May I suggest a riveting episode of American Pickers as an alternative?

Ive watched every minute of our games so far, that was just a joke to lighten the mood.

Our "good" lineup saw so little action, because we were "winning" and he wanted to experiment, that he couldn't play them together when it touching mattered because of the dumb **** ticky tack fouls they picked up because Johnny Juzang hasn't played since 2019 and EJ and Whitney don't know which basket to defend. I'm done defending this team/coach, they're bad and I'd prefer it if we don't accept the the NIT invitation this time around.

What if I told you that we still have ~ 3 guys in the mock drafts? All is not lost. Players first ATKOT. :flush:

From Rafters:

We got up 54-41 with 11:41 to go when EJ somehow hit 2 free throws. Here are the next 66 seconds:

Hagans man hits a 3
Hagans dribbles off his knee out of bounds
Hagans gives up an old fashioned 3
Hagans walks
Hagans man hits a 3

54-50. That was the crucial point of the game.

How much goodwill does Cal get from the 2010-2015 run and when has it officially run out? Because if you judge him based on 2016-2020......

He gets a lot from me. Hell, even the last 5 lack any true embarrassments.

Talk to me in March. Two of my favorite squads from that era were complete **** at this time.

Every great coach has had a lag- Dean Smith ‘82-91, K’s had a few 5 year stretches, Roy went 9 year between F4s, etc.

I mean that was the most SEC road game of all time - big lead, **** down our pants, awful calls, banking in a 3 pointer to win, multiple players fouling out, missing FTs, etc etc The only thing it didn’t have was me posting this at 1:30 AM after the 9:15 tip. Thank god for the 6:30 tip

Me too. The question wasn't rhetorical, btw. I really legitimately don't know how long we ride this out for. I say "ride this out" because while Cal isn't Tubby, 2016-2020 has been Tubby results. Elite Eights, and a couple of sweet sixteens. Some very good wins, but some really unforgiveable losses. So right now we're treading water. And I really don't know if we just keep doing it because Cal has another 2010-2015 in him (Coach K was pretty clearly circling the drain for awhile and came back to win two rings. I don't put it past Cal to do that.) or at what point we say "This is who Cal is now."

I really don't know.

I don’t know what you’re talking about. In that time frame, we’ve lost in the E8 on a buzzerbeater and in OT, and had two other reasonable losses. Sorry you’re f’ing team doesn’t win as much as you want to- maybe hang around and see what happens this year.

Alright, man. I think I just said the same thing you did. Not sure what you're disagreeing with. I think we'd both agree that at some point Elite Eights and Sweet Sixteens aren't enough. I didn't say that point is here necessarily. So yeah, I don't know what you disagree with.

I’ve never felt so confident in saying that I don’t give a flying touch about recruiting rankings anymore. We need great players, and in today’s game, more than ever, that’s largely going to come from “non traditional” ways. Euros, grad transfers, Mormon missionaries, felons who have served their full sentence, whatever.

Despite having a top 2 class every gd year, we just don’t have very many good players. The game truly has changed that much. Ridiculous.

While there have been HOF coaches who went through lulls and then came back to win championships (K, Roy), there have also been HOF coaches who saw the game pass them by and they were never able to adapt (Knight, Crum).

We’ll see which group Cal’s in.

I’m getting a bit sick of the “he’ll have them playing good in March ********.” Personally, I like to enjoy an entire season. I don’t expect us to win every game, but it’d be nice not to look like a drunken clown show for 85% of the year, only to hope and pray we don’t lose early in the tournament.

Guess what, when you have a mediocre regular season record, and then “gel” for a two week stretch in late Feb early March, but then lose in the Sweet 16——-> you had a ****** year. You weren’t just a couple bounces away. YOU SUCKED. ALL. F*CKING. YEAR.

F*ck all of this. Be a god damned good team from start to finish. Stop embarrassing yourselves and the fan base with these pathetic losses, and for the love of God almighty, stop blowing smoke up our f*cking asses with “we’re young, camp cal, we’re improving, learning, blah blah blah”. Don’t give me that ****. F*CKING PERFORM THE ENTIRE YEAR OR GTFO.

Time to put Cal’s fat *** on the ***** bus, because that’s exactly what he’s become.

Was close to floor level tonight. The talent level between KY and SC players is laughable. SC may have some of the worst players I have seen on an SEC team in awhile. I am astonished how KY lost to that SC team and the refs, good lord.... As for Cal, I just do not know what to say at this point.

Cal wants you 6-4 to 6-8 in every position but the 4/5. That person has to be a lumbering back to the basket big man who can get the occasional rebound. He considers that clay. He will mold that clay into a team that can't shoot, doesn't space because his offensive philosophy is stuck in 1997 but will generate offensive off of good defense. The last part of this equation is why we are laughably bad. This is the worst group of "dudes" that just can't keep anyone in front of them. Only Ashton generates that type of offense anymore and he's likely to dribble it off his foot at this point.

Take the lesson from Jay Wright, get some fundamental basketball kids in here (Hello Herro) and mix them in with your "positionless" basketball players or get used to getting run by inferior teams with better fundamentals.
