to hang with the crew all day Saturday.

-Ate Sidebar for lunch both days. Great burger.
-Stizel Weller is a really cool property, the new bourbon there sucks, but the history and being a stones throw from where I grew up made it worth it. Just imagine the regret of selling the names to all those bourbons.
-Stopped in Neat, new bourbon bar on BTown Rd, believe the guy is buddies with Krazy. Good looking bar, sells mostly dusties. Give it a look.
-Cocktails at Hell or High Water, love that place.
-Watched the game Saturday at... drumroll... Tin Roof. Hell of a day. Bonz, PTI, BBdk, Turbo, WCC, Beans(and their crew), ap.com, rich showed up later.
-Bounced around until it was just turbo and I trying to track down White Castle or Taco Bell.

-That will scratch the sit around a bar and drinking all day itch. I'm good for a bit.

-I deserve a hard time after my Bengals hate over the years. Burrow makes it hard because I really like the kid and he's just a cool mf. I got them +4(3*) to win the SB, feel like that was a steal. They're just better than the Rams.

-Sweat 4 Surgeries was success again. 2 good workouts. Really fun event.

-Tomorrow marks the beginning of the worst month, however it's one step closer to the promised land. Also, ever so slightly the days are getting longer. I'm done being cooped up in the house with a ravenous 6 year old.

-The game, JFC. I was really confident going in(once I knew Washington was playing), probably a little too much, but I figured it'd be a war being at PA. We just overwhelmed them. If you don't have the horses to pressure our guards then you really don't have a chance. Experience to be patient and find a wide open Brooks all night is the difference in upperclassman leadership and say a back court of Wall/Bledsoe. Junk zone perplexed them. This crew figured it out in just a few possessions then took em to task. Now teams aren't going to be able to leave their man, should free up Grady and Washington even more.

-If we don't see Sharpe Wednesday then we never see him in a UK game. JMO. We're in a much better place than a week ago to bring him along, and I think we should, but I don't get the sense it's happening.

-Kenpom #3 and CBS #3. 👀 Win this weekend and let's go play Auburn in Tampa for that 1 seed.

-Brooks got the love, and he deserved it, but:
*Oscar outclassed them with a ho-hum 17/14
*Grady played awesome D, sometimes guarding a POY candidate, and hit every big 3 he took
*Washington, goes to show you how good he is, ice cold from the field but doesn't shoot us out of the game and dishes 5 assists.
-Wheeler his typical self, 8 asst, goddam pest defensively, knocked down 2 big 3s.

-Eating a lot of humble pie lately but Ware has really made some strides. He's a serviceable backup at this point. Which is huge so we can keep Oscar fresh and out of foul trouble. Early this season he looked AWFUL. Good for him. Cal has his 8.

We will be playing t auburn but it’s been proven time and time again that until the sec-t gets moved up a day the championship game doesn’t mean jack for seeding purposes

There was a group of fans sitting at “our” table that have it to us before the game and went to another spot. At halftime the guy won the raffle for a new cornhole set. After the game while celebrating he was buying flights to LA. Don’t tell me karma doesn’t exist.
