All depends on what happens in off-season. Right now, I'd have to say 2-4 wins.
But there are rays of hope. Biggest concerns, for me, are:
(1) kicking game
(2) offensive line play
(3) linebacker play
The kick-offs have to get much better. We're not good enough to give up so many yards on every kickoff.
I think Ash should pressure Hobbs into funding the addition of an old, experienced co-offensive coordinator with a background in OL coaching. I think DM is going to be really good but there's just too much to be done on that side of the ball for one young guy, no matter how brilliant and hard-working he may be. Having someone around who's done that and been there could be very helpful.
I also think that if there's any way to find some experience at LB, we need to grab it. We are painfully thin in that position group right now. If we can shore up that group, the D will get instantly better against the run.
Depending on what happens with the OL and LB groups, and if we have some really good luck, we might be able to scrape and claw our way to a bowl. But it would take a lot of luck, and our players will have to work harder in the off-season than our competition's players.
If we can kick off, pass and run block better, and if we can greatly improve line-backer play, we're going to look a whole lot better. Still not competitive with the elite teams, but we can win more of the winnable games. And with a lot of luck, we could get to six wins.
