I love obscure Presidents - Franklin Pierce ....James Garfield ....the former was a northern democrat who was outspoken against abolitionists being a threat to security (gets a bit pass doesn’t he?) — the latter could simultaneously write Greek with one hand while scribing Latin with the other ....
Edgar Allen Poe was my first favorite author- and it took almost thirty years to realize how mischaracterized he was ....finally found a GREAT biography on him that wasn’t written by someone who hated him - Mendenkeicht is the authors name - You should all go buy it or I’ll come to your chambers on Halloween and piss all over your doormat
