Pretty remarkable just how often UK’s guys perform well in the NBA compared to their peers.

Indeed. This post is also a completely passive aggressive call for the ***** Bus response of "It would be nice if they played that well at UK." Which has some truth to it, but not the whole truth.

If I told you to name the UK players who would be major contributors to a top 5 NBA teams how long do you think it would take you to get to Herro and Bam.

-36 million dollars per year to play baseball. Mercy. Not sure on the decision to make that money in the Bronx considering his new Congresswoman would like to tax him at 70% BUT congrats nonetheless.

-Lynn the Legend and back to back national football awards for the University of Kentucky. Very cool stuff.

-Tried getting G a Tyler Herro Miami Vice blue jersey but those suckers are back ordered like a mofo. Oh well, went with the traditional black for now and wait listed.

-Really late to the party but the Rogan podcast has been filling my drive time. His talk with Gabbard is really interesting. I can dig most of what she's pitching. Of course I like the one with Gladwell and Rinela and I really enjoy those two.

-Why do we play Vandy at 6:30p at Rupp this year? That's really odd.

It's totally normal for a fat woman to expose her bare *** on live TV and to thousands of people and then be cheered on by the press for it. I don't see what the big deal is and shut up bigot!

*In a more civilized time she would have been hauled off to jail and never heard from again and the world would be a better place

A note for young parents in here. Our twin boys would watch UK football. It was during the decline (2009-2014). I screamed and got angry so much they didn’t want to watch anymore.

Five years later one has come back around. Flying to the bowl, pre-game field passes, etc. Making up for lost time I suppose. He’s 15 now. The point I’m making is don’t be like me. Screaming and yelling won’t make the refs blow the whistle on a delay of game against UF. Won’t help Stoops get 11 on the field either.

Learn from my mistakes. Enjoy those moments with your kids. It flies by.

UK fans rooting for UofL for any reason are the same losers who in 2013 wanted them to win it because it was good for the state.

It’s effective for getting your wife to leave you alone tho!

So Max Duffy, the nation's leading punter, was voted 2nd Team ALL SEC by the coaches? [eyeroll]

-My families were/are complete animals with UK sports, and I'm happy to carry on the tradition. My doggies just go in the bedroom w/ mom and hide under the bed.

I’m not a huge yell at the TV guy, but in the rare case I do it my dog is the only “member” of the family who can’t take the heat. He can tell if I’m getting mildly agitated anout UK and leaves the room when that happens.

Yep. All it takes for me is sitting up/leaning forward on the edge of the couch, or standing/pacing --------> and they're gone.

I'm the type to be really quiet until it boils over then let out a 2-3 word screaming barrage and return to silence. Typically catches everyone around me off guard. Many times I'll slap whatever inanimate object(chair, seat back, table, pillow) is in front of me. Guess it's better than throwing things or punching walls.

If she was skinny and white no one would have said anything!!!!11!

Nope. In fact, if a famous skinny white woman did the same thing the people taking up for it now would somehow claim the white person is racist for doing it.

Looks like John reads GYERO...

For the season, Kentucky has a scoring margin of +18 points/100 possessions (adjusted for opponent strength). During the 5 games where EJ Montgomery has played, they've been even better at +26/100 poss. During these games, there's been a big difference in how UK played depending on whether they played 2 or 3 guards (Hagans/Quickley/Maxey/Juzang):
  • UK has played 2 guards 58% of the time, and has an adjusted margin of +17 pts/100 poss
  • UK has played 3 guards 42% of the time, and has an adjusted margin of +39 pts/100 poss
During the last 2 games (against UAB and Fairleigh Dickinson) have been the first 2 games this season where UK played 3 guard lineups more often than 2 guards. In both games, UK was better on a per-possession basis with 3 guards:
  • Vs UAB, UK was -7 in 30 possessions with 2 guards and +22 in 33 possessions with 3 guards
  • Vs FDU, UK was +7 in 17 possessions with 2 guards and +19 in 34 possessions with 3 guards

UK's guards in particular shoot much better on two pointers when UK plays 3 guard lineups. The last 2 games against UAB and FDU were a perfect example. Hagans, Quickley, and Maxey were 7-15 on 2 pointers in these games when UK had a 3 guard lineup, but 2-10 when UK had only 2 guards on the court. I went back and watched film, and the key appears to be UK's spacing and the increased aggressiveness driving the ball. When UK has 3 guards, all 3 tend to be on the perimeter and driving lanes are more open. They attack closeouts and get into the paint frequently, looking to score. When UK has only 2 guards, there is usually a teammate or two around the paint, and the defense clusters there. The guards tend to be driving into defenders, and pass more often than they shoot. UK also uses more pick and roll when playing 2 guard lineups, but this tends to draw a crowd of defenders and clog up driving lanes.

^ Love that dude. And pretty clear our best lineups. Looking forward to the next 4 games. Last year, they assuaged fears and re-identified the Cats as title contenders. Big few weeks, boys.

Those are the 2 games Sestina has been out. Let's wait and see if the trend continues when he gets back first.
