If Kentucky was Kansas and Cal was Self RIGHT NOW Chad would be destroying them on the national board with merciless snark, and rightfully so.

So spare me the "whiny *****" label, Chad. Have the same expectations for your program as you do for Kansas. Seems like a simple ask.

Offensive rebounding, absolutely. I think the defensive rebounding will still be pretty solid.

If you're making shots, you don't have to worry so much about offensive rebounding. Fingers crossed .

*Trying really hard to spin this positively.*

Responding to any Cal criticism with a rundown of his lifetime achievements is a typical local talk-radio move.

“Hey... do you think Cal has used the high screen with the 5 too much this year?”

“Maybe... but WHO ELSE DO YOU WANT AS THE COACH? Who else has been better over the last 10 years? Do you want Billy back?”

It’s just tired and lazy. There are a whole lotta exit ramps between valid Cal/team complaints this year and wanting him gone (which no one does).

Nice try, but there is no positive spin. Losing him sucks and nothing on our roster changes that or makes it not suck. We are much worse without him and that’s just tough **** for us.
I completely agree. We looked our best when he was playing. Dude is the best rebounder in cbb. Sounds like it's not his foot so that's good.

Duke's recruiting stole our fish.

I think most people are unhappy because we are suffering through typical young team growing pains but everyone knows a good portion of the team will bounce in a few weeks and we won't get to see the fruits that suffering through growing pains normally produce.

That’s not what it is, though. I wasn’t responding to Geesefeeder thinking Cal should go smaller or run better offense. It was in response to a couple little bitches in here who do nothing but post snarky ******** daily.

They needed some perspective and I’m happy to give it to them.

And @ me if you want to call me out.

- I reserve my Cal criticisms for when he gets outcoached with better talent on the floor in an Elite Eight or Final Four game.

- Vando on a few draft boards as a late 1st, completely absent on others. The one bright spot of this injury could be it keeps him from maxing his draft status and coming back next year.

- Trying to temper any enthusiasm on Herro, but it's not easy. If he can play any semblance of defense and not lose his confidence a la Hami, he could be our Luke Kennard. Or Anthony Peeler.

- Anthony Davis starting to get MVP talk. 9 game win streak after Boogie goes down, and they have a shot to get to the 3 seed in the West on his back. Stay healthy, big guy.

- Eff this late snow. I'm ready to drop some coin at Lowe's or Home Depot on my yard.

- Former co-worker in Nicholasville was murdered by her husband last night when she got home from work. Was the rental manager down there. Told him she wanted a divorce last Friday, and he took her life in front of their 1 and 3 y.o. kids last night then called the cops. Piece of ****.

Really good news on Vanderbilt...Yesterday folks were holding their breath around the program but things seem much more upbeat today

Comparing Cal to a fading late 90’s Crum or Knight is absolutely preposterous and feeds the UK fans are way too extreme narrative.

We had the longest winning streak in the country last year going into the Elite 8 and lost on a last second shot to the eventual national champ. Now, if several were more years go by and we haven’t landed in a Final Four I could see the it doesn’t matter we didn’t get to the promised land take.

@wcc31 ... hey

(Wasn’t actually calling anyone out but I’ve been told not to @ people for so long that this was too good of an opportunity to pass up)

Yeah, but you have to understand, it's me, and really just me and a couple of my friends. We don't make enough of a ripple to even get a place on the pie chart because we're crazy.

I didn't like the way he constructed the roster, despite liking the individual pieces, which I still do. That isn't like basketball passing Bob Knight and Denny Crum by at light speed at the same time. The nature of the program with the amount of roster turnover that happens every year means each season exists in its own vacuum. This one sucks. The last one didn't.

Well this is refreshing, actually. Chad's Kentucky Football NO EXPECTATIONS ALLOWED philosophy is now applicable to Kentucky Basketball.

Grab a coke, have something to read, and relax this March, folks.

That story was too awful to comment on and lacked an element like a baked good on a porch or fur coat given for new reason so I think we all passed.

I’m picking up Willy tonight in Ohio and we’re driving down to Louisville to kick SAE and 73’s asses. We’ll be there by 7 or so depending on Watterson traffic, of course. Pack a lunch you negative bitches.

Whoa! I'll gladly distract 73 so you you can land a Newport sucker punch or two. But if you have a beef with SAE, I don't want any part of it. In fact, I might even help him.

Now, if you want to smack BBdK around, I'll pick you up immediately. And I'd drive to Texas tonight to help you make Chief and his sources bleed a little bit. But no SAE.

Unless he continues being a snarky ****, of course.

See this, GYERO?

This is the kind of calm and rational take we've come to expect from the guy, who on Saturday afternoons, belligerently screams and cusses out the TV in a crowded restaurant filled with scared, impressionable families/kiddos running around enjoying their Cats.

Good post and I also agree ---> the effing charge call is ruining effing basketball, C-SUCKERS!! Geezus H!!

I took off Friday so I could watch the Cats and start smoking over 80 lbs of meat for my Dad's party on Saturday.

"I'm so glad you are going to be home with me. You can help me move the..."

"Let me stop you right there, toots (Actually, I said Babe, but in my exaggerated retelling I like to pretend I'm Richie drawing a line in the sand). I'm smoking meat and watching basketball. There will be no redecorating or shampooing of the carpets. If you want to have sex during halftime, I can probably do that."

So yeah, I'm picking up a jug of Bissell carpet cleaner on my way home.
