Many of them do. I deal with media all the time. They don’t want to piss u off because they need u for their next story they have to do. I’d say the majority of them operate like that these days.

Legit reporter is an oxymoron at this point. Any real reporting is highly edited to fit whatever narrative the owners of the “news” agency have approved.

John Gruden wasn't sending those emails to strangers. The people who were receiving those emails were comfortable with the language he was using and friendly with him. There is obviously a culture of racism in the high levels of the NFL, but I could of told you that after they let Rush Limbaugh commentate. Having said that, what else would expect from a bunch of old white billionaires...not demographic known for their progressive view points.

This Schefter thing is just a reflection of how "journalism" works these days. Sure CNN, Fox News, ESPN release a story, but you're damn sure the "stories" are "edited" so as not to harm any corporate or controlling interests. You get a story, but they are all biased because anything that is critical of the controlling interests either isn't published or is published in a favorable light. They try to create to illusion of balanced journalism, but in a very narrow and contrived scope.

Limbaugh said the NFL really wanted a black QB to be successful. Show me the lie. I know Deshaun Watson isn’t getting treated they way others accused of sexual assault have.

Couric and Russert are media personalities. When I say legit reporters, I mean a journalist with the AP, Reuters, major national newspapers, and the like. If you know, you know.

Regarding Couric, I agree what she did was slimy.

I’m wondering if the best true reporters these days may be of the podcast variety rather than traditional media. So much so that traditional media has begun complaining that the podcast world is too unregulated.

I think Saagar Enjeti and Krystal Ball are getting fairly close with their new show Talking Points. Nothing is perfect but they are easy to listen to.
