First, I thought Grier played well. Good enough for us to win. I also feel positive vibe when he's out there- like something good is gonna happen. Poise under pressure.

But, he seems much slower as a runner than when he was at UF. I was surprised by that. It'd be interesting to know who's faster - him or Skyler. I actually think skyler could run the ball better than Will. Don't get me wrong, Will is a better passer no doubt. I think will's deep ball got better as game went on.

I thought he looked really good for his first true game in what 2 years. We have a really good qb, put up almost 600 yards of offense against a good D. I thought Grier ran well and smart when he saw the opening. I think he'll only get better as the year goes on.

He is a really good QB. If he duplicates those numbers all year he will have a case to go pro early. It will be shame if our D doesn't get it together and we waste another season with a draftable QB, which sadly seems like where we are trending.

Lol at you even trying to say Howard is even close to Griers' level. Howard was one of the worst starting QBs in WVU recent history.

No doubt Grier is a talent. And he ran when needed tonight and did ok when he ran. But he looks much more of a pocket passer than I otherwise thought compared to his UF time.
I'd rather we not run him anyway. But he just doesn't seem to have the mobility I thought he had.

No. I'm not saying Howard is close to griers level overall. Grier is an NFL prospect for sure.

But why the dis of Howard. No way he's "one of the worst". He led us to 10 wins last Year
Calm down.

Well we have actually been very fortunate at that position over the last 15 or so years so that's not a huge slight, he played with a lot of heart to make up for physical weaknesses and helped us to a 10 win season. Better than Jarrett Brown, Paul Mallard and probably Clint Trickett.

Grier is good for a guy that hasn't played in 2 years. Our fans would cry and complain even if Tom Brady was QB.

He should only run if it's wide open, he has an NFL arm and from tonight seemingly the smarts. He missed on a few throws especially early which I will chalk up to not enough game action with the guys, but running and putting himself in harms way is not in his best interest or ours even if he had a little more speed.

He didn't beat a single team that was ranked last year (piled up wins against unranked teams during a B12 down year) and then in the bowl game, he **** himself. I'll give you Millard, but Brown and Trickett were better than Howard.

So Like a hater to pull that
He had comeback wins against KSu and BYu a free trailing early. They were both good teams. Why still hate on him. We he kid overachiev sbabov his ability. And that was then. It's now 2017.

There is still something to be said for executing and beating who you are supposed to. If Pat White could have beaten who he was supposed to we would have had an NC appearance and possible Natty.

Neither Byu or KSU finished Ranked. Ksu was ok not great and Byu got to 9 wins beating weak MWC and american conference schools.

Pat White never ended up winning a national championchip but he won the Sugar and Fiesta, 2 marquee bowl games. He was 4-0 in his career in bowl games and If im not mistaken he was the 1st qb to accomplish that. Will Grier will never get that opportunity Holgorsen will make sure of that.

I think that was more on RR than Pat. We played so conservatively that we kept running into a 9 man box with 3 wide outs. Literally one defender to account for 2 receivers and we never checked into a quick read to that side. He NEVER gave his QBs autonomy outside of the zone read run.

Grier just lost to a true freshman playing his first CFB game.

Well I mean if our D could get off the field every once in awhile we probably win. Grier also hit Sills in the end zone to tie but he couldn't hang on. Anyone trying to dump on Grier right now is a perfect example of this fanbase eating its own. We do it with every player with some hype, turn on them when they're not a Brady, Moss, LeBron, etc regardless of sport.

GRIER IS THE BEST WVU QB SINCE GENO SMITH. BY THE END OF THE SEASON HE MAY BE THE BEST WVU QB SINCE MAJOR HARRIS. REMEMBER, GRIER AND THE RECEIVERS HAD NEVER BEEN IN A GAME TOGETHER IN THEIR LIVES. THE IMPROVEMENT FROM THE FIRST HALF TO THE SECOND HALF WAS ASTOUNDING. THE BIG 12 COACHES ALREADY ARE WORRIED ABOUT FACING GRIER. I SEE AN OUTSTANDING SEASON FOR THIS TEAM AS LONG AS GRIER IS HEALTHY.

All Air Raid QB's have gawdy stats. If Grier were that special, the Gators would have given him a second chance. Right now, he's 0-1 after losing to a true FR playing his first college game.

Here we go again. The sky is falling! It's one game and it was a great opener. We can play the woulda, coulda, shoulda game but it doesn't matter. This team will learn from its mistakes last night and build on it. IMHO they will be a much better team when conference play starts. We played a good team and had a chance to tie or win it at the end. I would have loved getting the black diamond trophy back to Motown but I think it's way too early to throw the towel in on the rest of the season.

Will is a couple of years older and has put on a few extra pounds. He may have been faster when he was at Florida but I can't really substantiate your claim. Have his records sent up from Florida to WV and let's settle this thing. Skyler, he was a heck of a player and WV owes him a debt of gratitude.

What were his running stats? How many carries and for how many yards? Your expectations were based.mainly, on 'I THINK...'. OTH I THINK his running was quite acceptable, but, however, more than i BELIEVE is healthy for him.(And echoed by Dana after the game.)

Browne, 17-24 for a whopping 140 yards and 1 measly touchdown (entire game).
Will Grier had 166 yards in the 3rd qtr alone.
YSU total yards 418, sPitt 348.
Attendance 40,000

I am not sure what any of this gibberish means but its more proof that you are not a true wvu fan. Chad Johnston was a wvu Qb from 94-96. He was slower than hell. If you went to wvu as you claim, you would have known this. It is common knowledge that whiny Liberals like yourself aren't that Bright.
