So he is supposedly "committed" but says it's a three way tie and he will make a signing day decision. That seems a little flaky to me. Said his brother will help with the decision and he had a really good feeling about Pitt and Louisville and a little bit about Nebraska. I just wonder why he remains committed if he truly hasn't decided? Just wanted to discuss

What a disappointment we are still closing weak with anyone remotely close to being a good sackman. And no backup plan.

Granted he's a juco transfer and not exactly the same player profile as Guy Thomas, but I wonder why Andrew Van Ginkel wasn't a bigger recruiting priority. He's going to play for a rival now.

I think he was a pretty high priority.

I think he was a pretty high priority.

I know there is lot more that goes on that doesn't get reported, but I barely heard anything about his recruitment. I believe he visited unofficially over the summer and that's about all we heard. Nebraska was a finalist along with Iowa, but he choose to play at Wisconsin. For a kid that played his juco ball so close to Lincoln (and with John Parella's son no less), I would have thought we'd make a bigger splash especially concerning what a tremendous need we have at that position. I can't help but think we got beat here.

Btw, have we ever signed a player out of Iowa Western?

I think at the time we Porcher and Thomas committed, so that's probably why we didn't press harder

At least TJ Watt is gone.
So how does Suh have a "chance" meeting with guy thomas in btw these visits and in the final week before signing day? Hmm
Sounds like the same shenanigans others are being called out for

Kid was basically the only JUCO we recruited besides Buggs (Bama commit). He liked Wisconsin better, probably for the 3-4 base. Tough noogies, as they say.

I'm sure JP has it covered .. otherwise if Riley continues to hold his coaches accountable JPs ongoing employment might be determined by what transpires between now and signing day
He landed 3 DL, D Thomas, Watts, and Daniels....losing out on 1 guy whose been on the fence for 5 months isn't a concern to me and I doubt Riley is concerned either especially with the switch to the 3-4. No way Guy was gonna be a 3-4 DE. He'd have to put on 65 pounds to do that.

But the numbers just don't add up to some... Espeically the specialist in numbers on this board.:p

If he comes here he won't be a DE. He weighs 205 lbs for crying out loud he would be a Cat or Dog outside linebacker. So regardless he wouldn't be a Parella guy anymore anyway
Hmmmm seems like I read that somewhere before.....like earlier in this thread....

Another board saying Vrzal was reporting according to his source, Guy Thomas is N. I didn't listen to 1620 today though, so I can't independently verify.

Guy Thomas sounds like a true signing day decision recruit. We'll know soon enough what his decision is.

Believe he is to announce at around 6 AM or a little after CST. It will be nice to know one way or another that early in the day.... I predict he will be the first fax to Lincoln.

Nate Clouse was on 1620 and heard him on my way home. He thinks he sticks with Nebraska. Hope we can keep the two that are wavering and add a few more with hopes of landing a surprise tomorrow too.
