The kinds of socialist nutjobs your F’ing Presidential candidate encourages, you F’ing idiot.

No offense.

Biden is encouraging militias? Hmm. Must have missed that. I do recall seeing Trump saying “stand up and stand by”, “good people” etc.

And all of you can blow me. I fought like hell to keep politics out of this place but you bitches said it was fine back in 2016. NO ONE backed me up.

So F off. All of you.

You didn’t say a peep when 73 took a shot at Harris Wednesday night.

You didn’t say **** in 2016 when this place became the Political Thread East because it was all conservative stuff.

If you want politics out of GYERO, fine, let’s outlaw it. But this place isn’t going to become a conservative circlejerk.

- Mentioned the Court of Appeals published opinion before, but found out recently the Supreme Court denied the other party's motion for DR. So, I'm now officially a published attorney in a victorious, completely final decision. The irony of this happening after I left the practice of law altogether is not lost on me.

- My dad is one of the most chill people I know, and anyone that knows him well would tell you the same. But, man, if you mention "John Cougar" around him, watch out. Apparently it was a name forced upon him for marketing purposes that he never liked, and Dad'll be sure to let you know that.

- Not sure if they count (they did have some fairly big radio success), but on Rudd's "big acts in small venues" point, I saw the Gin Blossoms at the original Dame. Amazing show, those guys still just love what they do. Helps that they're in my top 5 favorite bands.

- Pretzel, if you think The Dirt on Netflix is bad, you should read the book. Shewee. Was a fairly big Motley Crue ball back in the day, think I read it in 2-3 sittings when it first released.

- Keep forgetting to mention this, but for you NKY honks, I was up there for a friend's 40th the weekend of the Auburn game, and we watched it at Smoke Justis. That place is awesome. Cool bar with a great layout, fantastic food. Huge fan now.

- Here's your small Indian Summer window, Anth. Been pretty fantastic.

- I'm low key psycho about the necessity of the Oxford comma. On the other hand, I'm happy that double spacing is no longer "required" and was happy to stop doing it, especially in emails. I'm weird.

- I was a bit of a wrasslin' fan growing up, and I also understand it's big business these days, so I'm not necessarily knocking it, but to see the "WWE DRAFT" advertised as a "real thing" during the football game last night was just very humorous to me for some reason.

- My Bears looked solid last night. Other than, you know, the OL not stopping anybody, not really being able to throw or run the ball to the point of getting some real momentum, and the defense being somewhat lackluster. Besides all that, great! At least we beat Tom Brady. I guess.

- Go University of Kentucky Football Cats. Beat The Pirate.

Molesting children is horrible, but people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones (or beer bottles at the mentally handicapped).

Trump and Biden are both pathetic people. Defending either is like pti calling out the church.

Chad must be a South Pole elf.

Farm day today, looking forward to the lack of cell phone reception.

One of my biz partners got attacked by a dog the other day. Dog owner sighed and said "I'm already being sued for this". I effing hate ****** dog owners.

The whole Fleetwood Mac/ Cholo Creeper thing is cool as hell. Dreams reached number one in 1977 and again in 2020.

Perfect fall morning. Sipping coffee on the top deck, about to go do payroll, then I'm free for the day.

Fri 5
Dreams - Fleetwood Mac (had to)
Constellations - Jack Johnson
Cafe On the Corner - Sawyer Brown
Everybody Wants to Rule the World - Tears for Fears
Amie - Pure Prarie League

Chad posts the same way Trump debates; rapid fire emotional vitriol with very little substance or reason, especially when challenged.

Irony is that if you really wanted to work backwards and actually find out what he believes re: real issues, he'd lean conservative. But fiscal policy takes don't make cool IG-filtered yard signs.

~ Remember when we talked concerts and LeBron VS mj and people were still pissed? It's GYERO.

~ Stunned Joey asked an a/v technical question on this board. Thought for sure I was getting catfished/kink shamed for refusing to use an HD splitter.

~ Let priests touch/get married. Boom, the debauchery angle is gone. They can massage their 21 year old androgynous lovers into sex like the rest of us.

~ New back yard 1 Irish Beck 0. Hard red clay is a ***** *****.

Friday five:

Kissing Cousins - Closure in Moscow
My Famed Disappearing Act - Thank You Scientist
In Bloom - Sturgill Simpson
Blood and Thunder - Mastodon
Blue Ridge Mountains - Fleet Foxes

Peering inside, the onlooker saw the small parish’s pastor half-naked having sex with two women on the altar, according to court documents. The women were dressed in corsets and high-heeled boots. There were sex toys and stage lighting. And a mobile phone was mounted on a tripod, recording it all.

The ancient "Blessing of the Rod and Staff" ritual. Nothing to see here.

Marshall always gave me strong Gillispie at A&M vibes.

I'm no dominatrixball, but those are precisely the eyebrows I'd expect on a lady with such talents.

I've said before I didn't know many Catholics growing up, and being a preacher's granddaughter and growing up in the nondenom world, it's always struck me as strange priests couldn't marry. Way to take one thing Paul said way out of context, guys. Unfortunately any position of power is going to draw in certain types of personalities: the salt of the earth, who want to do good, and the absolute pond scum of humanity who want to use power to abuse people. Not a lot in between.

Friday 5s have been devoid of EVH so far and I won't stand for that. (but White Wayne, Brad Mehldau is great.) my headphones have been blasting Aquanet into the atmosphere all week.
1. Iron Maiden--Bring Your Daughter...to the Slaughter
2. Van Halen--Ice Cream Man
3. Van Halen--One Foot Out the Door
4. Motley Crue--Live Wire
5. Judas Priest--Electric Eye

"...I brought my pencil...gimmie something to write on..."

* Weekend is here, smartfan move is to throw on Best of Both Worlds Van Halen album and catch an outdoor patio domesto train before the weekend deluge.

* Speaking of...2:30 tee time at Hidden Creek. First time playing a hoosier course or setting foot in that godforsaken state in years.

* Hate the Astros and that midget Altuve but have to admit them getting to the ALCS without their top two pitchers from last year - Verlander and Cole, is impressive. Need the Rays to put their foot on the Yankees throat and do the same next round.

* Not a betting man but with Richie and SAE downing cold ones at CWS, the gridiron Cats walk out with a victory and the shine dulls on Leach in Starkville.

* Trying to put on a clean extra 10 pounds is a bit of a challenge.

* "Not that I condone fascism, or any -ism for that matter. -Ism's in my opinion are not good. A person should not believe in an -ism, he should believe in himself. I quote John Lennon, 'I don't believe in Beatles, I just believe in me.' Good point there. After all, he was the walrus. I could be the walrus. I'd still have to bum rides off people."

* Friday Five VH deep tracks:
You're No Good
I'll Wait
Little Guitars
Somebody Get Me a Doctor
Dirty Movies

Because of yesterday I queued up East 1999 during my workout. Love that album.

Was 20MG deep in edibles the other night and starting thinking about the best sophomore albums, and E99 is definitely up there.

90% of the time, the studio Debut is never topped, and more often than not the drop off is extreme -- but there are obviously some great exceptions.

Notable Soph Hip Hop standouts:

Bone: East 1999 Eternal
Kdot: Good Kidd Maad City
Outkast: ATLiens (tops for most, but it still doesn't pass SouthernPlayalistic for me)
Tribe: Low End Theory
Kanye: Late Registration
Drake: Take Care
Cube: Death Certificate
Dre: 2001
Juvenile: 400 Degrees
Big: Life After Death
Mobb Deep: The Infamous
Wu Tang Forever
Ghost: Supreme Clientele

If you don't count all of his weird instrumental /collaborations, I'd put MF Dooms Madvillainy up there with sophomore albums.

(I know it's technically a collaboration but doom is rapping more than producing here).

I’d lean slightly left which makes me a communist antifa sympathizer here.

Agreed on your first take and it’s possible we have the same goal with our respective audiences.

Stolen from Twitter, but worth noting & always amusing that these sorts of things (Gregg Marshall, and countless other examples) only come to light once the big time winning subsides.

The way people supported Gillespie and his antics here uncritically from the get go despite huge red flags tells me that if he won big here he’d still be coaching here.

The Billy Gillispie hire is a total black poo stain on the history of Kentucky basketball, but his exit was handled miraculously well, swiftly, and efficiently with minimal financial impact to the university. If there have been any major program firings handled better in the last couple decades, I'd love to hear which ones.

There was about a 2 year period in high school when any downtime I had consisted of listening to Wu-Tang Forever and playing NCAA Football or Goldeneye.

Might have been the high-water mark there tbh.
It’s EMBARRASSING how much I want that to be my retirement.

Best sophomore album has to be Paul’s Boutique.
