Campus Coupon Mint Shorts:

-Mr. GoodCents was terrible. Somehow there are still over 80 of them.

-Blimpie still has 250 Locations. Boring, but solid for a basic cold cut.

-Pizza Magia dissolved in 2005

-RIP TM Riders. Way ahead of it's time w/ Delivery of non-pizza food.

-Nighthawk Special still going strong, I guess? Still wonder who in the world actually goes there.

-Cut Corner every Friday morning for a CMR/No Limit release.

-Mad Mushroom Super 20, add pep, was the drunken/stoned play.

-Would actually pay decent money for Slice of Chicago's recipes. Their cheesesticks > mad Mushroom. Everything on that menu was straight :fire:

Folding it before class so it fits perfectly inside your notebook so the professor wouldn't see it was true rite of passage. I grabbed 2 copies everyday, one to read and one to remove all other pages except the crossword so it would fold as thin as possible.

All in all, the Kernel was a pretty damn good college paper.

1996-1998 Student Center food court was pure ****.
-horrible *** pizza.
-greasy *** long johns.
-can't even remember the other **** that was there.

Commons:
-the flat top grill place killed sandwiches.
-The asians working the wok station ruled.
-Burger and Pizza place sucked. Onion Rings when fresh would do in a pinch.
-Did anyone even eat the cafeteria commons food set out for dinner?

Other than the obvious storylines, here's what I'm curious to see during the upcoming NBA season....

-Can Denver make the leap? How much pressure will Murray feel trying to justify his contract extension?
-How will John Beilein handle the transition to the pro game, especially coaching a team that will likely lose at least 65 percent of its games?
-Will Jimmy Butler finally be content now that he's playing in a city that he chose, and will he be able to actually lead?
-Can Fox and the Kings somehow sneak into that 7th- or 8th spot in the West, now that Hield's been extended?
-Whose hands will have the ball when the Sixers need a big bucket?
-Can you build a team around Pascal Siakam?
-How "back" will Porzingis be?

Rookies I'm curious to watch:
-Herro, naturally
-Hunter
-Romeo
-Garland
-Reddish

My dad graduated from UK in 78’, me in 01’ and we basically roamed the exact same campus.

I go there now and it’s like Marty McFly going into the future in II, looking around like WTF?
The students (and their parents) are paying for it, trust me. I don't know how anyone affords college anymore.

If the kids holding red dots up during the halftime show at a football game didn’t do it, then I don’t think it’s gonna happen.

* Friendly reminder:

- it costs about $4,500 a year to go to LCC
- it costs about $12,500 a year to go to UK

That's before getting a job, scholarship, grant, or work study.

Yeah, yeah. Of course these young human beings need shelter, clothing, food. Part of the cost of living, regardless of whether you go to college or not. Books? You buy old ones online for pennies on the dollar. It can be done.

* Some awesome photography from my event this weekend:

https://www.tomasorihuela.com/2019-...VblaJskuzyHG29xj4mqoejbYHQ8AhQoaXknqldzIbYqLw

* In today's "people's stupidity continues to amaze me," a facebook friend reposted a meme/pic of that Muslim congresswoman holding an uzi, with a caption about it being her training in an Al Queda camp in Somalia.

I mean. The fact that people so dumb can manage to even tie their shoes and walk down the sidewalk is astounding to me.

* Smug life:

My favorite coffee shop is just trolling their clientele. When they opened, they didn't have wifi (on purpose). They got wifi, but eventually covered up all of the outlets/plugs. Now, they limit you to 1 hour on the wifi. ********.

* Nearly posted yesterday that the Stros would win in 5, but damn. Their bullpen sucks, but Scherzer is a hall of famer, and Strasburg isn't far behind. Turner-Rendon-Soto are about as good as it gets for your top 3 position players. They may just pull this off.

-we're not neccesarily averse to starting at bctc foe core curriculum...its a hell of a deal. Would not want to to multiple years there. See below.

-for better or worse living on campus is a *huge* part of the college experience/education. I sometimes think the social aspect is as if not more important than academics. Commuting seems sad, tbh.

-a big state school isn't the best for all kids...so that has to be taken into consideration.

- was kinda hoping one of those pics was you DIAF. Nonetheless, congrats on pulling that off, event planning is a huge pain in the ***. Looks like you have the makings of an annual event now.

- As an 18 yr old I couldn't imagine going to a small school in the middle of nowhere. As a 43 yr old, I dream of it.

-Kinda looking at making my way back to Lou, nothing holding me in Knox anymore. Dread job searching though.

G’s school does pizza lunch every other Wednesday and they serve Mad Mushroom. He LOVES it. Kinda concerning?

I made it through 3 rounds of interviews with a fortune 10 company without ever providing a resume. I thought LinkedIn killed those things off.
