It's not income, Bob. We each have $15,00 tax free we can give to an individual on an annual basis. So send me $15k to my venmo and I'll show you it doesn't push me into a different bracket.

Per person, per year.

My venmo and PP are open as well, thanks.

- Not sure if anyone has seen this (I'm sure @_nelson3, @B.B.d.K., and @RibsAndWhiteBread are aware), but if you took advantage of this incredible loophope within the Citi/AA credit card process they're now finally cracking down. AA, however, instead of just closing the loophole is going back and completely wiping out the accounts (along with miles) of folks who may have taken advantage. And those folks are ***pissed*** off. It really has brought out the worst in everyone involved now that it's gone mainstream. Citi looks incompetent for their application flaws; AA looks like the bad guy for just completely cancelling accounts without even an email/notice, some folks getting stranded on trips, folks losing MILLIONS of miles; and of course there's plenty of folks who exploited it who are losing their ever-loving minds on the FT and reddit forums.

I took FULL advantage and exploited it, probably over 2 MM miles in the last 3-4 years overall, and am likely losing the 400k in my account. But it was a good run. On to the next scheme.

Everybody knows it's sixty thousand free and clear, the government can't touch it, but you've gotta trust your wife, idiots. Haven't you seen Shawshank?

- Vegas was a GD blast.

- Split time between hanging out with dad, some local friends and BBdK.

- Best streak I've ever had in my life on the tables. By far. Won a substantial amount each night, except the last won where I gave a chunk back. Came back about $3000 up.

- Basically no sleep in 4.5 days, you could tell dad was a bit disappointed.

At one point he came down for breakfast and saw me still on the BJ table at the Cromwell around 11AM...and I was still in full drunk mode, betting big, and displaying a bit of PDA with some chick I met a few hours before (no hooker).

- Dad was a trooper on Fremont the last night though. Felt bad for the guy, he got diverticulitis right before the trip...couldn't eat well or drink at all the entire trip.

- Haven't left my couch since getting back.

Actually seems to still be clear. Gifts under $15,000 are not taxed. Like everything else with the IRS, it's best to keep records and make sure you're within the guidelines.
Gifts over $15K aren't taxable to person receiving either. And for the gifter, only gifts over $15K per year per person count against Fed Estate Tax Exemption of $11M. Net, if you aren't worth $11M, gift as much as you like to whomever you want forever.

Dear Wayne and Cole, the bet was not whether there would be 8 consecutive spins of a certain color - the bet is just on the next spin. If you spun seven in a row of red - the eighth spin would completely reset again - and it would still be a 50/50 shot of either color. Neither the ball or roulette table have any idea what the previous spin was. Same as if you were flipping a quarter. The only way the “odds are in your favor” is if you’re betting on a series of spins lumped together.

Dear Ron - I took like 3 enjoyable classes during my time getting a degree at UK, and one of them was STA 320 which is Probability. So I know well-enough about how the previous spin has no influence on the next spin.
My assumption was that they walked up to a roulette table and planed to bet black until it hit, possibly upping their bet each time as “eventually it’s going to hit black”. This is the “gambler’s ruin” situation, but aligns to the ~0.02% chance I described.
It now sounds like they started on #5, and Cole stayed on black through roll #10, so in this case the chance of losing six consecutive spins of betting black (or red) is around 2%.

But more enjoyable and controversial to discuss than roulette strategy is this: do you all feel someone at your blackjack table who isn’t playing the “right way” (e.g., hits on a 13 against a dealer showing a 5) impacts the rest of the table one way or the other?

Made a huge batch of gumbo and hosting the wife’s family (40+) for Christmas Eve. My roux is on point. 1 part oil, 1 part flour - put on high heat and stir the hell out it until a brown so dark it’s a few shades away from black. Also serving up Po Boys and then of course whatever non-Cajun crap the in-laws decide to bring over. As mentioned, cuz is back on the sauce, so there will be Abita beer and Bourbon. [cheers]

The surveillance outside my house is still going strong. They’re up to about five weeks now of 16-hour per day shifts. I wave to them, but don’t get much of a response. Maybe a bowl of my gumbo will put them into the Christmas Spirit.

Regular season champ in one league, Playoff champion in my other. $$$$ coming my way, more than enough to cover a splurge on a William Larue Weller...I’m sure it will taste like victory.

Merry Christmas to all.

EJ scoring more won't help us until his game completely transforms into something more efficient that fits with what everyone else is trying to do. He takes some of the least efficient shots on the court. He puts himself in positions and takes shots that completely negate his height and strength. His presence outside stops the movement of the ball as he always looks for his shot for several seconds before passing (if he passes at all.) A 6'10 guy who can't shoot taking long twos subtracts from what we're trying to do. Significantly.

What's strange to me is that Cal has taken every post player he's ever had, from Cousins to KAT... Even Skal, and tried to force them down into the post where they can play more traditionally. Guys who actually have a face up game, he forces to first learn the post game. Then in late February and March he lets them loose a little bit. EJ on the other hand seems to have a total green light to pretend he's Dirk Nowitzki when he desperately needs to learn how to bully inside. I really don't get it.

At Memphis Calipari seemed to have a solid philosophy for bigs: get athletes who could rebound and defend and surround them with high quality guards.

Joey Dorsey was a damn good college 5. He'd easily be our best frontcourt player now.

A 21 year old kid I know from back home through church and working at the school just passed away last night. No accident, no drugs or alcohol, no history of health problems, just didn’t feel well for a couple days, went to the hospital and just...died. Came from an ideal family, dad a principal, mom a teacher, he was All-State band, Governor’s Scholar, leader in the church, and about to graduate from UK.

Just a harsh reminder that no matter who we are our time is never guaranteed. Make sure and cherish your loved ones young and old when you see them these next few days.

Carey, Wiseman, Stewart, Dante, Oscar, McDaniels and Blackshear. I mean... but there he was dumping it down low all week in Vegas when he has 3 really good guards and Sestina smoking hot.

It blows my mind that he could whiff on all those guys being the recruiter he is, and his track record with elite bigs. If you’re an elite big you should be salivating to come here.

For all my bitching, pretty awesome to have Calipari named as the Coach of the Decade. Even when he's a pain, he's one of the absolute best college coaches of all time. Looking back at the greats, there have been times when they looked like they had missed a step and then regained their mojo. Coach K being the most obvious example.

Merry Christmas to all. Even UKO. Even though for Christmas I wish someone would introduce him to the UNC basketball board so he could go where he is wanted.

Despite landing Bam, I think it’s easy to negative recruit Cal on the bigs after the KAT strategy.

The NBA is a face up game and he doesn’t allow that to be a focus.
