I predict this series is going to have two close, low scoring games and one game where the final score is like 17-13

FSU was on the way to beating them in game 1 then gave up a 3-run rally on a sequence of events that included a balk, an infield hit, a wild pitch, and a popup that fell for a hit because of a shift. Then the game ended on a FSU baserunning blunder.

Georgia Tech is going to hit. But you can't let things like that happen to cost you a game because 2 days later you look up and you've been swept.

We’re going to have to pitch well, obviously. But, this comes down to how well we produce runs early in the games and we can’t beat our self at all. Probably, going to have to run down some less than 50% chance fly balls in gaps as well. But, it’s going to come down to producing runs, need to run some balls out of the ball park as well.

you win this series and you’ve set your self up well for a top 4 seed.

We are going to have to hit with runners on , no way we will win if we leave guys on like this past weekend at Clemson.pitching should give us a chance but no one is going to hold GT down for the entire game. They have swept every home series in ACC play but VT and only swept Cal on the road.

Like you mentioned, our pitching needs to be on. And GT is going to hit.

We can't fall into the trap of trying nibble the corners and walking guys (like we're prone to do). Base hits can't score 2 or 3 this weekend. Our guys need to command the zone and locate pitches.

The thing to consider about GTs offense is they play in a hitters park and they haven't seen pitching like we have yet. I'm excited about this series and will be REALLY impressed if we win more than 1.

Just find a way to win the series or at least make sure you don’t get swept. Preview of ACC Tournament Championship is my guess. Let’s Go…….

Good look into a lot of the numbers for both teams heading into the weekend. I think GT might be a good offensive team, not sure though lol

(Also not sure how this image will show up on the thread)
Gotta be honest... I'll be fairly happy with one win and two other competitive games. Like others said, if you actually win this series, you're looking like one of THE best teams in the country.

As many have pointed out, we need to limit the free stuff. They really need to focus and make sure they get that leadoff guy out. That will be huge in slowing down their offense.

Three right handed starters that's a good match up for the offense. No for those who have time to have watched or scouted GT ? How many left handed hitters do they have?

Got to win Friday for any realistic chance for a series win. Going to be a very heavy lift to beat a team as good as GT 2 games in a row.

Great analysis, Grace. This GT team is truly phenomenal. To add a frightening further bit of info, GT's pitching has been better than ours in conference games.

Fans should realize the possibility of us not winning this series should not be viewed as us not being that good. We could lose the series and easily still be a national seed and an Omaha team. GT is freaky good.

I posted this in another thread which has not been seen as much:

When you look at the GT team and stats and details, they are historically excellent.

GT and UCLA, based on their play so far, are far and away the best teams in college baseball this year.

Love our guys and they are really good. Just worth noting for all of our fans that, on the field so far, the difference between GT and everyone else below them in the rankings is actually quite large.

It is also worth noting that in conference play only, GT's pitching has been better than ours in the stats. They have a 4.29 ERA with a .242 batting average against them. They have only given up 79 runs against them.

Our conference stats are 4.93 with a B/AVG of .262. We have given up 98 runs in the same total of 18 games.

Meanwhile, on offense in conference GT has scored 175 runs. We have scored 126. A big difference.

Anything can happen for the three game series, but this particular #2 team is epic-level good. Hope we find a way to win two this weekend! Would be a massive accomplishment.

Was going to say, if UCLA was not on a historical pace, this GT team would be the consensus #1 team in the country most years

Well baseball is the great equalizer, anyone can beat anyone on any given day. While numbers are great to make predictions it all comes down to execution

So GT should actually have a better record than they do, lol
In a fun twist if Carolina wins the series 2-1 against GT (and depending on what happens to UCLA this weekend), Carolina could be #1 in the nation and still #2 in the ACC.

All three righty starters. Sunday guy actually has most of the best stats. All with similar and good era's below 3.5, with sunday guy below 2.5. Their pitching is 4th in conference for team ERA. They are not bad at all on the mound.
Thanks for the info. Hope we can show up and put some runs on the board. Cause they're sure gonna.
