Fine except they said EJ was 6'9, have gotten multiple players foul counts wrong, are mispronouncing "JuZONG", have said that Hagans last 3 assists were his 12th... It's like watching a game with two guys at a party who don't watch a lot of basketball and they're just pulling stuff out of their *** and you don't know or want to know either of them enough to correct them, so you just sit there and internally eye-roll at them. Except these guys are getting paid to subject the entire fan base to it.

Other than that they're fine.
I’d rather roll my eyes at obvious errors than cringe at nonstop stupid effing stories and wannabe catch phrasess.

so yeah.

Whitney has yet to translate his athletic ability into a single measurable skill in games. That outstanding finish once every two games is great and fun, but he doesn't rebound, he doesn't handle the ball, and he can't make a shot. One could rationalize his PT if he were Ben Wallace or Bruce Bowen defensively, but we all know he's not that. If we had to win a game, there is no way he should see the court barring injury or foul trouble.

^ like many freshman monster athletes before him, it just doesn't show up in games. He plays small, and is basically a broke jump shooter - his elite athleticism doesn't come into play at all except on the rare (wide open) lob, or that one monster block. Seen it countless times now.

Hate to do it, but I'm not giving 21-25 points vs anyone right now. Pretty easy money currently.

We're 1-4 ATS since EKU.

Start the season so early only to barely play any games in December. Ridiculous.

Pretty meh second half.

We aren't looking like a top 10 team right now, but we've at least stopped the bleeding after the Evansville and Utah Valley State games. There are some flashes of outstanding play. Hagans, Richards, and even EJ tonight seem to be sliding into roles.

Maxey is still volatile. Whitney is a net negative when he is in, Brooks is still raw, and Juzang is green. That's what is killing us right now. Luckily, assuming Maxey can get his sea legs, we only need 1 out of the Brooks, Juzang, and Whitney group to evolve into a solid contributor when we get into crunch time. That would let us roll with a solid 7 man rotation.

Only issue I see with that is Whitney has a seemingly free pass, which is potentially stunting the growth/opportunities for the others, both of which I prefer.

Not only that on the individual level, but also it stunts the growth of our own strategical development. Juzang, for example, at the 3 is completely different than Whitney in that role. Him playing those minutes changes how we play as a team due to disparate skill sets.

I'm not trying to be mean but I don't even see what Whitney is gonna work on. He's so far from being able to handle at a level that's going to allow him to get anywhere with the ball. He's a year of very hard work away from having a dependable jump shot (if it ever happens at all.) I hate to be tough on the kid but I'm not sure who saw him and thought he was a top 10 player in this recruiting class. He's an athlete who looks good in a uniform, and I'm not sure what else. He looks like a 3-year player to me. His upside is Wenyen Gabriel. At least there's a rumor that Juzang can shoot.

He was one of the top 2-3 players at the NBA Camp with all the top guys. Scouts were gushing in unison over him. Just never know what's going to happen once they get HERE...

His ceiling ls light years above Gabriel, but he's got a longggggg way to go to reach it, obviously. He's being misused, and for some weird reason has the longest leash on this team. Cal obviously worships, and I've heard from a few of our GYERO insiders that he's told many the same.

How does a coach like Cal get to this point, and consistently misuse players?

Every year seemingly 1-2 players fall into this category though and it honestly leaves me disinterested until the UL game.

Whitney is an undersized college 4. So tell him to grab boards and play d or sit him. I don't understand why he wouldn't let Towns or Davis shoot 3s but let's other guys have a green light. Nor understand why he was starting over Maxey.

Sorry if his feelings get hurt, what going to happen in 8 months when he's playing in the g league? What happened to "I can't hide you." Because that'd really help about now.

Spot on Cal missed big on the dragon - kid can't play - has no ball skills - Juzang is better right now but Cal is hard headed

Need to be smarter about when to go for it on 4th and when to pin them with Duffy.

Probably should always go for two because there is a good chance Poore misses the XP

Feeling strangely confident. Weather plays into our hands, they can't stop the run, they struggle specifically with filling gaps, and our running attack is built on finding the gaps and hitting them.

We need to come out with the same game plan as we did against Tennessee. Grind them down, wear them out. 15-18 play drives.

I think they land a couple of homerun plays that keep it stressful, but ultimately they can't get their defense off the field and the cats win 23-17. Stolen Scholarship misses another extra point.

I can hear their fans now. "We only lost by seven with the weather against us, and our QBs Evan and Mikale both having gotten the flu from studying so hard for their classes, and so basically that's like a win for us. Coach Scotty in his first year already has us owning the state again, basically, except for the final score. Great day to be a cardinal fan!"

Nothing but respect for the people actually going to the game, but sitting at home on this cold/rainy/miserable day with nothing to do all day but watch football is one of life's great pleasures
