BBM has become borderline pointless to watch. For me, it was always about the scrimmage. So if they're going to knock that down to only 10 minutes, there's not a lot there for me. Harrumph.

Has become? I think nearly all of us have thought this for 15 years or so. I love that we do it, but it doesn't do much for me. I fastforwarded through 80% of it.

Still haven't watched...may get to it, may not.

That televised ESPN Practice definitely takes away from some of the "first look" charm that it once provided, even if it wasn't much to begin with.

Definitely not mad at BBM though -- it's for the fans, a large % of which love it, not to mention the huge recruiting showcase it's always been -- with Cal obviously taking that to a new level.

BBM is just a recruiting tool/pep rally. Honestly the most impressive things for me was seeing the new scoreboard and watching Brad Calipari make a wicked number of 3's.

Much more excited about the blue white game as well.

-Solid weekend in the Derby City. Friday night Fall Festival at the little one's school. Saturday a 3 year old's birthday party (pony rides FTW). Saturday night I took drunk walking around house to house in the Highlands. Sunday morning golf at Hurstbourne. A couple cold ones post-round. I'll take it.

-I think we end this little skid against Mississippi State Saturday night, folks. If we can play even slightly competent defense and control the clock with our ground game Cats by 7.

-I won't be at the tailgate this week, Anth. I also won't be taking an alternate route to the stadium. EAFD.

-Adrian and I sitting together at CWS this Saturday. First Wildcat game together since the 2014 Sweet 16 game iirc.

-Hurstbourne is the best course in the city (excluding Valhalla). Not sure it's close. Damn.

-Nice W for the Tigers over #2 Male Friday night. GP, Bluekel.

-New Rupp floor isn't bad. Nice look. Glad the baseline Kentucky has been updated.

-Chrome lids Saturday night.

- Props to the Army punter for going rogue and trying to pick up the first down on 4th & 44. Of course he lost 5 yards and fumbled but that’s a story you laugh about for the rest of your life. Respect.

-Bama doing Bama things, Ohio State with an ugly B1G win and Clemson gets the missed FG a contender seems to need each year.

-Knoxville sports talk radio is fantastic this morning.

-The CFP is praying for Baylor to lose. Praying.

-Kind of amazing Washington is top 5, undefeated with a fairly clear path the rest of the way yet isn’t getting much pub. Really complete team.

-Nebraska and West Virginia are posers.

-Really excited for this Saturday and not gonna try to hide it. We match up well with MSU and this is the kind of toss-up home game that would show we’re moving forward (no matter how slowly).

-Openly and unapologetically rooted against the Cubs to lose in the most heartbreaking matter possible. I want that fan base to break.

-Standing supper plans with friends every 2-3 weeks sounds kinda awesome. More than that? Meh but understand the appeal.

The "Well why was she out at 3am anyway?" crowd probably needs to change their argument to "Well why were people shooting at each other" as that seems to make more sense to complain about at this point.
You can discuss both. I think it's fair to ask why a 15 year old girl was hanging out at 3am. Obviously not shedding blame from the idiots with a gun but still that struck me as uncomfortable.

One of the idiots was in illegal possession of a firearm, considering he's 21 and already a felon.

And why is that restaurant open at 3am, isn't America fat enough?

The pro scout day would have been a lot better if they just had Cal teaching and running things the whole time instead of those 3 windbags droning on and on. And less shots of the practice facility ceiling.

Well sure if everyone stayed home after 11PM until they were 18 years old- that would cut down on young kids being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

But it wasnt uncommon to be out late when we were 15-16 years old. And as far as I recall none of my friends were carrying guns or doing anything wrong... we were just out- hanging out, driving around, getting tacos, etc... I dont think any of that would justify getting caught in some type of gun battle.

That statement just comes across more like "Well this little black girl shouldve been at home anyway"

Small price to pay for a free two-hour national commercial for recruiting.

Agree. Shouldn't be your first thought. However, I'd be lying if I didn't think... "man what is a 15 year old girl doing on S Broadway at 3a?"

I watched it Saturday night. By watched I mean I fast forwarded 2.5 hours of Kara Lawson talking about last years team and god knows what. Played the part where Cal bullshitted about the family, fast forwarded through 75 players from the Joe b hall era and Woo line up behind Cal, then watched the intro's. ESPN couldn't even get the audio so it was terrible and kinda awkward. Didn't even watch the scrimmage because I've seen people dunk before. Did notice there was a dude in a straw hat sitting right behind the ESPN table so that was cool.

Destin Snack down:
Sunday night: the back porch. The capital of Destin restaurants. Crab cake sandwich and a landshark. Side of fries, slaw and a hushpuppy.
Monday: I ate ice cream for dinner
Tuesday: cooked hotdogs and hamburgers on the grill. Couple of the burgers were a little rare when I finished so I put them in the oven at 350 for about 10m.
Wednesday: Fudpuckers. Fried gator tail. This is actually an appetizer but I always pull some strings and get it for my entree. Side of fries and a coke in a souvenir cup.
Thursday: ordered a pizza and wings from Merlins - not sure what level of schooling the pizza chef had or where he attended pizza school but my man graduated top of his class. No doubt. What a pizza
Friday: pepito's. This is a Mexican restaurant.

* If she had been carrying, she could have defended herself.

* Nothing worse than your kid being sick.

* Last soccer practices and games of the season this week. Thank God.

My 6-yr old has never played goalie. The coach decided to move her to goalie in the final qtr the other day against my wife's (asst coach) best judgement. 4 goals allowed.

I don't know if it is good or not good that it didn't bother her.

* I know its stupid, but I enjoy Mitchell's dancing. I don't think it is worth 1M per and the entire rest of the HOOPS madness should take place on a Tuesday, but the dancing is silly and entertaining to me.

* As far as the real Madness went, I love the look of this team.

I think the fact that they are all so athletic and fit is the reason that Meals doesn't like them.

* Cats by 4 Saturday. Why do I do this to myself?

* Have a good week, GYERO.

- Croup can DIAF, 4 year old has had it since Friday and not much improvement after steroids and countless breathing treatments. If it doesn't get better today, he has to go to the hospital for the night

- Wife's team won the female division of the Bourbon Chase by 3+ hours and finished 20th out of 430 teams, pretty damn impressive

- Not a fan of Ky Ale or West 6th beers, Rhinegeist and Apocalypse FTW

In high school, I was out until 3am more often than not in the summer. We'd play ball at Southern Hills UMC, and didn't even start until midnight. Usually followed that up with a late night 4th meal at Denny's. Don't recall ever deserving of a stray bullet to the head.

Yes, because people have insinuated she deserved it. If my sister and I were out past 12a we were grounded. Got caught a couple times, not pretty.

^ same. We had an "understanding" that I'd call if it was going to be past midnight (which rarely happened) or staying elsewhere.

the important point to make about the shooting is that the area around UK is getting less safe year after year, & local politicians havent done junk about it despite many high profile killings. don't even think a celebrities 15 yr old daughter getting capped will cause them to do anything about it.

(but good luck breaking 40% on your senate run mr mayor)

-[laughing] @ the sudden interest in tailgating and UKFB going to a bowl game. We had like 12 people last time and no one showed up until 2 hours before the game. Including Brooksie, who's attended for a full 30 minutes this year and 15 of that was shameful.

-Bob, haven't you been over for dinner before? For the rest of you. It's a small group of friends who eat a meal together. Mostly uneventful but good conversation. We typically do this twice a week. Now you can remind us how miserable that would make you and how dumb standing plans are.

-Speaking of bad decisions -> Keenland + BBM + Tony's + entertaining out of town guests + sick kid + Keeneland + Dinner + Brunch. Tired and FAT. "Let's go to the pumpkin patch... help clean out this entire room... watch G and don't take a nap..." "False toots, this was your idea. Nap and ride are in the cards."

-Anth is correct at LOL'ing at this sudden interest in tailgating. It's been a light crowd most of the season. However, I will say I knew this Miss St game would be the big one with the small chance we still have at making this season not completely craptastic.

-You all will be glad to know that I canceled Sunday Family Dinner last night.

It was a busy weekend, but I've never heard someone complain so much about "having" to go to the corporate suites and Keeneland Clubhouse 2 days in a row, hang out with Wildcat Friends, old Nashville friends and a tasty Sunday brunch with said friends and randomly, Quito Gato too.

^Really?

Lexington is incredibly safe. I like Gray as our Mayor and hope after Rand crushes him we just give him a lifetime deal.

Unlike other regions with falling crime rates, property crimes in the Lexington metro area increased by nearly 10% between 2009 and 2013. By contrast, the property crime rate fell by 10.1% across the nation over that period. Larceny was especially common in 2013, with 2,735 personal thefts reported per 100,000 area residents, one of the highest rates. However, Lexington’s violent crime rate has fallen dramatically from 440.3 incidents per 100,000 people in 2009, which was far higher than the national rate at that time, to 256.7 per 100,000 people in 2013, one of the lower rates.

They - mr ex senator -developed all that ****. They did put a nice big *** fence around that one, tho. That was thoughtful.

My favorite is still that redneck horse buggy casino or whatever lmao.
