I think my favorite part of his rant is he says something about people being mad about losing to UGA.

Yeah boss, don’t think UGA is the problem.

Why was that game at noon, anyway? It couldn't possibly have been for TV reasons since it was on the alternate SEC channel.

If the game had been at 3:30 or 7, turnout would have been much, much better.

It is just a really hard sell for a lot of people to get the family ready to head down to Commonwealth for a noon snoozer when Thanksgiving is coming up and most people will be driving all over creation, etc.

Maybe they figured that they've already ruined the tailgate scene, so why even worry about giving people time to have some fun before the game. Idk.

Snoozer? That was one of our best offensive performances of the year! Second half of the USC game to the end of the Tennessee game were the snoozers!

Hopefully next year Chris Oates will be starting and Daniels will primarily be a situational player used on run downs. He was amusing for a couple weeks, now I'm just ready for him to shut up and pursue his career in wrestling after next season.

I think it’s impossible for a kid like Kash to have perspective...he gets s pass. Although, going after the UK football fan base on any level is a joke.

The administration, as Hank points out, deserves the real blame. If you are going to schedule a game like this ticket prices should be dirt cheap and you should have a major push to get season ticket holders to sell or give away their tickets so the stadium fills up.

When there are 40K fans wearing blue at PJS this weekend I hope Kash and co. deliever a better product than they did for the people that spent their money to go to Knoxville.

-The reds are in trade talks for Sonny Gray which would be a pretty big get if it works out.

-Sounds as if Brohm is signed and just waiting out Purdue’s season.

- Big gambol day today. Didn’t realize I made so many bets but I’m fairly confident in just about every game which is not good.

Panthers, Bengals, Titans, Jags, Falcons, Texans, Broncos, and Vikings

People don’t care to drop $$$ and essentially an entire Day to watch a ****** opponent...at Noon. Unless you live in Lexington, that’s just a very hard sell. Has very little to do with our record...if we’d beaten UT the crowd wouldn’t have been much better. :100points:

Vocal “Football First” UK fan is a supremely annoying breed, that’s for certain. They remind me of Hollywood liberals in that they seem oblivious to the fact their condescending “efforts” actually have an adverse affect on their goals/agenda. .

The administration had NOTHING to do with the noon kick. Good grief. How long have you all been following SEC football? The tv networks determine what time we get and it’s been this way for almost 10 years running.

Also, quit bitching about he opponent. We just got done playing 8 SEC games and play our intra state rival the last game of the year. Who should we schedule? Another power 5 school? And actually, MTSU is a quality team. They have a bunch of dudes who grew up in SEC states that were overlooked or started at a SEC school & transferred to MTSU for whatever reason. They’re playing in their conference championship.

Nobody i know disputes any of that. Just something not as many people are going to attend. It’s really very simple, and I don’t need to be lectured on my decisions.

You, for example, gave your tickets away for free on Facebook - so it obviously wasn’t worth your time either. It’s just an unfortunate fact of the late season ‘get right’ game.

True. I’m not mad at the people for not going although it would’ve been nice to have seen a better turnout for a successful group of seniors.

I’m just pointing out that people who ***** at the administration for the noon kick and opponent are being silly.

I mean look at the way we traveled for Tennessee and A&M. Look at the Georgia crowd. Bbdk is right, the variable is time and opponent. All losses, btw.

Team and fans obviously both play a part in building a program. One hand washes the other. But don't complain about the fans taking a week off when you know as players you've taken weeks off too. Need consistency from both sides. I'll be perfectly honest, knowing that this team could at any time show up and lose 17-7 for no apparent reason has been a factor when I think about getting out to games this year.

I think it’s more about the lack of effort to bring pricing down, facilitate getting tickets into hands of people that will go, etc.

Couple months ago they were doing $10 ticket promotions in Pikeville and it worked. Do that stuff again.

Side note: A lot of season ticket holders have hit the road this year to go to A&M (they said they haven’t seen a fan base like that since Bama), Mizzou, UT and probably UL. At some point people will sit out one.

Are the people complaining about yesterday’s attendance also complaining about there only being about 12k at the basketball game Wednesday night?

Unless there’s added incentive people are not going to pay $50+ a ticket anymore unless it’s convenient and worth it when they can watch every game at home on a 50 inch HD TV. It’s a different time and eventually college athletics will adapt or crowds will keep getting worse.

It will be interesting to see how many turn out tonight. A crap opponent in the middle of Sunday dinner is less than ideal.

STFU. Now you’re bitching just to ***** like a damn female. This team hasn’t taken weeks off. We lost to a ridiculously loaded UGA team that has had the #1 class the last 2 years, is playing about as good as anyone in the country right now and will play in the playoff if OSU beats Michigan. We then laid an egg against UT. It happens.

I’ve been watching this **** and been going to that stadium since 1988 and like many of us have suffered through some depressingly bad to mediocre football. We’re 8-3 and will be 9-3 after we kick UL’s *** on Floyd St this Saturday that will cement us in probably the Citrus Bowl or Outback Bowl. Let’s start nitpicking and whining about noon kickoffs against MTSU.

We also play at 1pm this Wednesday against Winthrop. Nice little work diversion but cannot imagine much of a crowd.

I've been to road games the past 11 years, none closer than a 6 hour drive.

UK's record? 2-11. And those two were pleasant surprises.

And thousands of other UK fans routinely, blindly, faithfully and without question, spend more time and money than that.

As has been pointed out, UK Football Fan has a credit balance for all of eternity. Critics can EAD.

Just saw where Mike McIntyre has been let go at Colorado. Other than Kirby Smart (he would have left for UGA no matter what) is there anyone else we considered in 13 that still has a P5 head coaching job?

And Stoops is arguably the 2nd or 3rd most successful hire from the 13 coaching changes class.

I thought my post was pretty measured. I'm not complaining. The crowd has been mostly good this year with some inconsistency and so has the team. Never said we're not on an all-time high. Not sure what kind of semantics you're arguing here between taking the week off and laying an egg.

THERE IS NO GOOD TIME FOR A
Anyone else who didn’t go to the game have any preaching for the fans? Or just Richie?

It’s Sunday, Marcus Welby get it all out.

Umm... Go back and ready my posts. I don’t care what people did with their time on Saturday. The older I become the more I realize that Saturdays are absolutely precious time, especially for those with families, sports, activities, etc, etc. Fans can do whatever the heck they want. It’s their money and their time

My whole point was for those bitching just *****.

WHY ARE WE PLAYING MTSU AT NOON?! STUPID, UK!1

MAYBE IF THE TEAM ACTED LIKE THEY CARED!

Lamar Jackson had 27 carries today which were the most for a quarterback in an NFL game since 1950.

Damn, terrible call by ref in IU game, gotta let that go, imo. I like it.

Even the cockiest of DAWGS can't manufacture swagger when the other team scores on you every time down the court.

When everything in sports is geared around TV, you can’t be surprised when people ... stay home and watch games on TV. And, spoiler alert, attendance is only gonna get worse everywhere.

Yep. Rising ticket prices. The GYERO generation aging and liking the recliner better than uncomfortable arena chairs. And the younger folks just not caring about going.
