I am looking forward to the Notre Dame game and will surely enjoy the rest of the season.

I don't think those of us that are and have been a bit on the periphery are so far gone that we aren't excited for the season. Just, I don't know, give us some entertainment value before December 11th other than one night in early November? Play an exciting brand of hoops that has traditionally been a hallmark of the program? Seems reasonable (and easy enough to execute for a program with unmatched resources) even in today's world of cbb.

Am I geeking out on kenpom stats and stuff like I used to? No. Doubt I ever will again tbh. But it can still and should be a very good product, that Kentucky Basketball. JMO.

Seriously, be careful. When I was young & newly married, my husband and I were living in my parent’s house while they were away on a golf course project.
It got cold and my husband went down to light the furnace and get it going.
I left and went to work at my hostess job, and later on he came to the restaurant and sat in the bar to wait for me to get off.
.When we got home, it was apparent something was very wrong. All the windows were blown out. We cautiously entered the house and everything was a wreck. We could hear the sound of water running and the door to the basement was blown off. All of the fireplace floors were in rubble.
Once the fire department etc came and figured things out we learned that a valve on the furnace malfunctioned and stuck closed and the furnace exploded.
So we also learned that if we had been home, we would have been at the least, seriously injured.
I to think something is apparently very wrong when I came home from work and pulling into my driveway, I notice the windows blown out of my house. When this happens, two scenarios / explanations come to mind, 1. terrorist attack, 2. a GD gas explosion. MOST of the time, it would be gas explosion, BUT you can never rule out a terrorist attack, not in this day and time anyway.

I HOPE Cal is just tinkering with different combos for future opposition lineups we will face (I have convinced myself of this anyway), BUT there is also a part of me that says "Maybe, just maybe the game has passed his stubborn *** by." I will decide conclusion after the next 5 or so games. Stay tuned.

Charles Barkley blaming AD for ALL of the Lakers shortcomings is next level ignorant. Using his 3% as your main evidence is just dumb. Charles is not the smartest tool in the shed, but that is a horrible take, even for him. AD SHOULD NOT be firing over 5 3's per game, exactly how does he gain a matchup advantage by his elite athletic ability and guard like skills camping out at the 3 point line ? Having a PG who can't hit the broad side of a barn and a turnover machine hurts a lot more. Also, no cap room to sign players who are nothing more than journeymen specialist doesn't help either. But put it on AD, LBJ missing over half the games couldn't factor into it at all.

I would not say ONLY Mintz and Oscar looked engaged last night. But a week layoff and **** opponent, you can expect some sluggishness. Not to mention Southern was absolutely playing extry hard for their coach who played here. Clearly they wanted to represent him and it showed, huge respect for a coach from his players. A lot more hustle / giving it their all compared to UK and it was not even close.

3 blind player stats from last night :
Player #1 - 2pts. (1/3 FG / 0/2 FT's) / 1 reb. / 2 steals / 1 assist in 20 minutes
Player #2 - 2 pts. (1/4 FG) / 6 reb. / 1 assist / 4 blocks in 21 minutes
Player #3 - 8 pts. (4/5 FG) / 6 reb. / 1 steal / 3 blocks in 17 minutes

Player #3 definitely was into the game and SHOULD HAVE gotten more minutes than #1 for certain.

#1 - Keion Brooks, JR.
#2 - Jacob Toppin
#3 - Daimion Collins

Brooks and Toppin were barely involved. Collins seems to be an exciting Frosh with lots of bouncy potential going forward. Amazing scouting work!

You are next level ignorant.
14 post, 13 (93%) of them are quoting / replying to me and TRYING to get under my skin. Dude, get off my nuts and go lay in a FN corner somewhere. Your obsession with chasing me around trying to chase likes is very disturbing and unhealthy. I bet you think of me while in bed at night and your man is nuts deep plowing the ever loving **** out of you. Please seek help, I am VERY concerned for your mental situation. Several people try and give me **** on here (some are actually funny, unlike you), but only YOU are truly obsessed with me. GD boy, give it a rest. Maybe try posting ONE thing of substance, just ONE, I MIGHT take you seriously (but I doubt it).

Absolutely. Can't see myself cutting out the AP & Coaches Poll (UPI) from the papaer and carrying it around in my pocket all week ever again. ****'s just different now.

But if/when we are making the next Final 4 run, everyone will be ALL IN just as we always have been. I certainly wasn't thinking about "Man, I wish it was the 90s" during any of our recent Elite 8 heartbreaks. UK being on the cusp of a Final 4, or knowing we have a team primed to make that run is a feeling that can't be eradicated, no matter the era.

Anyone who claims otherwise is full of ****, or just simply not a blueblood UK fan at all & likely never was. We need another one, like NOW, and then everyone will love college basketball again, even if temporarily.

That's how it works. It's really not that different with UK Football, albeit different expectations. Nobody was ATE UP as they are now during the Joker debacle, or even the early Stoops years -- that's for goddam sure.

Just win, baby.

Yea I am sending the wife, nieces and mother in law to the nutcracker this Saturday and they all have to have proof of vax or a negative test within 48 hours to get in, and no refund.

UK/Notre Dame this Saturday? No way, Krazy alone with all dudes and no estrogen! Pizza, wings, beer and basketball.......the MF’ing way it should be!

Mid 60s too? GTFOH

Jussie Smollett scolding the prosecutor for using N-bombs when the prosecutor was reading Jussie's own text messages is such an epic ******* move that I somewhat respect Ol' Jussie for trying to pull it off with a straightface.

But make no mistake, that guy is a world class *******.

When it comes to enjoying UK basketball, I feel it’s fairly simple.

It gets frustrating as a fan when the first 3 months of the season are a stream of disjointed performances with the constant caveat of “We’ll figure it out eventually”.

I don’t believe that’s been the case this year. You don’t remember them but every team we’ve ever had has had some of these types of games.

Ha, I still have the AP Poll from 1993 when we reached #1 for first time since probation (and promptly lost at Vandy two days later). Cut it out of the Paducah Sun.

I did the same when we reached #25 in 1990/1991. Was so freaking pumped - perhaps the most underrated UK team in my lifetime. Started out 14-2 with the two losses at UNC and in Indy against Indiana by a combined 6 points.

Cut out the 1986 NBA All-Star game Roster from the CJ because that was the only way to know all the players.

I know it’s chic to hate on Oscar Combs but the Cats Pause yearbook marcus been the Bible. The only way to know every recruit and every high school and small college roster in Kentucky.
I mean how the hell would I even know there was a Brescia College?

We lost to IU in Bloomington by that year. We beat them in Indy the next year.

Irregardless, those were heady times. Pitino’s 2nd year. Finished the year ranked in the top 10 when almost everybody thought it would take 5-6 years to back to being ranked.

That home game against Kansas on that Saturday night in December in front a foaming at the mouth crowd at Rupp wanting revenge and wanting it badly is one of my all time favorite home games. Sean Woods was straight cooking that night against Adonis Jordan.

Hanging out with Oscar at the old Cats Pause card shop was always a good time. He’d drop a few nuggets every now and then and college aged AW thought that was the tits.

In fact I would argue that Big O is the reason we have boards like this, today. Back in the day he was the only one doing a newsletter/paper on a single sports team. More people followed, put their own rags out on teams, and now we have sites solely devoted to teams. Not saying it would have never happened but he was the forefront.

I remember watching for the mailman and rushing to the mailbox just dying for the latest recruiting news on Ron Mercer.
I have no proof of this other than second hand info, but here is a story I heard from a customer who supposedly had inside info. If true, Ron had grades barely below Vandy standards and big school donors were putting pressure on the guy who was fundraising for Vandy to make an exception for Ron. The school would not and of course he went to UK. There was so much pressure on the guy that he had a heart attack. This came from a woman who claimed to know the guys wife.
