There was a stretch when UL made their run to catch us where our D came up huge on about 3-4 consecutive trips, one of those being a massively important block by EJ. UL pushes a lead out to 5-6 there and not so sure we come back.

Musings:
* That was a yeoman's effort I did not expect from this team. They laid it on the line against a vintage squad of tough guys from Louisville. It wasn't exactly the same as 2009 when Pitino thought it was a great idea to bully us and both Cousins and Bledsoe almost murdered someone in the first minute but it was similar.
Richards, Sestina, Hagans, and IQ manned up. Encouraging.
* In-game redass aside, this team is shockingly not good. I'm not even sure what Cal can do about it at this point. Half his players are unplayable. He's only got 5.5 decent players. We can run Hagans, Maxey, IQ, Sestina, Richards with Brooks off the bench but that really is it. None of those guys is a superstar, either.
Maybe I'm being overly pessimistic but woof. This team is just not good at all.
* It was nice to EJ Montgomery actually get some stuff done in crunch time. He played a lot better down the stretch than he did at the beginning.
* I'm hoping that Lynn Bowden goes full Vick against VA Tech and never even attempts a pass. It would start the decade right to see Kentucky football mount a juggernaut running offense and great defense in a bowl game.

There’s a huge difference between this team and the team that just beat Louisville. We have never seen a complete effort like that. That’s all we ask for. Go out there and battle, leave it all on the floor. You might suck, that’s ok, you can mess around and win something as long as you try hard.

UL fans must have talked themselves into this being "the year" because they're not taking it well. A lot of UK Football/Reds/Bengals like resignation takes out there. Makes for excellent reading, tho.

How was that payback for me? I hate Clemson and phony *** Dabo, eventho he is a fantastic coach.
Household payback would be Kentucky beating OSU in football or basketball.
At least now I can openly root for LSU in the championship game without fear of being cut off.

That Heat team is fun to watch. They’re legit and the surprise team in the East (15-1 at home) Nunn is nasty too.

Irrational 40-0 and/or GYERO snark aside we beat MSU who will be a top 20 team come tournament time. We played with OSU, and had a few calls gone right or balls bounce a slightly different way and maybe that’s a win. We beat UL who is a top 10 team.
I’m not comparing them to any other UK team, I’m stacking them against this seasons competition and I’m quite certain most days we are a top 10-15 team, and on our best days we are a solid top 10 team.
Sure we aren’t a dominating team by any means, and we’ll drop a few in the SEC, but we got the pieces to be dangerous and time to get our guys where we need to be for a 6 game run in March.

Bought $125 worth of John Wall shots at Gerstles yesterday, threw multiple L's down, several Eat a dicks etc. Probably should have had my *** kicked, but I was with a group of 40.

If we hit shots at a reasonable rate, we're pretty good and can beat anyone on a given day. If we're not, we're having a horrendous year. Pretty much as simple as that.
I don’t think we’re a particularly good team, but nobody else is, either. The title winner this year will likely be the worst one in decades ... but it still counts.
