Watched the game out my parents last night. Told them I was taking a halfday today and Mom asks, "Oh, that's nice. Are you working in the morning or going in in the afternoon?" smh

-Think Coolcat is right about Kenpom doing something shady with the rankings in the tourney. 12 spots for 1 game? Hmmm.

-When Crean came on the screen during our game last night, I asked my wife to look at him and tell me what she thought. She is not a college basketball and has never seen Crean before. She watched the entire sideline interview, took a few seconds then calmly said, "Child molester". :joy:

-Still really hate our defensive rebounding and the and 1's we give up. If we can even get by IU, I can't imagine how many touch fould and 1's Johnson/Hicks are going to have.

-Game tomorrow comes down to who is better shooting wide open or slightly contested 3's better. Neither team is worth a **** on defense.

-Duke/Yale. Because OF COURSE. Barf.

Ulis/Yogi -- Damn, what a matchup that's going to be. Can't think of two elite players who are more similar in the country. Ulis is the better point guard, but not by a whole lot. Gonna be incredible.

Really curious to see how each one of them reacts to going against another guy who's his equal in ability, size, and quickness. Wouldn't imagine either of them have had that happen in their entire career, at least to this level.

Hesitant to post this, but his Ulis ever been in foul trouble? Maybe one of the more underrated things about the guy...not only does he play the full game, he's *eligible* to play the full game, every game.

Do think we'll see Briscoe get his fair share of minutes on him...also think he's a good matchup for Williams off the bounce. Lacks height, but he can stay in front of him. Let that guy shoot all he wants.

-Zeisloft is their X factor. That guy can do one thing only, and about as good as anyone. Don't let him breathe.

-We aren't a great defensive team, but our 2 best defensive players are smart guards...I think that will make a big difference. They'll know what their job is. If IU is hitting, they're hitting -- but it won't be a shooting drill like many of their games this year, or yesterday. They'll have to work.

-Tossed & turned until about 3am last night...ugh. Gonna chill this evening, no plans of staying up til 1am for the last games, need to be ready on Saturday.

-Again, thank goodness we don't have the PRIME TIME (10pm) game. How miserable would that have made Saturday?

-Anyone seen an O/U for the game yet? It's going to be HIGH...170 wouldn't surprise me a bit, which would be the highest of the tourney thus far. Iona/ISU finished at 165, I'm guessing it will be that or above for sure.

* We play with the same defensive intensity tomorrow that we did last night, we win and cover. IU, as good as they are offensively, doesn't guard you. Hell, they couldn't keep the Chattanooga guards in front of them. They got no chance against our guards.

* Interested to see what the line does between now and tip. It opened at -3, and if it moves more than a point in UK's favor, my anxiety level will be significantly reduced. If it moves at all in IU's favor, I'll just assume the worst. If I remember correctly, we opened up at -7 against Wisconsin last year and by gametime, it was down to -4.5 or so.

* There'll be twice as much blue in the building tomorrow as there was last night. BBN is the savviest fanbase in the country when it comes to traveling to tournament sites. They know when they're needed. IU fans were just happy to be there last night. We'll still be outnumbered by IU fans (and KU/UConn fans will be rooting against us), but not by a ton.

* UK/Cal has 14 straight wins in NCAAT games against lower seeds. IU/Crean is 0-2 against higher seeds in the Tournament.

* I'm sure the fact that UK's defense was so much better last night has nothing to do with the fact that SEC refs weren't calling the game.

* The combined KenPom rankings of UK/IU: 19. The combined KenPom rankings of Duke/Yale: 58.

* Over/under on how many times the Watford shot will be shown between now and tipoff: 398½. Over/under on how many times any highlight from UK's win over IU in the Sweet 16 that year will be shown between now and tipoff: ½.

Best part of that Bleacher Report video was Patrick Patterson bouncing out of the tunnel against Cornell and going "THIS AIN'T NO SPELLING BEE! IT'S A BASKETBALL GAME!" Loved that guy.

My one observation from Friday that hasn't already been said was Purdue. If there's any proof that tournament play belongs to guards, it's Purdue. The inability of Purdue's guards to get the ball inside down the stretch was amazing, because it wasn't like the posts weren't working to get open. Purdue's guards just felt like taking all the shots.

And then the last play, where the one guy caught the ball in the corner and stared at Matt Painter for 3 seconds before bringing it up the court. That only happens to a team that is micromanaged to a fault by their coach. When a coach controls every aspect of the team's execution for the entire 40 minutes to that extent and puts zero trust in the players, things break down when the game's on the line. Gotta let the players freelance a little bit.

-At least that video is full of hot *** and not Kentucky Joe. They really are hung up on that shot though. Poor schlubs.

-Anyone interested in a late lunch/beers/games around 1?

Pretty weird we dont have anyone on the roster that has ever played against IU. I'm sure they get the magnitude of the game bc of the tournament, but assume the extent of the rivalry from a fan perspective is lost on them.

I'm actually fine with this. I don't think these guys need any additional pressure to win a tournament game.

Nice time for a Murray-Go-Off game. Thomas Bryant can't guard a pick-n-roll to save his life, either. He may be able to hurt us a little inside, but he'll likely give it all back on the defensive end. If Skal and Poythress are on shooting the ball, GAME OVER.

Changing topics but seriously- I'm worried about Sean Miller's health. Waiting for PTI to give us an analysis of dude's sweat game from last night.

Didn't realize we set a NCAA tournament record for blocks last night with 15 breaking our own record of 14. Skal with those early blocks completely had Stony scared to go inside and made them very aware that a shot blocker was coming which altered many. Good to have those IU guys in the stands to see that and hopefully get in their head.

I'm sure Cal will switch it up a bit on Yogi but id like to see Briscoe play the type of D he played on Allen in the beginning of the year against Duke, smothering. Cal loves to cut the head off the snake off the other team by putting a Liggins type on a point guard to totally disrupt the offense. I hope to see that a lot on Saturday.

Really liked the doubling down on D last night with our bigs it was the best job of doing that i have seen all season, probably gonna need some of that on Bryant at times.

17-0 this season, when holding opponents to fewer than 63 points.

Murray's 112 3-pointers are the second-most by a freshman in NCAA history. The national freshman record is 122 by Stephen Curry of Davidson in 2006-07

Overshadowed by his prolific scoring, the 6-4 Murray has become an aggressive rebounder. He had seven rebounds today and 45 rebounds over the last seven games, averaging 6.4 boards per game during that span.

Murray broke the 700-point plateau, today. The other UK players with 700-plus points in a single season: Dan Issel, Jodie Meeks, Jamal Mashburn, Kevin Grevey, Ron Mercer, Kenny Walker.

There are only 2 guys ahead of Willis who averaged a better 3point % in a season and who have shot at least 50 3's in a season. Ford is #1(52.88%), then Lamb 2(48.5%) and Lamb 3(48.6%), then Willis at 44.54%.

I cannot imagine what the TV ratings will be for the IU/UK game.

Do I get drunk tonight or do I stay fresh for tomorrow? Is it wiser to consider the greater evening or do you just accept that this weekend is a grind?

Against other historically elite (top 7) programs in the NCAA Tournament, Cal/UK is 5-0.

IU: 1-0
UofL 2-0
KU: 1-0
UNC: 1-0
Duke: 0-0
UCLA: 0-0

Worth noting.

Is this a touching question? It's March madness with 13 hours of hoops and Kentucky fresh off a *** whipping of their first round opponent. It's 65 degrees and the sun is shining.

Come on man, you're like 35 not 50. My rommie pounded frosties until 2:00 last night and is already at the gym.

-I'm staying fresh for tomorrow.

-Len Elmore is approaching Vitale-esque status of unbearability for me. Adds nothing and just gets in the way. Also just seems like a terrible guy.

-Indi's yesterday for the first time. Game-changer.

-Ready for the Charles Barkley in-studio experiment to end. It was cute at first, and he's usually good for 1-2 funny things per day, but otherwise, he adds nothing. CBS needs to turn that over to active/retired coaches who know the teams.

-"Office NCAA Viewing Party" today at lunchtime. Can't imagine a better use of my time than watching Syracuse-Dayton while munching on bad snacks surrounded by people who don't know hoops. I have around five co-workers(Jenrus included) who I can talk hoops with. The rest? Get out. Heading home in a half-hour, just like yesterday. Watch games alone. Profit.

You 20-somethings don't get it. You will someday. Plus, I'm going to be dealing with an ornery BBdK and ABH by 2pm Saturday. You don't know.

Dominique's ball hawking and rebounding is also helping a ton. Would like to see him get some clock against Yogi tomorrow too. He doesn't seem like he can keep up with the faster guards but somehow is able to really guard with his feet instead of his hands (which Briscoe can sometimes get in trouble over).

I love me some Dom straight-line drive to the basket and little 3-footer.
