Eh. That article was utter ******** but the key issue for Cal right now is whether he can figure a system that keeps good kids as upperclassmen while still delivering on the promise to get elite talent to the NBA ASAP.

The fact that PJ Washington apparently believes he's a draft pick is prima facie evidence that Calipari f***ed the f** up.

Was just partially listening, but I thought I heard Jones say the other day that people around Washington see him as a “poor man’s Lebron.”

Kind of like I’m a poor man’s Clooney.

And to spare the easy rebuttal, yes that article says this:

It comes down to a challenge of talent sequencing, and, as long as NBA eligibility rules remain the way they are, the task to be accomplished will also remain the same. The challenge is this:

It's feasible for a Duke or a Kentucky to put a team on the floor every season that is (almost) entirely made up of one-and-done talent. However, teams fitting that profile tend to be ranked higher in November (Kentucky has been ranked in the top five nationally in the last seven consecutive preseasons) than in April.

When these two talent-rich programs get their arms around this challenge of talent sequencing, then we'll really see something. Both programs answered the challenge successfully, by accident or design, in 2014-15. Chances are they will do it again soon.

I absolutely agree with all that, as does everyone here.

But the ******** is that everyone knows that.

So how to fix it?

Hopefully, we can get this dude for next year.
Hopefully Joel can hook up the Wisemans with better curtains and pillows. Mercy.

^ Doing such lists, you realize how lopsided we have been. Great PGs, 2Gs and Cs. Forwards have been an issue.

WCS was a consensus 1st Team AA & NABC Defensive POY who had an actual "career" here, not so sure he shouldn't be above Towns based on your criteria -- although I get it.

-PF isn't bad especially when Cuz and Towns played a little of both. Regardless, Randle, Patterson, Jones and Lyles is a solid list. SF is the issue.

-I'm sure Cal goes to a fancy tailor but I bet the dude is 80+ years old. He's always sported those baggy *** threads. Especially the slacks.

-Don't often have Monday night cocktails. For good reason. Feeling a tick off on Tuesday is not as pleasurable as the Thursday or Friday hangover @SAE was waxing poetic.

-Keeneland double tap for Thurs/Sat.

-What could go wrong with ABH and BBdk staying the weekend with me?

I stay with you 7-10 nights per year on average and nothing goes wrong, as I've rounded into an exemplary houseguest over the years - so if it does, we know who to blame.

-I know next to nothing about this Bassey kid. He has to be the highest ranked kid playing his final year at a Louisville school since...? Osborne?

^Believe Bassey and a couple of his teammates at Aspire were going to DeSales. From my understanding he's getting the Ayton treatment b/c his handler is super shady.

Aaron Harrison HAS to be above Devin Booker. Booker didn't do **** at Kentucky though that wasn't his fault. But you said based on what they did at Kentucky. And Aaron Harrison did a lot.

Speaking of SGs...what's up with our boy Jodie Meeks? Didn't see that one coming but I guess you do what you do what you have to do to stay in the league.

Boston Marathon was an absolute **** show yesterday. Of the elite pro's 23 bailed on the race. Ice, wind, rain. A Japanese dude who looks 90 won and an American female. The 2nd place female was a nurse, not even a pro runner. Slowest female time in like 30-40 years.

Sports are great.

- lol @ Anth. Thought Jerome was staying with PTI? Is he allowed to invite Uber drivers in?

- 73, you’re probably right. Aaron was pretty disappointing in ‘15, though.

- Towns was us a big game in ‘15. Did WCS ever do anything in March?

Who are we kidding? Larry will not make it to any part of this weekend.

All the signs point to the usual, as he’s gone ghost this week. Typical behavior leading up to a classic ditch.

Next step is him blaming ME as the reason, bc of this post and texts.

False

Btw, congrats to all those who had Bam Adebayo as the guy to make an NBA All Rookie team from last year's bunch. Good for him.

WCS is the most overrated player of the Cal era, AA honors were basically a nod to that great team and him as an upperclassman on it. Twins get all the heat for Wisconsin but he was the biggest no show of the bunch.

Had some cool dunks and quotes, though.

Devin Booker, actually.

So basically as long as you find a real school that they can go to, you can start your very own prep basketball team out of nowhere.

Best NBA shorts in the modern era(think 90 on)?

I feel like my Lexington bachelor party post may have sent the wrong message yesterday. Poor tone on my part, I guess. Truth is, Keeneland and nostalgic bar hopping sounds like a PERFECT setup. Enjoy, wcc. I’m jealous.

Thanks- I didn’t take it the wrong way. Just wanted to get as many of my buddies as possible there. Hard getting new dads out for an entire weekend.

I'm no NBA Ball and have collectively watched around 2.5 minutes of it this season, but I'd really prefer the LA Lakers to be the dominant team in the West and the Knicks, Bulls, or Celtics to be the dominant team in the East. Just better IMO.
