It will be a difficult task to get the recruits like Clemson and LSU get, the South and a few outliers own college football, and it doesn't look like that's going to change for quite awhile.
Well, Clemson used to recruit like crap...I am not going to check but it is probably just in the last 5 years that they started to pull in top 10 classes.
So what changed? They are still in the same lame conference, still in South Carolina, still competing against the same teams for "local" recruits...

Brent Venables was hired to run the defense. He is also a excellent recruiter. Last year, Clemson gave him 5 years and 11 million to not leave for a head coaching gig. Venables was on the Oklahoma staff when they actually played defense in the 2000's.
The good news is that only 11 of them can be on the field at any one time. We HAVE to make the highly ranked guys we get pan out and we HAVE to develop those 3 star guys in to similar talents to the 4 star guys. The only way to do that is to keep in the system for 4-5 years IMO.
