I would be surprised if Gueye's choice isn't UAB or Rutgers.

@Russ Wood, I don't know much about UAB's program. Do you know if they have a lot to offer ? Looks like their coach has some Maryland ties and they reached the Round of 32 in 2015.

Hopefully, for Rutgers, the appeal of playing against Big 10 competition can give us an advantage. I hope he takes on that challenge.

I Think his visit changed his mind. Chemistry with his classmates and his background might be why he choose us. We will know soon.

Think the decision would be this week, but obviously things can change. I think UAB and RU are the choices here and agree with Russ Wood.

UAB is a good MM program with a rich basketball history. They have won the C-USA regular season three times in the past 12 years. Due to being in the C-USA it's difficult to get to the NCAA Tournament unless they win the C-USA Tournament.

Rob Ehsan is a good young coach who really 'gets it'. I have known him for seven years and I think he will do well there. He was an assistant at Maryland for a few years under HOF Coach Gary Williams.

I had a chance to speak with Ehsan in July at an AAU Tournament about his team, transitioning to head coach. Evidently the school is converting an on-campus gym into a basketball practice facility.

Actually it was more like "ignore Georgia Tech and believe the RU and SHU chatter that Zach Brazille (I think it was him) was Tweeting," which had me scratching my head at the time.

RussWood......Any feel for where this ends up???.....sounds as if you haven't changed the thought process on UAB, based on the last couple of posts here....

Not beyond my earlier post but if I hear something from someone who is reliable, I'll post it here.

No decision. You guys know the board would report it! Lol.

Looks like UAB 60, Rutgers 40.

Who knows?

Recruiting is a process where coaching staffs are ultimately evaluated by their ability to close the deal.Rutgers is in a dire need for attracting better talent that can provide immediate help.Recruits with the potential to be consistent scorers against B1G level competition must be a ongoing priority.

I'd agree with this much more in football than basketball.
