They should not play those schools in regular season because they will have to play them in conference tournament. Same goes for every school, do not play teams that you may face come tournament time.

That's fairly ridiculous. Using that logic, MHS shouldn't play Gretna/Chatham/Dan River either because they "may face" them in the 2A West tournament. You've got to get 22 regular season games in somehow. Martinsville plays a full PD schedule as well as a partial conference schedule.

For at least 40+ years Martinsville played regular season games in the Piedmont District only to play those same teams in the District tournament for the right to move on to Regionals. So I'm not sure how this is really that much different than what's been the norm forever.

2A west is different from conference tournaments. I just never like rematches in any sport come tournament time.
